Hi all, I am trying to use my ibolt car dock with my Note 4 (not rooted) but I cant seem to find the option to route the audio music (not calls) through the car speakers via usb. There used to be an option on the Note 2 and 3 that changed the audio from the phone speakers to the usb. This setting was in the Accessories menu I believe but I dont see it in the note 4. Has anyone else tried using this dock with the Note 4? Perhaps there is a tasker function that can be used? Ideas?

What are my choices for connecting my phone to any given car stereo?
Here's what I'm pretty sure works:
AUX (3,5mm minijack directly to the player, have to switch songs on the phone)
Bluetooth A2DP (uses more battery, can I switch songs on the player? Not sure)
Here's what I'm wondering if works:
Can the phone imitate a USB memory stick in any way? I'm guessing not (without root atleast).
Purchase accessory: FM transmitter (does this exist?)
Any other methods I forgot?
Wondering about this because I want to use my phone (with Spotify) in the car.
check this out it will answer most of your questions

some one already asked that before, but to satisfy your own questions...
1. yes if your Deck supports it
2. best option if your Deck supports it, no problem with power if you have a 2Amp (2000mAh) car charger
i'm using this one

1. yes, if you set your phone as a mass storage device, and if your Deck supports it
2. Yes, but sound quality is bad
3. Yes, it depends on your Deck abilities.
Thanks mate. I will consider that charger.
Edit: If I use USB in mass storage mode, I can obviously only play local files. If I use A2DP, can I use spotify? Not sure how that works.
I have a t595 desktop dock (model # ECR-D979BEBSTD) for Galaxy S I9000:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ECR-D979BEGSTA
I'm using it with with the Samsung Home Desk app. That app has an option to divert phone’s audio to the external audio jack on the dock – it does that via the phone’s usb (app settings icon> Internal speaker> off). All works great with the usb power cord not connected. But I get terrible distortions on the sound via that external jack with the usb power cord connected. It does not matter if the usb power is via an AC outlet or via usb jack on a pc. It’s not a malfunctioning dock since I tested this with two different docks with the exactly same results. It also isn’t a bad phone since I get no distortions on audio via the phone’s audio jack with or without usb power connected directly to the phone.
Any ideas as to why this happens or rather how to eliminate these distortions?
I can confirm the Problem! Im using a I9000 with the Dock D968BEGSTD.

hello
Does anyone know where i can get a usb cable for the galaxy S5 so that i can charge it and get audio through the same usb 3.0 cable?
im trying to use the S5 as a headunit for my car since it can do just about everything i need (gps Pandora, multimedia, handsfree phone) than buying the same old boring car stereo. I read that the S5 already has a internal DAC so it should give me good clean audio. i already figured out how to control the S5 with my steering wheel buttons. i just can seem to find anything small enough to fit behind the dash to charge it and give me audio.
Hi, is there a way to make the note three's storage and xd card appear like a USB key to my cars stock stereo? currently when I plug a USB key into the stock stereo it recognizes the music I have on it. When in plug the note three in via a cable it does not recognize it. It would way more handy to have my music on one device rather than duplicated on the note 3 and a separate usb key.
Thanks in advance!
I have a Nexus 7 (2012) that I want to do a dash install with. I would like to retain my head unit (already relocated) for audio, and I have a few questions.
I mainly want the following features:
-USB Tether
-Bluetooth OBD
-Airstream (or otherwise) phone calls from iPhone through Nexus
-WIFI backup camera
-Bluetooth keyboard?
From what I've been reading it appears Timur's ROM is the way to start. It looks like with an OTG cable and a usb hub I can easily do usb tether.
I have a bluetooth keyboard that has its own USB dongle, I'm wondering if with that dongle I can be connected to the keyboard and the obd transmitter simultaneously
I saw an app that was available years ago to support airstream, but it seems to have disappeared. Does anyone know a way I can have the audio/mic go through my nexus for phone calls while driving? (Right now I use Bluetooth through my head unit)
I found the following parts, is there anything I need to avoid? Or anything I'm missing?
Tendak (Pack of 2) Micro USB 2.0 On-The-Go (OTG) Cord Cable Adapter with USB Power for Cell Phone Tablets
ORICO MPU-5S Auto Universal converter car inverter 12V 5 port smart charger for iphone 5 5S Car Charger Adapter By AFUNTA

I'm still trying to do more research on backup cameras, and the possibility of a dash camera. If anyone has any input on any of this I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance and I look forward to being a more active member of the community!
