No need to change boot-loader, on Tab 10.1 LTE SM-605. I installed open recovery TWRP openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.1-lt03ltexx.img.tar. It workes fine!
Absolutly useless thread with no info of running system - jelly bean or kitkat. And wrong section mate. You need to upgrade the bootloader if you want to flash custom roms, otherwise the rom didnt boot up. We have knox bootloader since 4.3, so where is the problem to upgrade the bootloader?
Hi guys,
I've had screen mirroring issues since i rooted my device. I read that CWM is the main source of this problem. Therefore i want to remove it without losing my root access So i need the stock
recovery file of note 3 n900 lollipop. Pls help me.
i have galaxy s4 i9505 and i want to know if i need to unlock the bootloader in order to instal custom rom(cyanogen).the phone is in stock condition(not rooted no roms or anything)ive checked the first 10 pages of google results and some guides say i if i dont unlock the bootloader i will brick the phone and some say i dont need to unlock it.i searched this forum aswell but i just end up with 100 tabs open and still cant find my answer.
The only thing you need to do is this. Install TWRP using Odin, then flash your ROM using TWRP. The only mention of locked bootloaders comes if you own an AT&T or Verizon Galaxy S4. Those two models have a locked bootloader that cannot be unlocked, and attempts to change the bootloader on those devices have led to soft bricks which can be resolved by flashing the correct bootloader in the BL slot in Odin.
Attempted to root T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime (Lollipop 5.1.1) with Kingroot; phone halted startup and booted me to the "Custom binary blocked by FRP" redirect. Had to wipe my phone and return to default Lollipop. How can I remove the FRP/KNOX protection and successfully root the phone? These Samsung a******s are beginning to piss me off!
This may be a noobish question, and if so I apologize, but searching didn't come back with anything concrete.
I have an S7 Edge, the Exynos version, which I have rooted via Chainfire's autoroot. I have NOT installed TWRP or any other custom recovery.
Do I need to leave OEM unlock enabled, or can I safely disable it again without soft-bricking the phone? I gather from my search that having a custom recovery installed and disabling OEM unlock will cause a "soft brick", but will the same occur with only the root in place?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
While I'm not sure, I don't know why you would want to disable it back. Is there any specific reason?
Since you still are running stock rooted firmware I believe it won't softbrick, but at the same time you are running a modified system (since you rooted), so I wouldn't risk - there's a "software status tag" which says if it's modified or not, when you unlock root access with Chainfire method it will trip Knox and put modified on the tag.
All the best,
~Lord
