At a minimum it should fix the CVE-2015-1805 vulnerability. If you see any other changes post here.
The bootloader and the radio are the same as mmb29v.

I'm not seeing that under Shamu Firmware. There is some stuff for it under Binaries, but not Firmware.
UPDATE:
Its showing up now.
This should be the list of the patches in this update. It's the April security bulletin.

Hey all. Ive been off the scene since July. I finally got my replacement N6. As soon as I turned it on, It had this update rarin to go so I installed it. Is this going to have any effect on unlock, root, custom recovery? I ask because it is brand new stock untouched other than the update.
Thanks Fellas

So, I was on the 6.0 Build for a long time but finally decided it was time to update. I moved up to this build and have had some issues. Before I just replaced the Hosts file to get ad blocking. But with the 6.0.1 builds the System is full. Easy workaround was creating a symlink to a hosts file that is placed in /sdcard/ But in this build it seems like it isn't doing any ad blocking. Anyone have any ideas why?
Thanks
Basically I have 3 wants aside from stock, I don't root so I can keep Android Pay, I want ad-blocking, and edit the Build.prop to net.tethering.noprovision=true
Hello all. Has anyone gotten V4A to work with this latest update? I flashed the latest version and ended up locked at the Google Screen. Thank God for backups.

No, its a Nexus. But look into the new SuperUser by Chainfire, it is systemless now. So version 2.67 or higher. Also the system partition is full now. You cant write to it without deleting a couple of items first like unused keyboards.
I have seen so many new versions of Viper, and as I said in my previous post I turned on my phone from brand new, fast boot, unlocked bootloader and rooted. I installed TWRP, version 3001. So at this moment I am stock rooted with TWRP version MMB29X. Can anyone kindly point me to the best and correct TWRP flashable version of Viper? Without V4A, I feel like I have half a phone. Thanks to anyone who can give me a hand. Peace guys.

I still haven't flashed it but have been listening to some Mobb Deep. MOB30D!
Anyone having issues with this release? Debating whether or not to flash my unit. I notice that the Nexus 7 WiFi has binary files available with a MMB29X release.
This is interesting....found this link on Sprint's website: https://community.sprint.com/baw/message/1038775
Almost seems like MMB30D was suppose to have been the mid-March security release.
Features/Enhancements:
•Revision of March Android Security Update to include new fixes
For those who flashed this MMB30D onto the Nexus 7, what is the date in ABOUT PHONE. Is it April 1 or April 2?

The last image for the Nexus 7 2013 razor that I see is still MMB29V.
So much for Google being responsive in getting security updates out. I would have thought that after making a big deal out of that mid-March kernel fiasco that they would have fixed and re-released the images for the three devices that they pulled for whatever reason on Monday. It's now the weekend and no explanation or update from Google. Why am I not surprised?
Build "MOB30D" again available for download via direct link.

I just factory defaulted my Nexus 7 (2013) device and installed this new factory image (MOD30D). Once I logged into my Google account, I got an email that I successfully logged into a Nexus 7 (2102).......2012??? WTF?
I wonder if there is/was an issue with the image's fingerprint where it would think that the 2013 model is actually a 2012 model.
Builds MOB30D for both models Nexus 7 2013, finaly, available in the list.

These monthly updates while obviously a good thing, there also kind of a pain in the ass. Every month I have to flash the new image, re-root the phone, use Titanium Backup, to go in and delete enough from sys partition, to flash Xposed, followed by flashing my beloved ElementalX kernel. Unless there is some way to streamline all that, a noob like me isn't aware of. Presumably we got just a couple weeks till the May security update anyway. I'll wait.

Sorry for the misspelling. I meant to say "without any problems" not "without many problems". In fact, the whole update process was smooth and fast. Everything works fine. I understand, however, that everyone's setup is different and my experience should not be the absolute rule.
Nothing here on my device. Although it might be because I'm in Sweden.

I've seen this post for a few days but not had time to respond till now.
I've got an SM-P605v. Haven't seen, or been able to download the update you've mentioned. This may be because I don't use Verizon as my connectivity partner, or it may be that my particular tablet's OS doesn't need the security updates that yours did.

