[TRICK][AOSP]Avoid battery bug level - Galaxy S II General

Hello,
Galaxy S2 running AOSP rom have a battery bug since Android 4.4 (CM11, PA...)
The battery level loses ~20% from ~49% after normal reboot without charging.
Note that there is no issue after a soft reboot.
Ok, maybe you know that.
So, here a little trick to avoid this annoying battery bug :
Always do a soft reboot instead of normal reboot from the power menu :
With the xposed module APM+, modify the power menu to remove the normal reboot and add the soft reboot.

This issue is specific to S2 running Android 4.4 AOSP rom (CM11, slimkat...).
The battery level loses about 20% only if not charging and only if battery level was between about 49%-39%.
It's an old issue and it's relative famous from the users.

.
Buf, I had this problem with my old HTC Aria and with the S2 with every kind of ROM. I think it's just hardware. And only happens to me if the phone was being heavily used at the moment of the restart. And after restarted, sometimes the 1% would last for way more than it should and others the phone would turn off at 3%. I guess is just the battery monitor hardware being way off in different cases.
And it may be just me but I feel that a soft reboot is akin to set the PC to sleep and then wake it up. Ie, a real good reboot is needed when things start behaving weirdly.

how to revive this phone normolly???
Did you mess around with radio rom (phone.bin)?
Try to reflash it with COMPLETE (phone,pda and csc) new ROM, official
if possible.
You said:
"key combined hard reset not work."
That part of device function (battery charging also) is controlled by phone
part of ROM (phone.bin), so, it seems that problem is caused by faulty phone.bin.
Reflash it!

Sidenotes: on the first screenshot screentime was 45minutes and I made a call for 20 minutes. It's normal for android OS to appear at the top iff you dont use the phone but android OS cpu time was at 4 hours! On the second screenshots my phone drained more but that is because of the 2hours screentime/30minutes dialing and app restoring using wifi.
Problem: Android-OS drain Running Resurrection Remix ics v1.9.1[4.0.4]
FIX: Reinstall the Resurrection Remix ics v1.9.1[4.0.4] ROM using extended steps and the additional steps ive added.
1.Reboot into recovery
2.Wipe Data / Factory Reset
3.Wipe Cache Partition
4.Install the Main ROM
5.In recovery go to Advanced
6.Wipe Dalvik Cache
7.Fix Permissions
8.Wipe Cache Partition
8b. Wipe Data / Factory reset
9.Reboot
10.At first boot when the android logo appears and you can logon, REBOOT!
10. When booted dont logon yet but first use the camera app on the lockscreen. Exit the camera app using the back button.
11. Now logon to android and install apps etc
12. Enjoy android without android-OS drain.
Hope this helps.
Reply if it worked for you guys as well!

Your entirely misinformed post makes me sad.
Nothing fixes Android OS bug other than buying a non-Samsung phone. We have been discussing this on this forum since this phone was launched. Just search.
What bug? The OP has misunderstood what's going on. As you have.
Read up on it...

Thanks matey for your post ! It really helped me : You MADE my day !
I'm still experiencing far better battery life with the same ROM/kernel/apps/settings.
Placebo effect. You're in fact USING more your phone, that way, Android OS doesn't make it to the list (or has less percentage) because there are other consumption.
I can get various screens with percentagens just like that by using more or simply letting the phone sit in standby. I also have a high deep sleep usage in this case, mostly because I simply uninstall apps that misbehave...
actually nothing worked to reduce android os drain, till i froze googles contacts, browser and calendar sync with TB. after that my battery increased significantly and aos drain is completely gone. since i dont use them it is not an issue for me.

OS Drain
I found the new omega 7.0 JB had massive OS drain issues. Best bet for me was to change ROM. RR 3.1 with Dorimanx 7.4 is awesome, best combo I've used yet.

Broken camera or... else?

