Hello everyone! I will try to explain my problem as briefly as i can. Last Friday i was replacing headphone jack, and before this i put away battery. After replacing i sticked battery back to phone and tried to turn it on, but caught bootloop. I put away battery again, and sticked it back, and after that wasn't able to turn my device on with turn on/off button, just with turn on/turn off and volume down buttons. Now i can turn it on normally, but there is a huger issue with battery. It drains faster now, sometimes phone can turn off with no reason, and Nova Battery Tester shows sometimes +10c and after just 10 seconds temperature can become +60. Is it an issue with battery or what? Everything working good except battery.

Last Night my Genie was constantly trying to switch off, It got less and less frequent so I gave up and went to bed with the charger on the pnone.
This morning the LED on the speaker have turned red and when I tried to switch on the led wnet off and the phone is dead.
Can anyone tell me what I can do to salvage my poor darling?
Regards
Chris
Hi Chris,
Did you try power cycling your phone? take out the battery, press and hold the power button, then put your battery back on.
I had similar issues; I think in my case the issue was a bad/worn out battery+ corrupterd ROMs.
I replaced a new HTC battery and flashed my phone with WM 6.. its working now.(touchwood)
I've been told that charging the Titan while off is the best way - so the battery resets or something. I don't know if you have to do this everytime or just once and a while.
but i found that I turn my phone off, then while it's charging - it will mysteriously turn itself back on. The battery is not full yet, it just will randomly turn on.
So Is there a way to keep the phone off while charging? (I'm using a wall HTC adapter)
There is no reason to charge with the phone off. Also are you really turning the phone or or putting it in standby.
I hold the power button down till it says 'turn off , yes/no" and I push yes.
by the way what is standby?
push power button to turn phone screen off.
Some winmo phones turn on by itself, the titan and TP are 2.
I use S2U2 to lock the phone so the phone closes itself at a set time.
IMO, turning off your cell phone to charge ruins the point of having a cell phone for the time its off. Even if the phone's off, it'll still be draining a little energy.
Standby:
Phone is on. You press the power button breifly once. Phone screen turns off and phone goes into a low power mode.
Off:
Phone is on. You press and hold the power button and tap Yes when the dialog box asks if you want to turn off the phone. Phone then turns off completely.
If my phone is charging off a PC via USB it will sometimes awake from standby on its own. It doesn't do this when using just a charger. It does not turn on by itself though if fully turned off.
I only turn off my phone to charge if I want it to charge a little bit faster.
Sweet thanks for the replies.
I was just curious. But it turns out that my phone kept turning on, because my charger was on it's way out for some reason.
Tested it and it was only charging at a rate 50mA way less than the 1A label. And it was always super hot. So got a new one, problem solved, glad it didn't fry my phone

what you're referring to is calibrating the battery. to calibrate the battery, you need to charge your phone to 100%, let it die, then charge it to 100% while the phone is off. calibrating your battery resets the sensors inside which provide all the information about your battery, including remaining battery life. definitely a good thing to do every once and a while and you'll notice the difference
There aren't sensors inside the battery.
Any body have this issue. When ever the phone is on and I need to pull the battery for whatever reason, it will not turn on when I put the battery back in.
If I wait and turn off the phone before taking out the battery it is fine though.
How I get it back on is a problem itself. It would take me upwards of 20 min of just pressing the power button x amount of time, removing the battery and charging it.
This isn't even happening when I am out of battery. I would have 90% left
Also sometime it looks like it tries to turn on, display the black screen with HTC logo and displays the radio... then it just keeps on rebooting itself. Never actually fully booting.

sounds like you are abusing your phone. dont mash buttons that many times, you are hurting it.
take the battery out, hold the power key for 10 seconds, let go. then put battery in, and press power key once.
if this doesnt work, get an iphone
I've read a few posts similar to this.
Solution: Once battery is out, leave out for 15-30 mins, reinstall battery WITHOUT turning device on, plug in power supply, wait an additional 5-10 mins before turning back on. Works for others.
OK will try this. Is there a reason why this always happend when I pull the battery though?
Also, check your pins. One of them may be bent.

Ok this way seem to work. Thanks
There wasn't any bent pins on it though. I thought that this was just one of the flaws of running Android on the HD2.
Because I never had an issue with pulling the battery and it not powering on while it was on the stock WIMO
thanks guys! it worked.
why do people continue to pull the battery? i think i've ever only pulled the battery once in the 3 months i've been flashing roms and testing builds. reset buttons always works for me. don't want to get them pins bent!
Hi Guys, so I flashed Resurrection Remix and it was working fine. Few days later, I woke up to my phone continuously vibrating. Upon checking I saw that it was vibrating because it was doing a boot loop. Unfortunately my PC was broken at the time too, tough week.
Anyway, I let it do it's thing until it runs out of power. It never did. Seriously I waited for a day. When I slept, it had 20% battery (not charging). So I thought maybe, the power button is acting up again which has happened many many times before.
So I opened up my phone and adjusted the power button. Even, holding the volume up while plugging in didnt work anymore.
While I was there I saw the battery connector thingy, I unplugged it and re plugged it real quick without breaking anything. And It restarted and the device worked fine.
But.... The battery icon is steadily at 50% for a min then drops to 0% even while connected to charger. So, I charged it for a few minutes but it doesn't move.
I was about to do a factory reset but it shut down. The battery icon doesn't appear, only the red blinking led light. I tried charging it like that overnight to no avail.
I then tried to remove the battery connector again and as soon as I plug it, the screen turns on then off again. Sometimes it gets to the battery charging icon before it shuts down. If I bend the connector downwards it sometimes turns the screen on and sometimes doesnt.
I took it to repair shops and they said that the problem is the battery and ofc to no suprise, they dont have a replacement.
Do you guys have any idea what happened? Was it a button issue, software issue or indeed battery issue. Before all this happened, the device was working perfectly.
Please help. I miss my phone already.
I think it due socket of battery, can you open the back cover and plugout and plugin this socket, will be OK
Hi,
One thing that is really weird started to happen recently.
(About Once per 10~20 days)
#And it's that my Note4 just suddenly die in the middle of usage no warnings.
#The screen becomes totally black no LED lights, and pressing the home or power button doesn't wake it up.
#the only 2 ways to turn it on back again is either you have to plug in the charger or remove the battery and put it back again.
Now i thought that the battery is probably the issue.
But the strangest part is that. When i turn the phone back on The battery still has the same percentage before it died so i can simply continue using the rest of the charge without any issues. (Apparently it holds the charge just ok?)
It's almost like getting turned off by it self except you can't turn it back on unless u connect a charger for a second or reinsert the battery.
Note that: this isn't the original battery that came from the device as the original one started to have less screen on time than before about 3.5 to 4.5hrs not bad but the newer one i bought which is supposedly original or atleast the highest quality i could find it gave me 5hrs to 6.5hrs of screen on time.
I'm not sure if it's the battery or a software bug.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Try this fix guide i made .
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/battery-shutdowns-15-20-fix-root-t3513268
If this doesn't fix then 100% battery issue go get a new battery.
