Has anyone figured out how to disable the dumb noise that is played when plugging the Note 4 into usb/charger? I charge my phone next to my bed and when I plug it in it wakes up the sleeping wife who is already unpleasant enough...Anyone?
Settings->Accessories->Dock sound is unchecked. As I work-around I currently am turning my media volume all the way down before going into the bedroom which works, however I don't want to have to remember to turn it back and forth. I figured there would be an xposed module but don't see one for this.
Thoughts?
You cant
It default sound so u cant turn off it
Hi. I know is too late, but there is a possibiloty if you have a rooted phone. With a Root file manager (like ES file manager, or Root browser) navigate to System/media/audio/UI/charger_connection.ogg and remove that .ogg file (best is to CUT and Paste in a folder from your SD card, in case to mess something, to be able to restore. And that's all. Enjoy! ?

the shutter and auto focus sounds are so load that even the next door neighbors can hear it. so i went to the settings to disable it, but there is no option for it!!!!!
I even silenced the phone, but the shutter and auto focus sounds were still playing. i know i can change the sound of the shutter, but there is no silence option there either.
I really need you help guys!!!!
Thanx in advance
Search on Modaco.com for CameraSoundSh1.cab
copy silence.wav in /windows to another location. rename it to AutoFocus.wav and copy back and overwrite in /windows.
what about a very simple solution???
try to decrese the sound of the phone
the sound controller will appear
press on it 2 times (it will be like a speaker shape with "x" beside it)
so all sound including camera sounds are muted
but dont forget to restore the phone to the normal state using the same trick or you wont hear any call
So I set up my ring tones for voice call and notification but when i mount the phone to my computer the ring tone change to something else. If i get a text or email when the phone is mounted, it play a really annoying ring tone and the ring tone would play until i open the text (using the puzzle lock thing). This is bad for me at work when i am away from my phone.
Anyone notice this or know how to fix it? I used the G1 for a long time never have this happened.
Its that way because ring tones are stored on the sd cards and when you are mounted the system can't access them so it uses a default tone. No way of fixing it that I have found.

Sumasage, why do you mount your phone when you're at work? I understand why you might want to plug it in (to keep the battery charged), but unless you're copying data to/from you're phone, you may as well keep it unmounted.
If you are rooted, just use root explorer to copy the ring tone to your /system/media/audio/ringtone
Almost forgot, you will need to reboot.

I have data files and music on my phone so that's why it mounted. Regardless of reason it is till annoying, especially the ring tone sucks lol
@mr2t32 will try it and let you know.
For some reason the files are there to make a sound when connecting to the charger but the phone just vibrates. Anyone know how to enable this sound when connecting to the charger. Thanks!
Switch to Sound mode instead of vibrate/silence should help
Only helpful posts please. Of course the volume is up.
Is the System Volume up? Tap the gear behind the volume bar and check if the bottom bar is set to silent.
Yep. System volume is up. Does yours make a noise when connecting to a charger.
Mine just vibrates. No sound.

Thank you! The files are there to make a noise when connected to the charger but it does not work. Hope someone has an idea to get the sound back?

Huh. No, it doesn't.
I never noticed, I always have system volume turned off because the power fluctuates here just enough to keep triggering the sensor, and on my S3 it kept making a bloody racket every other few minutes. Very irritating.
Turned it up, but no, it doesn't make a sound. Just vibrates.
Those sound files are only there because Samsung did a lazy copy of the generic sound files they use in their nature ux theme. They just copied them all instead of deleting the ones they didn't use in the Note 3.

Guess there just is no way
Hi,
Something which might help is an application in the Play Store called Light Flow (allows you to set all things colour, sound and vibration for events which occur). The fee-based version has a 'Charging' notification which will play a sound when you connect your charger (just tested it and it works). Perhaps check out the Lite version first and see if you like it and/or it has this option for free!
But just let me add... I used to like this app but I don't use it any more. I had to remove it from my S2 because of a talkback issue. Now with the Note 3 there seems to be issues with the LED light not working as it should when the app is enabled. You also have to inspect each event (e.g. SMS, etc) and make sure what you had on before the app was insalled is still on (the app only has a certain number enabled by default and overides stock alerts).
Hope this helps.
Jonty.

use the app from playstore called PLUG SOUND. that's all it is for to make a sound when connecting your phone and dis-connecting your phone. best thing is you choose the sound from your phone anything you want. hit thanks if this helped
Ancient thread, I know. Mine turned out to be a setting to allow exceptions when do not disturb mode is on (which it is always on my phone). In (Pie) Notifications->Do not disturb->Allow exceptions->Touch sounds (on). With it turned off, I get no sound when I plug in the charger.
I have rooted my phone an year back and was using it without any issues. Now recently i wanted to cast the screen and installed some mirroring app. But then as it didn't work, i removed it. But then i observed that since then my phone is always going on speaker mode. In fact "Speaker On/Off" button has no effect at all while on the call.
Also bluetooth though detects the device, does not send out the audio signal to that device and remains on the speaker mode. Even headset after connecting shows the headset icon in the notification bar but music is played on speaker phone only.
Initially i thought it could be internal speaker issue but then even BT and headset are not working, which hints me that it could be software issue.
Has anyone faced something similar? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

You could try just rebooting your phone and or wiping your cache and dalvik cache in recovery but that probably won't do much but you could try. Last resort I would back up all my apps using Titanium Backup/ Super Backup and Google's own backup options in your settings then try a factory reset. Will wipe your phone except for internal data storage and ext SD card but might also correct what the issue is but it might not if this app somehow had root privileges and changed something in your system but didn't remove it when you uninstalled it. Wish I had a better option but that app did something to your phone I'm pretty sure of it. Make sure Google had your phone numbers and contacts backed up automatically or you will need to back those up separately with TB.

If those mirroring/casting apps used root access and modified some files in your ROM, Then you can try one thing, just navigate to /etc You should see mixer_paths.xml file, This file handles all sound routing, and i guess those apps modified this only. If this is the case, those apps definitely kept a backup of original file in same directory.
Thoctor and Sahil.bhardwaj, thank you very much for your help. Actually i tried factory reset but it didn't help. So i unrooted the phone and guess what? It started working perfect. Any ways i wanted to give it to my Dad who does not need unlocked phone so i can live with it now and can experiment with my newly bought Qiku 360!
Sahil bro, actually your comment come little late so didn't get the chance to check that out, but logically it makes sense as long as the developer of the app is well matured to take the backup of mixer_paths.xml or any system files for that matter.
On stock rom After OTA update 6.0.1 my phone started annoying sound ( which ì set for notifications)
It sounds when wake up screen and then when i open lock with finger security
NFC and all other notification sounds are turned off
E.g
Haptic keypad and other sounds.
Please help me to find out annoying sound.
Using a root browser, go to system/media/audio/ui, browse the list of sound files and look for the ones producing the sound you're complaining about, you can figure it out by the way they're named. Click on the likely one/s and play them to make sure it's the one you're looking for, then simply rename it. I do this every time I update for the wireless charging sound because it's played even with blocking mode on, which is the most stupid thing ever, and wakes me up overnight every time the phone temporarily loses connection with the wireless charger.
