Hi, I recently tried to flash my Verizon GS4 with the latest update but I failed so, anyway, I did back up most of my data but there were a few things like pictures that were in my internal memory that I didn't save. For example, my Whatsapp folder and my saved photos from Facebook automatically save to my internal memory. I looked to change the settings to direct where I want to save the images/documents but I did not see any option in those apps.
I was wondering:
Can I change the automatic download drive/folder so that everything goes to external memory?
and/or, can my external memory automatically copy everything from my internal memory that is downloaded synchronously?

I recently got a notice saying my device storage was critically low. I had no photos, word files or videos etc on the main device. Thinking the memory was being used by 'windows', I transferred my "windows" folder to my 2GB storage card.
Now I cant access any windows programs!!
Is there any way that I can retrieve this windows folder? And find out what is using up all my storage? Pls help!!!
1. hard reset.
2. probably temprary internet files or posts eat your space. Use memaid, to twerk registry (move all internet files to storage card)
2.a. mail attachments. - delete all unnessesery.
I would like to know how I can get IE to save all data to my storage card instead of the internal memory. I keep running out of memory, especially when running IE.
Also I'd like any general tips on how to save internal memory. I find that I'm running out too often. Is there unneeded files that can be deleted? Are there other tricks to fix this?
The IE cache folder is specified in the registry. Have a look at the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
There is a String value here called Cache, with a default of "\Windows\Profiles\Guest\Temporary Internet Files".
Create a folder on the storage card, e.g. "iecache", and change the value of Cache to "\Storage Card\iecache". This folder will the be used for the IE cache.
Thanks, that will help a lot! Does anyone know any other methods for saving memory on the devices internal memory? My device is always saying I'm low and I wonder if this may decrease the speed of operations also.
In the same line of concern where should I modify the registery to have Calls Note to be save to the storage card ?
Also when you synchronise with Active Sync, notes that are in your Microsoft Outlook how can I tell him to sync those notes on the storage card in a particular folder ?
Thank you
I used my S4 without a MicroSD first. I just noticed that it emulated an SDCard in its Phone Device. Now I have my 32Gb memory. Still, the default save path is my Phone Storage? For example, I saved a photo from Facebook. Instead, the pic was saved in my Internal memory and created another Facebook folder in there? The same goes for Instagram? I installed a map, the maps is in the External, but the app wants it to be in the internal? Why is the default path the emulated SDCard(Internal)? How can I get rid of that? I'm on I9505 LTE. 4.3 stock. Rooted phone. THANKSS!!

I have photos set to save to SD - but although they're showing up in a separate 'SD' folder in gallery, they're not really being save there, and fill up the internal memory! Any ideas on fixing this?
Handset is rooted, running Android 4.2.2.
Guys as usual I was talking backup via PC.
I found two folders into my Internal memory named SDCARD0 & SDCARD0.
I thought it must be a duplicate and deleted one of them.
Immediately I found I lost all my data from Internal memory.
Folders like whatsapp, dcim, movies and all other whcih were created by other apps got lost.
So has i actually accidentally deleted them due to sdcard0 folder or they are present but HIDDEN somewhere?
Coz still my internal memory says 3.60gb free which was same size before doing this unusual accident.
My phone hasnt got any root access.
Please how can I get back my files in this case?
My all apps r functioning properly except they lost all their custom settings...
What can be done to get my data back from Internal memory?
What you can do is, NEVER DELETE SUCH FOLDERS AGAIN.
To be aware of this in future, have a backup via foldersync or similar...
The chance that ull get ur data back going against zero...sorry
-EDIT: REQUIRES ROOT-
Oh you can do it. Did it myself a few weeks ago..

is there no way of running recovery software when plugged into a PC? I know I saved a lot of data from a camera while back by scanning its memory in recova or something similar while hooked up via usb
You should do some research first if you don't know something
