Has anyone ever tried to make ROM2SD work for this device so we can just get a nice SD card and use that for the entire devices roms and such? I'm not a programer and don't know if this is possible or even a good idea but thought I would ask as Google and XDA searches don't turn up any results.
Thanks in advance for all the information you can share about this idea.

Hey guys . i have been killing a game on my phone the last two days , and am wanting to get the save states from my gameboid app off my phone so i can load them onto my wii .
Problem is i cant find any trace of gameboid in my file system anywhere. Anyone know where the save files go to? or where gameboid installs to?
i would just download one off the net , but thats dirty , and its kind of a rare game so i couldnt find any anyway.
I know this isnt a typical question and kinda nerdy , but at least its a break from froyo threads haha .
thanks guys

sweet! have you already tried using ADB to browse the system files / partition of your phone? You are not limiting your search to just the SD Card...right?
ABD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875963
Didn't use adb, but browsed around in root manager. But I'm not real where to look. I found the apk haha. But no trace in the system. Still looking though

If it's like the other apps installed to the phone, it should save to /data/data/<name of apk>/ and if it isn't there, it may have made a directory on the sdcard.
Gameboid savegame files get saved in the exact same place as the ROM, wherever you put it. They're even suffixed as .sav.
You're Over analyzing this. The save states are on your sd card. Just mount your phone on your pc. Look in your sd card for the save states. If you can't find them I'll load gameboid up and find where it defaults to, but when I used nesoid I had to choose where my games where then the save states generate there.

were you successful in porting your save files to VBA? I want to do the same on my mac instead of my wii
actually , not yet . looks like vba and game boid do not use the same save state types . But i am looking into a way to convert them now . im pretty sure its possible. will report back when i have succeeded haha
Actually, i've been working on this.
I found the .sav file on my phone, copied it to my pc, did some linking stuff in no$GBA (just another GBA emulator), and was able to save it.
However, when you are trying to place the file back on your phone it won't be detected by Gameboid, it loads from the save file it keeps itself which is called a .ss0 file (first saving slot), when you delete the .ss0 file it also wont read the .sav file and just asks you to start a new game.
So now im trying to find a way to bypass / edit my way in so i will be able to throw back my .sav file to my phone to keep playing there, however not much succes there yet.
Edit:
Just figured out that i can turn off that the auto save will be loaded directly, so can "load" my own safe file first now, however the game says the save file is erased due to corruption or damage, so i will try to make a new save file using another emulater... will keep you guys updated
Very interesting. I'm having similar issues. Make sure to keep me posted. I'm still working on it as well. Surely one of us will figure it out.

I'm enjoying my 2nd android device but can't find the website to use the remote functions.
Could anyone help or share the link?
Thank you

You need to go into the Kies Air app, it will give you the URL for the website - you'll need to be on the same WiFi network (assuming its much the same as Kies Air for the original Galaxy S).

Are you talking about the site to remotely find and wipe your phone...
I tried it yesterday... Couldn't get the remote ring to work unfortunately...
It's called Samsung Dive (.com)

Thanks for your advice... I just checked and I did enter it the way you recommended... But it doesn't work. The other features for tracking and call logs work... Weird!
Is it worth using Samung Dive remote tracker etc if I already have Lookout installed? I haven't managed to find any reviews for Dive...
I am using Dive. I do not have lockout.
I am also using Exchange with remote wipe enabled.
If your phone is new, do everyone a favor and test remote wipe through samsung dive
I wanted to do it myself, but by the time I found time I already had my phone heavily customized, did not want to ruin that.
In Dive I only tested "Locate" and "Lock" features, they work at first glance, but again I did ont try to bypass the "lock" feature - it may as well be possible.
Hey guys, just got a quick question that may be simple but its stumping me. I find myself downloading music off of g-tunes a ton. Love the app its great but I always find myself plugging my phone into the computer and dragging the files to my SD card. Which works just fine but it gets real annoying. Is there a way that whenever I download music it will go to SD card by default? That would be very useful to me if so. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Thank You Rick Celphas for your suggestion. But as I am planning for my final year project I must develop or append some advance features in my application. Initial idea is good, but if you have further suggestion of features, which can be added in this application.

Well you could make these options:
Remote access security functions(factory reset, change locmscreen password ...) from other phone by sms or call.
Trace the phone with GPS(from another phone or website)
Get remote control of the camera, sound and vibration.
To get peoples attention and make pictures of the areay the thief is.
You can find alot of things people would like to be able to do when there phone is stolen

Thanks for your suggestion. Will search further about all suggested app ideas. If any help required will ask.
Start by looking to what would make your daily life more easier and more enjoyable
An app, which shows the nearby cashpoints would be cool.
Can anyone suggest an app that will allow me to copy my SD data from my old phone onto the Essential over the air? I thought Google's File Go would work, but it seems to restrict which files I can transfer directly, phone to phone. i need access to files beyond the 6 categories File Go offers. I'd like to stay away from any kind of wiring or PC use. Thanks.
Dropbox seems to be a solution. I still would appreciate additional input. Thanks.

You can take an ADB backup... Which should copy everything on device to computer...
If you are rooted... You can do it via wireless ADB

I'm using an app called HandShaker...work fine for me...
X-plore file explorer will transfer over wifi sharing.
You might want to check into an app called superbeam. It uses wifi to transfer as well and you can use it afterward to transfer files from your PC to your phone and from your phone to PC.
