When my smartphone is on, the batterylevel remains constant. But when I reboot it, the battery level decreased drastically --> See image
Has someone a solution for this? I've already tried to recalibrate te battery, but it hasn't helped...

My XDA2 suddenly shutdown when its battery level reach between 15-17% and its cannot be turn on again, and i have to wait for 10 min ,then its restart itself again. Does anyone have the same problem?. At first i thought it was program bugs that cause it, but after i done a hardreset, the same problem still occur. Thanks.
Haven't experience that yet. I think 15%-17% of battery level is in critical level that's why it suddenly shutdown. I think you just have to recharge your battery and don't let it reach 15% of battery level. It might erase your data files.
I've let mine go down to 5% and charged it and nothing happened, no hard resets or anything.

i'm have same problem too.
when the battery reach 18% it shutdown it self and cannot be turn on before i charge it.
can anyone help us?
i have noticed that the battery metter is completely unreliable
for example it shows 28% left (btw, i installed FInixNOverBattery for percentage indication) and after a soft reset it shows 41%
or it shows 50% and after soft reset it shows 31%
in this way i can never estimate how long the battery will last
does anybody faced this issue? any solution fot it? (i also tryed to calibrate by completely drain the battery followed by complete charge withe the device turned off)
thank you in advance!
noris08,
it is completey normal to experience big jumps in % after a reboot. The battery % is just a representation of the actual voltage of the LiPoly battery, which usually recovers (rises) quite a bit when there is no load on the battery (even for a short time).
maybe what you say it is true, but i never experienced this behaviour with any of my previous phones. and i had a few, including wm for a few years
and variations of 10-15% - i find them too big
I noticed the same thing. Any explanation for this? Or it is just that FInixNOverBattery is not reliable/compatible/accurate ?
Voltage may vary/jump around due to environmental changes and power consumption or voltage sensor may be insufficiently accurate to provide reliable voltage readings for 1% steps. This is one of the reasons why many battery drivers in WM only provide remaining charge percentage in 10% steps.
In this light, voltage on its own is not a sufficient indicator of remaining charge percentage. Other parameters, such as voltage deviation and other factors, such as power consumption and temperature may need to be taken into account to obtain a more accurate evaluation.
I once callibrated the battery without any need (maybe incorrectly) hoping it would improve the accuracy further but ended up in a problem!
Now my battery skips from 60% to 49%, 14% to 4% etc.
I tried callibrating the battery again many times (this time, correctly), but no luck.
It always skips those levels!
Anything I can do about it?

today i woke up and unplugged my nexus from charging.the battery was 100%
after 20 min, with all turned off, wifi 3g etc,i made a call.after finishing the call message came in my screen..."please charge your device,10% battery"
wow...i said,something is wrong,my eyes are wrong.i turned off,then on again,but battery still was at 10%...
after that i charged again...
anyone had the same problem?here in a forum in greece,2 people had the same problem..i have to say i am rooted and paranoid rom...
So first thing is to figure out is a hardware or software problem. Is your battery prematurely going bad? Or has some sort of software you installed caused this bug.
So if you do a full factory reset, putting stock kernel, and stock android os on it, then you can see if it was software or hardware, i.e. if it happens again it is a hardware problem, and if it doesn't then it probably was a bug with the rom you are using.
There's a small bug in the Nexus 4 that causes it to sometimes read off wrong battery values. Usually a reboot fixes this. So unless the same thing happens again, I would assume it's just an unharmful bug . A tip to see whether it's been actual usage or a bug that "drained" or drained your battery: go into android's battery settings. If the graph is running in a straight line from 100% to 10%, it's likely that it wasn't usage but a bug that simply read the wrong battery values. If it's actual usuage that drained the battery, the graph should show a more fuzzy, not-so-straight line.
Happens sometimes the other way, 10% to 100% in about seconds.
Hi,
I am having problems with my Nexus' battery, whenever I restart it, the battery percentage changes, this wasn't happening before.
Any ideas ? thanks
