[Q] S5 excessive reflective "flare" when taking pictures - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I attached a picture illustrating my problem with the S5 camera. If I take a picture in the sun, reflections just "flare" like crazy as seen in the photo. Sometimes the flare is so bad that it pretty much ruins the photos. I realize that if one takes a picture in the sun that there will be some reflections, but these are pretty excessive. I've had a few Galaxy phones over the years, and the cameras never used to do that. Is there a setting that I can use to get rid of those flares, or at least reduce them?
Thanks.

I can see the camera lens with some kind of cogwheel attached on it.
I haven't opened my device yet, but does this gear imply you can adjust the lens somewhat? Or is it only used for callibration, thus altering the wheel is no good idea at all?
Or am I wrong, and is it not a gear at all?[/img]
Umm, you might be on to something here. Altough, i wouldnt wanna touch it myself. I bet it´s already set to standard focus distance.

[SCREEN ISSUE] Screen emitting light from the side?

- Hello everyone! I am facing a weird issue with my screen and I want to know if it's just my phone having this issue or there are other people who noticed this. It's pretty tricky to see it, but I have this weird light coming from the edge of the screen, somewhere between the glass and the middle frame. I can only notice it when having a white app or image displayed on the screen. -
I covered the issue here and you can also check it in the pics below.

Is Slow-Sync Flash something we can add to our phones?

I just saw this picture and it's pretty cool! If the flash LED is controlled through software, then it should be possible without any hardware requirements, right?

That's pretty cool. The way flash should work in a perfect world.
Slow shutter + flash in the middle of the exposure... all software for sure, no reason samsung can't put that in.
Wonder why they made it look like its a selfie though, there's no flash in the front and you need a tripod to pull that off to be sharp.

Hi all
For this challenge I thought I would try and capture parts of my city as if I was a tourist to show off some of the beautiful parts of it. This task made me really think of the types of picture I am taking and I hope I have done this awesome phones camera some justice. I am by no means a photographer I just love capturing images that stand out to me or make me want to capture a memory. so with that said I will let the photos to the rest of the talking .
