When I had my Sprint S3 the data icon would disappear when connected to wifi to free up more space in the notification area. Is it possible to do this? My friends AT&T version does this but Verizon doesn't.

I heard that it's a Verizon "feature". I have not read of anyone finding a way to make it go away when connected to WiFi as before.

So i feel like an idiot and i went through the online manual searching the "icon" and couldn't find this one.
I'm sitting in my office, WIFI is on but not connected, and i have 4GLTE going.
However next to the 4GLTE icon is an icon that is a house or "Home" with curved antenna bars above it. What is this? Is it basically telling me there are wifi networks available?
Thanks
Verizon G2 btw
Mind posting a picture of it?

Oh, you mean Verizon does? I don't know why they have to show it to me.
Weird...Thanks though!
Hmmm, I noticed that as well, but I can't remember where I was when I saw it - I know at the time I didn't imagine someone having a network extender there though.
It a network extender icon because it's what I have at home and I for the life of me didn't know what that icon was until I tried unplugging my extender and the icon disappeared. On my GNex it would show a R where the 3G/4G symbol was. Now this phone tells me my extender signal, my wifi signal and my 3G/4G signal at the same time. Love this phone. :good:
it's an extender that your building has bc you guys don't get good verizon service there..so someone got the extender which helps boost signal. home icon means network extender.

This is great and is working like a champ on my AT&T G3. It also unlocks the brightness and volume sliders in the notification pull down. We all know that the AT&T variant is missing those lol.
Doing this also gets rid of the annoying AT&T logo in the top left of the screen ?.
This is great thank you its working

Is there any way to get rid of the leaf in the left hand corner for battery saver besides turning battery saver off? I'm using the first mod.
on my optimus g pro (e980) it disable the tethering....somebody can confirm that tethering work once mod are done on the g3??
I don't have these two entries in my current buildup. So can i safely add them? What would be the default when you DON'T have them?
I did this to my att g3,everything is good... But now my WiFi does not save my settings.. I have to connect and enter my WiFi pw... Any idea or a fix for this....

I do not have that issue at all on my AT&T G3. I used the first one for the international icons and everything is working for me. Try to forget the network and re-add it.
Is the hotspot toggle in the notification panel after mod?

Okay I tried this on my att g3,and this is what I found...
Changing...
country to CA
Operator to TLS
Does what it says but I'm having problems with my WiFi not saving, on reboot I have to reconnect to WiFi, it seems to forget the network... Also from time to time the screen sleeps, but I am unable to wake up the screen... And the only way is to pull the battery... The screen is black but I can hear items being selected as I touch the screen...
Changing...
country to US
Operator to OPEN
Everything works even the WiFi, but I lose tethering hack...
It's anyone on att g3 having these problems when changing build prop... Or does anyone know what I can do or any other build prop settings to get the international icons and menus... Thanks in advanced...

I'm on the AT&T G3 and I am using the international icons. I had the screen issue for the first day but after the phone settled for a day or two that issue went away. As for the tethering issue I am not seeing that on my device. I used it for about 20 mins to make sure it works and it's running flawless. Also no problems with my WiFi. I'm running ART but don't really know if that would make a difference.
On the att850 and had no problems with this tweak for a week. Yesterday my wifi settings started dropping on reboot. Changed this in the build prop:
wifi.lge.patch = false
Seems to save my networks now after a reboot

Same here. Every reboot I have to reenter my WiFi passwords lol
I got Claro on Puerto Rico and this 3 settings non work for me.
Thanks a lot great work
I haven't seen any reports of bluetooth or wifi tethering not working while in a phone call but that is what is happening to my nexus 4. I'm using Purity rom with a hybrid radio and have LTE enabled. Whenever I make a phone call, the data connection type letter on the signal bars in the notification drop down disappears. It's like the data connection completely stops.
If I am not tethering and make a phone call, the data connection type letter stays active and I can use the connection with various apps. It only seems to cut out when I am tethering with either bluetooth or wifi. Is this a normal problem? I was thinking I might have to apply the tmobile tethering fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...s-4-lte-lte-tethering-hotspot-t2416822/page41
to fix it but wasn't sure it was still really necessary in 4.4.4 or that this problem was even related. I thought that fix was for if you kept being redirected to the upgrade page of tmobile. My plan is truly unlimited 4g (not the 2gb of high speed data then throttling down to 2g speeds) and tethering is included. I'm not being redirected anywhere. The data connection just stops. I was thinking this was a problem with 4.4.4 since it has never happened to me on other versions.
I'm pretty sure that the way Mobile data works makes it impossible to both call and receive data at the same time.
Mine does the same thing on my sprint galaxy note 4. I am rooted using the native tether (unpaid). As soon as I receive a call, tether looses connection and stops.
I'm coming from a sprint galaxy note 2 with the same setup. I've never had this problem in the past. I was able to tether and use other apps during calls. The only difference, from what I can tell, is that my note 2 said "4g",and my note 4 says "LTE". Help please....

Hi. On my gm-g900i (australian) s5 i have the latest XtreStoLite installed with the correct bootloader & modem.
For some reason at all times it shows 4g in the status bar, even when i am not in an app that requires internet. It will only drop to 3g when i am in a poor signal area.
Why does this not dynamically change based on apps used, as it did in kit kat? Have i done something wrong? I am after the power saving of 3g for background data, then 4g when using an app like facebook, chrome etc. This was automatic before?
thanks in advance.
If you're in a 4G enabled area, it'll connect to 4G
If you don't want it to, disable mobile data
Hello, This may be a simple question, but it's puzzling me at the moment.
I have a Galaxy S4 , rooted and running Hyperdrive 21. I haven't changed any setting in the past few weeks. For the past couple of days, the 4G icon will show up in the top bar, while on WiFi. It has never done that before. When I connect to WiFi the signal indicator was always there, but the 4G icon was not. I always relied on this to know if I was using my cell data or WiFi. Now I don;t know if the phone is using 4G or Wifi?

Mine will only show the 4G icon when I'm sending or receiving a MMS at home on WiFi. Could that be what's happening?
No, I'm not sending or receiving a mms
