Calls - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What would cause the ID of all of my incoming calls to say "restricted"?

Got it fixed. Caller ID got messed up when activated VoLTE.

Caller ID was messed up when activating VOLTE.

So how did you fix it?

Caller Id not working, hardware issue?!?!

Hi,
Since a few weeks back my Trinity always shows Unknown as the user id of the incoming call.
At the beginning I thought it was Rom related, since I've been messing around with Mary's and Axel's roms. But I went back to the official one with same result.
I must admit that I have dropped the Trinity a couple of times. So I was wondering if anybody knows if this functionality is sofware or hardware related (maybe I damaged sth when dropping it?!?!)
Or maybe is some registry setting?!?!?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Elsral
I had the same problem before though i didn't update any ROM. Try downloading your telco settings again. (Network Wizard).
caller id is a service of your provider so if you disable it once il will always be disabled, whatever rom or phone you use
you can reactivate it in the settings>phone>service
Hi,
thanks both for your input.
I went to settings/phone/callerid/ and set to show to everyone.
However, I think this is only for the reverse process, to show your number to the person you are calling.
However, I still don't know who is calling me. Any other Ideas?
thanks,
elsral

Bump.
I've exactly the same problem since the beginning of january.
All the incoming voice calls are "unknown", no number is displayed.
But incoming SMS are ok, the sender number is correctly displayed.
I've reinstalled my network provider settings (Orange F), with no success.
Someone has a solution ?
Thanks.
try your sim card in another phone. i suspect your operator disabled it. you may want to give them a call.

You were right. It's same problem with my sim card in another phone.
I've called my network operator, he reset the parameters of my line, and it works now.
Thanks.

Caller ID not working

Hey guys,
Just wondering if this could be X1 related or service provider issue. When any of my contacts call me even if I have their number stored and they have caller ID active, my X1 says "unknown" incoming call instead of their name/number.
I don’t have a spare phone to try my sim in it to eliminate whether it could be provider related. I have also installed the HTC touch dialler and still says unknown caller.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks guys!
No such problem at all. Might well be you do not have the Caller ID service on this line?

[ZUK Z1] Keep Data alive and block all incoming calls only on one SIM

Hi Guys,
Long story short: my company is providing a very nice SIM with unlimited data and calls. Unfortunately there are very annoying clients and colleagues which are calling out of working hours.
So I would like to know if there is a way to block all incoming call and keep the data alive only on one SIM (meanwhile the other SIM -private- should be able to receive calls).
I have already tried one app called Root Call SMS Manager but unfortunately the app is a little bit buggy and is disconnecting the line randomly.
So you have any leads? Suggestions?
Thanks a lot!!!

Make a absolutely call forwarding on your own number of this sim. That's a loop and all callers will get busy [emoji1]

Hey Strongs,
Thanks for the lead! But I tried that way as well. It is a corporate number and USSD codes seems not to be effective. I have tried with *21* code and didn't work out. Also tried thru the Call settings menu and same cold dish. Do you know any other ways? I am on Telekom Germany carrier.
If call forwarding is blocked by the carrier I gotta find a way to do thru software I am afraid :\

OK, then **21*MYNUMBER# should forward all the calls on Telekom Germany? Which code are you using to revert it back?
Thanks a lot!

I forwarded with this code to my own number to get a loop.
Edit: I forgot to say, that you need one more sim to get the loop working.
So forward from sim1 to sim2 and from sim2 to sim1. Than the callers reaching on sim1 get busy.

Where is the "Caller ID Setting"?

Hey everyone,
my Axon seems to hide my phone number by default when I call other people.
I know that the phone is responsible for this because:
1. others can see my number when I call them with my old phone
and
2. when I put *31# in front of a number to basically override the phones setting the person I'm calling will see that it's me.
I feel like there is no setting to change the caller ID option in my Axon. At least it's not where it normally is (Call Settings, Additional Settings).
Does anyone have a similar problem or even better, a solution?
I asked about this on ZTE`s forum and never received a reply.
Okay, that's interesting.
I wonder why no one in the Axon 7 section talks about this issue. There should be more people with the same problem.
This is generally a carrier setting problem not a phone problem.
For T- Mobile not sure about ATT.
*67DN Activate Calling Line Identification Restriction (CLIR) for outgoing call
*82DN Deactivate Activate Calling Line Identification Restriction (CLIR) for outgoing call
In this case I know that it is not a carrier problem because I've tested it.
It might be worth mentioning that I own the European model and that I live in Germany.
Same for me, Europen Version and I live in Germany. Provider is O2. Switched from my HTC M8 to the Axon 7, had no hidden caller ID whatsoever on the M8.
Kind of annoying and I can't find anything to switch it off.
Anyone else has the same problem?

I live in France and my provider is Free Mobile.
The caller ID works for me.
My Axon 7 is a 2017G model with B05 firmware.
I've got news:
After dialing the gsm code #31# the phone is no longer automatically hiding my number. The strange thing is that this code is supposed to do something completely different: hide the number for the next call.
This still works after restarting the phone but after updating the software (bo5 to b06) I had to dial the code again which means that this method is only a temporary fix and this is something the ZTE devs have to look into.
Same here in Spain
I suscribe all your comments ace.infinity.
I'm in Spain, my carrier is Oceans. I'm in last build and with code *31# my name appears, I have to use it in all calls to be visible.
No solution found by the moment.

It is the phone setting itself that is now hidden from thre user menu that is actually hiding the number!
I was able to modify my caller ID setting by opening the phone app > menu> setting > call setting> SIM 1 or 2> additional setting.

Number not displayed when calling out

Hi all,
Just got my G6 H870DS recently.
When I call people, they don't see my number so I show up as an unknown caller.
I have been to the caller setting and set my caller ID to always show and it doesn't fix the problem.
I didn't change SIM card or phone carrier when changing phone and it was working fine on the LG G3.
This is only when making an international call.
Local calls display my number.
Anyone else having this problem?
Anyone know how to fix this issue?
Thank you
