Im trying to figure out how to disable or change the time settings to when the Nexus 7 goes into deep sleep. Im using Timur's Rom. I've checked all of the settings and there isn't an option. Can I delete the power management?

Hi i am just curious my battery only lasts a day, I installed cpu spy and I noticed that deep sleep is not being used. Is that normal or is that the reason why my battery drains so fast? I have read somewhere that even stock uses deep sleep I am not sure so please help. How do you get deep sleep to work?
I am using chobits digitalis v2reloaded and merruk kernel 2.0
sorry if this is a repost or something but i tried using the search box but no guides available only mentions of deep sleep that we newbies don't know about. Thanks
To get deep sleep working flash a custom kernel like savies or kuros or flash a custom rom that already has a custom kernel
For best battery life try kuros kernel it is really good for battery and has good performance too

if you have a2sd installed that is the reason why deep sleep is not activated,
use savie's or kuro's kernel,
if it still does not work,
install "better battery stats"
and check what apps are keeping the CPU awake
I've been using Kuros kernel for the past couple of days.
I last restarted my phone 24 hours ago and its spent 11.5 hours in deep sleep

first i'll try fixing the deep sleep issue first. I dont want to adjust to another new ROM im too stubborn lol.
in my understanding deep sleep is a state that activates when your phone's screen is off which should conserve battery. Try googling it for more info.

you are correct,
get a kernel that supports deep sleep,
kuro's or savie's would be appropriate

so merruk kernel does not support deep sleep? or is it just because of my "alarms" which is "android" and "com.gau.go.launcherex"? if its the alarms how do i fix it? thanks
i use merruk 2.0 pre final.. deep sleep is working.. btw im on stock rom.. and its perfect it last my 2 to 3 days just normal uses..

Try switching off background data activity in setting.. it might be culprit if you have too many syncs going on.. also disable notifications in all apps.. like hourly checks etc . Then see.. it might or might not help.. just a suggestion.

Install terminal emulator or any terminal from play store..
Type this command in it..
logcat -v long *:W*:S > /sdcard/filename.txt
You will find a file in SD card.. try that.. after running the command. Press power button to screen off.. then keep it for few minutes.. then screen on and end the command to get the file..

Settings>Developer options>And disable "Stay awake".
And also Settings>Display>Sleep> and choose anything that suits you.
There also might be a problem with the kernel, But nothing that i know about.
That's not really the problem, I didn't have stay awake on anyway. It may be an app or something I'm not sure .. Someone help idk how to read the battery stats

What do you mean? If we dont enable it through no frills, it wont work??????? Lol dont mislead others. U r such a respected guy.
That option is just for showing frequency stats in no frills. It has no connection with activating deep sleep. Deep sleep is there in all kernels including stock. While u charge, it will be diabled. And if your mobiles screen is off, it would be in deepsleep.

Definitely aggree.. Deep Sleep is a feature of a kernel..it is self activated when you dont use your phone for sometime,, you dont need to activate it, you just need a kernel that supports it

i know this is off topic... but you can use any kernel... much better if you use the kernel that has been developed long time ago and is continually updating at present time...
Hey guys...I have posted in many threads but was not getting an answer...So I created this thread...Im having a serious WIFi crisis...My downloading speed is very very low..I have a 1MB line...but my max download speed is like 3-4 KBs...I have tried many things...There was a thread with wifi issue and a possible fix...Tried that with no success...I have unchecked the wifi optimization in settings too...Also tried installing franco's kernel, that didnt help either...
So is there a solutiin or do I have to live like this...as i cant return to google as a rma ...
P.S My other android phones had no problem on this router...
Thanks..

Does this only happen on your router or all wifi signals.
Only thing I can think of is updating the router software and see if this changes things at all.

That's really weird because I used that same method to fixing my WiFi problem and it works. Double check to see if you changed the right one.. =\ all I can say man
Google Nexus 4
Turn off BMPS (Set it to 0) in the wifi ini. This should theoretically remove all slowdowns but will prevent your phone from sleeping (with wifi on). Another solution is to download Franco Kernel with Prima Drivers and force wireless G mode in the ini.

Hey I recently installed nexus 7 in my car and hardwired the USB cable to Fuse box.So whenever i start my car,my tablet turn on and when i turn it off my tablet goes to sleep mode.If i don't drive car for a week , the tablet shuts off .So i have to open my dash again to power on.Which is pain to open .so is there a way to solve this problem ? Suppose when i turn on my car , will my nexus 7 turn on from an off mode ,instead of charging in background ?

There was 2 posts exactly like yours the day before you posted. I'm not surprised you missed. No one ever uses the search function. Also, pro tip, when you don't get an answer, you don't post the same stuff again. You bump the OP. And normally when you post about the same thing multiple times and no one answers, it normally means no.

Xposed framework and MoDaCo module. I'm think it has a setting for that. Check the module info before you bother installing Xposed. Requires root. Both available here at XDA.
Second possibly. Timur's kernel, fixed installation version. More info: http://mehrvarz.github.io/usb-host-mode-power-management-nexus7/ Requires root. Seems custom made for your issue.
Trouble is you could have found the kernel mentioned and described in the myriad of threads here on car installs if you simply searched. Perhaps that's why nobody bothered to answer you.

Usb-rom by Timur, is the best option for an in dash install. It was literally made for just that scenario. Designed for in dash installations, and provides all the power and host mode charging options you need specific to this kind of operation. A quick google of timur usb-rom will get you where you need to be.

X posed nor a kernel can enable what OP is asking for. It is in the bootloader. Since the bootloader is not open sources, it can't legally be done.
