Language
This version have pr-br?? (Portugues-Brasil)
If you look for a CSC XEU you should get - Portugues Europe (which is probably not to far from Portugues-Brasil).
As this firmware includes XEU it should be ok (except if you don't like Portugues Europe).
Olivier
Instaled on my i9000t... Seems fine... Dont have pt-br but pt-pt is not so bad...
And the root for this??
Thanks for your work!
There XSE too?

No problems rooting it. It works with the latest CF-Root. But that kernel is to old. Need a new kernel for maximum performance.
Root your rom with a custom kernel, then flash this kernel on top. You will still have root .
Personally I just flashed the kernel on top of ZSJW4 (been rooted and customised for ages). It's not worth to flash a branded rom with no new features but the kernel is new (and so far so good).
Ram is the same 364mb, no noticable benchmark difference or anything as usual.

how to flash the kernel alone? I have downloaded the Zimage zip file then how can I make a tar file? shall I replace the Zimage of an existing tar file?
Thanks!!!

I think odin can flash the zImage directly (no need to make a tar). If that doesn't work, use "sgs kernel flasher" from market, it's free and will work on zips or plain zimage (needs root though of course).
Help with rooting and flashing CM9
Hello,
I own GT - I9000 with STOCK ROM exactly this one (2.3.6 TMZ - Baseband i9000XXJW4; and Build number - gingerbread.BOJW6)
And I wanna root and flash from stock to custom rom (CM9).
Before posting I tried to root my SGS by SuperOneClick 2.3.3, however it stopped in the step 7. And now I would like to use ODIN for this. But I will do this once and I dont want to make hard brick from my phone. I am confused in this terms like PDA,CSC atc. And I dont know where to find new ones.
It´s possible to join files to this thread for ODIN for rooting and flashing?
It´s needed to upload new kernel, baseband (PDA,CSC and so on) on the phone?
Please would you mind to clear this issue up for me?
Thank you very much.

Could someone re-upload the zip files because I get an error when trying to download from MediaFire and RapidShare....Please I really want this Firmware...Thanks in advance and could somebody post a screenshot of this firmware...
This will be a place where you can find flashable zips for basebands, and kernels for various I8190 models
both extracted from official Samsung Firmwares and packed in flashable zip file.
I started to make just baseband zips for i8190N, based on script coming from Tys0n,
in time i was asked also to provide stock kernels for this device, and later on i decided to expand this Thread to all other device models, so lets make this a place for sharing and discussing about basebands in first plan, but also kernels if needed...
all zips are for custom recovery's like CWM or TWRP. [to be on safe side, do make a backup first, to be able to go back]
Basebands: Download links are on 2. post, flash zip from recovery and reboot twice if baseband unknown in phone settings.
[If u have problem like baseband XXXX and no connection to network, flash: for i8190 - thanks to tys0n; for i8190L; for i8190N - thanks to piskor, more info about this HERE, thanks to hasdroid]
Kernels: Download links are on 3. post, flash zip from recovery and reboot
Kernels marked as "STOCK" are for STOCK based ROMs only (bootlooping on custom ROMS)
Karnels marked as CUSTOM are for custom ROMs only (lice CM, Carbon, Omni etc.)
Samsung firmware (baseband) version number reference:
the last three letters that appear on the firmware code or name is the firmware version and follows a naming convention by Samsung which represents the build date and revision of the firmware.
So you can tell by looking at the firmware code which is a newer one:
for example, I8190XXAMJ2 is an older firmware, I8190XXAMJ3 is somewhat newer than *MJ2 (3 is greater than 2), while I8190XXAML1 is newer than *MJ3 (L is greater then J), etc. but what is the meaning of these three letters?
actually, for instance, the last three letters of I8190XXAMJ2 is M, J and 2, represents the year, the month of the firmware was built and the revision respectively. here is the break down for these letters:
- the first letter represents the year
J = 2010
K = 2011
L = 2012
M = 2013
N = 2014, etc
so XAMJ3 is a 2013 firmware while XANA2 is a 2014 firmware
- the second letter represents the month
A = January
B = February
C = March
D = April
E = May
F = June
G = July
H = August
I = September
J = October
K = November
L = December
so XAMJ3 is built on October 2013, while XANA2 on January 2014
- the third letter(number) represent the revision
so XAMJ2 is the second revision, while XAMJ3 is the third revision
as a result:
- XAMJ3 is built on 2013 (M) October (J) and is the 3rd (3) revision
- XANA2 is built on 2014 (N) January (A) and is the 2nd (2) revision

You can backup it using adb on PC or on phone in terminal app with following commands
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p16 of=/storage/sdcard1/modem.bin

These ar not working for me. Phone was an 8190N xxall6 on custom virginity rom. Tried xxaml1 and xxami1, booted twice and i get unfortunatelly phone has stopped and android stopped messages.
I have 8190 N version too and for me amj2 and last aml1 works
Maybe try to flash one more time

restored my stock stock rom backup in twrp, and baseband now shows XXAMI1, and it working... interesting.
Nandroid backup doesn't contain baseband, so it has been flashed properly and works

Hello,
today I flashed Maclaw's CM11 and I have no signal. I want to backup modem, before flashing new modem. How can I do this? I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145464 but it isn't for i8190.
Edit: solved

Please need help!
I flashed Maclaw's Carbon ROM 4.4.x and tried to flash new baseband from here...I flash it over TWRP and reboot phone...but phone stuck in a boot loop :/
Can't boot it in recovery mod...just can boot to download mode
What to do now?
So i find baseband I had on my phone before flash new one here (last one: XXAMJ2)...but it's .img file and I cannot flash it from TWRP.
Any idea how to flash it other way?