I also have a SM-P605V but have Verizon as my carrier. I got the notification to update today. I don't see anything on VZW site about it nor under the specific SKU on SamMobile (still has 10/15/15 as the last official update). When looking at the SM-P605 model, there are some in the list (even today's date), though they are for non-USA countries.
Even so, it looks like they are still all Android 5.1.1, so it's likely just some minor tweaks. To my understanding, you would need to pop in an activated Verizon SIM to get the update for your specific tablet, as Verizon is the one that issues it. You can also wait until it's posted on SamMobile and manually do it. https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-P605V/

You should be able to flash this now that Sammobile posted it... https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-P605V/
I got this a couple of days ago - managed to odin flash after I put the wrong file and got the boot loader triangle a day before.
Its extremely stable and the tablets working like a dream - the only issue is no root.
Edit: I noticed a great improvement in battery management and it will charge to 100% from 30% in 4 hours before I flashed the 5.1.1 rom it took nearly 8 hours with a new(second hand) USB Flex connector and nearly 20 hours with the old usb flex connector to go from 30% to 100%.
I really like this tablet - it reminds me so much of my SM-N910F note 4.

Probably just a security update
Please excuse my silly question but I have P600 with 5.1.1 and never rooted. Do I need to install twrp before I update or it doesn't matter? Updates always make me uneasy with locking bootloader or needing new root methods.
If you just want to update then flash with Odin and the appropriate file. Try looking at sammobile.com for the appropriate rom file.
If you want root then you will need to install a custom recovery using CF auto or Twerp - the latter will NOT work on the SM-605v version as the bootloader is locked and will result in the yellow triangle and stating that the tablet has a strange recovery and that you should see a verizon technician. By installing the recovery you can then update the system or even try out new roms created by the people of this wonderful community.
Rooting will potentially stop business application with built in security from working - i.e. HSBC application, Virgin Media app and Sky Movies apps will not work on rooted phones to name a few.
I updated and rooted and everything is working ok. I had trouble with 64gb Sandisk microsd with "sd card unexpectedly removed" error. Then it mount itself back. Sometime it shows empty and asks to format and sometime it works. Also the lockscreen flicker and that usually when the card error happened. I suspect they are related and it happens only when waking up the device. The card works fine with all my other devices including my note 4 on stock 5.1.1. I'm not sure what caused it because I just used this sd card with the note 10.1 and then updated and rooted all in the same day.
Anyway, I removed the Sandisk and now I'm using 32gb Samsung and it only happened once for maybe 12 hours (could have been 100 times with Sandisk). Also, I don't notice the lockscreen flickering anymore. I will see if this problem comes back or it just that Sandisk doesn't play well my note. I have seen many people here reported similar problem with other Samsung devices for too many reasons. I don't believe file format is the issue but I'm using exFAT.

Worked fine for me. If you have modded your rom, then OTA will often fail.
I've been sideloading the OTA updates for months. Since Google made the check for updates function actually do something, thought I would go that route this time. It worked and immediately offered me an update. How can I verify that it's going to install NGI77B and not N6F27M? I'm on Verizon and currently on NGI55D.
I tried capturing a bug report and looking for the OTA link in the file but am not finding it. Maybe I should just sideload it.

I was getting monthly security update notifications on my Nexus 6 while using Verizon, however that stopped since moving to T-Mobile in April/2017.
I'm staying stock for now, because it seems easiest to maintain Android Pay, Snapchat compatibility, etc.
Does anyone have a recommendation on which build to use if I sideload? Would that be "N6F27M" since the other October release states "Verizon" ?
EDIT: I went ahead and sideloaded N6F27M, which seems to be working fine with T-Mobile thus far.
- ooofest
Does N6F27M include security patch against new hole in WPA ?
No, it will be in November security patch but it's not sure that Nexus 6 will receive it...
I'm on Fi but my phone doesn't give me the opportunity to update N6F27M, it does not show that there is an OTA available.
Could it be that the phone was a Verizon overstock which I flashed to NGI55D manually when I first bought it?
I suppose I will have to sideload the OTA.
Edit: Never mind, it finally came through.
November security patch is out for pixel and 2015 nexus, no new build for our good old Shamu so we will have to keep it with Krack security breach or install custom rom...
I have the Nexus 6P and had the new 8.x Oreo update pending for a few days now. Finally had time and patience for possible issues to get it done this evening. So.. I do a last update on apps, and the update freakin' DISAPPEARED on me! I go to settings/about/system update and it's now telling me that my system is currently up to date (on Android 7.1.2).
What the heck happened? And how do I get it showing up for me again?
If I where you I would just downloaded the firmware you want and flash it manually. That way you would have a clean start and likely avoid any hiccups. Of course that would mean you would have to unlock your bootloader and use a computer. Other then that there's no magic way to make the update appear. Use to be you had to sign up for the beta program but don't think that's necessary anymore.