Interesting behavior lately, on my sg5. There are times (more and more often, recently) when neither Google's camera app, nor camera zoom fx show anything on the screen, as if there was no visibility through the actual camera hardware. Rebooting the phone brings back functionality, but only for a while (a few hours), after which the strange no image comes back.
I have also experienced strange "disappearances" of pictures I just took, which show up in a gallery app (the default, or quick pick), but which are nowhere to be found after closing the camera app.
Has anybody seen anything similar? I would really hate to go back to resetting to defaults - had rooted and xposed customized this phone to my liking. And - no - this behavior is not associated with any recent xposed activity / configs...

I have similar on stock, without root.
When I open up default camera application, there is no picture, just blank screen and phone becomes very laggy. Screen looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But it happens just sometimes.
E.g. once per 3 days and soft reboot is the solution.
Don't know the root cause Mine is SM-G900FD with BOC1 firmware.
Tried a factory reset already, but didn't help. Didn't try safe mode yet, as it might be related to some application e.g. facebook, viber, etc. which has access to camera.
Happens to my also since Lollipop on SM-G900F, tried the new stock BOC7 and now is better but it still there, the error and the blank screen. I noticed it happens more often in the evening/night. I've tried everything, wipe cache, reset camera. Hope Samsung will release a fix, no problems whatsoever on KitKat,

Battery Life with CM12.1

Hello,
I have my Nexus 4 now installed with the latest release of the CM12.1.
Attached I have some screenshots from one day battery life.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But I never used the radio so much. In the evening it dropped from 30% to 11% in around an hour.
My question is is the amount of Alarm wakeups normal? Those are 2.3/minute with the com.google.android.gms service.
Seems a little high for me.
I have no clue what service could take and generate the wakeups so much.
Thanks a lot for any help I can get.
best regards,
Mark
Try a different GApps package? I use this one: http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/?rom=banks&device=gapps
Can I simply install the package via twrp over my existing one or do I need to delete everything again?
You can but is alwyas better (at least IMO).
If you are with relatively fresh new install, always do the full wipe ecc.
Is just the hussle of 20 min and the initial credential....trust me this is nothing compared to wipe 10\15 roms in a day to try to fix it device and everyone has a problem that u don't like.
This is the good and bad part about Android. ^_^

To install a new GApps package, wipe system, cache, and dalvik, dirty flash your ROM, flash new GApps and wipe cache and dalvik again.
Hello again,
I installed now the mentioned gapps package.
Attached the batter performance for today..
BBS Stats File
Yesterday I was all the day home with WLAN coverage and I had ~40% left at 10pm with the same disconnect at around 6am.
So it must be someting with the 3G module. Also when you use the 3G actively it gets very fast warm on the back of the phone.
I have replugged it now with 17% at 5.30pm to recharge.
Any suggestions for me ?? Please :angel:
Try using Greenify to stop wakelocks. It's worth a try.

Everything smaller after uninstalling xposed framework

Hi, I ran into a strange problem while doing some modifications to my phone earlier today. While trying to address another minor problem that my phone was having, I decided to try to reinstall my xposed framework to see if I could fix the problem. However, after flashing the uninstall zip file using TWRP, when my phone booted back up, everything on my screen had become... smaller. Not just my icons, but the size of the the notification bar and things like the size of my system's text. I immediately went into and searched through all of the settings that I could find, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary (e.g. it said my font was already at 100% and condensed mode was off, and no luck either in my nova launcher settings). I re-flashed the xposed framework to see if it would fix the problem, but it remained even after reinstalling. It's honestly a minor issue, but I'm tearing my hair out because of it x(. I'm hoping that there's a solution that's right in front of me but I just can't seem to find ;A;
I'm using a Galaxy S7 Edge (international ver, so G935F) on Android 6.0.1 and the xposed framework that I'm running is v85.1 sdk23 arm64 by wanam.
Here's a comparison of how my screen looked before and after all this happened:

I think the problem is your DPI.
Navigate to settings>display>display scaling.
If your selected option is condensed, set it back to standard and reboot your phone.
I don't know how flashing the xposed framework changed it, but that's beyond me.
Good luck.

Thanks! It was not set to condensed, but after switching it to condensed and then back again it seems to have fixed the problem

Must have been displayed incorrectly. Glad you fixed your problem, though!
