I realize the phone only came out a couple of days ago, but me and probably a lot of other people on this forum would like to know the quality of the Athena's 3 Megapixel camera. Having said that , post pictures taken by it !

OK SupraSkylineSTI. I've done a few, but because most of them are personal family pics of my kids, I can only upload a few for now, but definitely more in the week.
Now bear in mind these are the default settings and all I have changed in the camera menu settings is 'half press' as opposed to the default 'Full Press', as full press requires you to have very steady hands. Also photos have not been altered in any way, just resized according to forum rules.
I actually have to admit, that these are the best photos by far that I have seen taken by a HTC designed PPC/PE. I'm sure with some settings tweaking, they can be much improved. Nokia or SE camphone it is not, not even comparable, but bloody good all the same. Colour reproduction is also very good and accurate for outdoor shots. All 3 photos were taken in Auto mode, so changing the setting to the appropriate one is sure to improve things a little.
Thanks for your contribution man !!!!
Can you upload one full-size photo of something, so we can truly see camera quality ?

Galaxy S camera samples

In all the arguing about lag, screen and firmware issues I haven't seen any actual discussion on the Galaxy's camera. I have yet to compare it directly to the iPhone 4's camera, but I'm really impressed with this one coming from an iPhone 3GS.
I have been taking some sample shots over the last few days to see how it looks, most of them have been slightly processed with phone apps like photoshop mobile and vignette, but I feel every photo needs to be retouched and no camera takes perfect pictures on its own.
I'm not able to post full links yet, but copy and paste this on a different tab to see my samples.

shooting with my own settings :3
im a hobbyist photographer
i'm wondering, perhaps you(or someone) could do a well set up test of the camera of the note 2? i'm curious about the performance as mine is yet to arrive.(eta 1 week)
test setup example:
a full size(detail) daylight, shimmer, shimmer with flash, night and night with flash, macro and distant would be nice to see a comparison of, and if you have one, a reference card (i.e. contrast and color range) ISO range test (noise) and is the white balance with flash alright?
all this information would be nice to have available (perhaps post results to wiki)
Anyone else notice pictures and videos coming out dark?

Performance
Could you also comment on the performance of the camera in terms of shutter lag and speed of camera app launched from lock screen?
Here's a HDR mode shot
And a lil standard pic
Thanks for these, although they are downsized quite a bit from the fullres originals they look very good with sharpness and few if any visible artifacts common to cellphonecameras. Except for the second image which has a blown out sky and a bit strong contrast on the chrome parts.
Keep the pics coming, i wanna see more!

A few more randoms from work i just snapped
Thanks for the photos guys, please post more...I can't wait to get stuck into my GN2!
Wow those are crisp and sharp! it seems to expose pretty well. This is exciting news!
I see some colornoise in some images, but it's not bad at all..

More images please... I'll be posting a few as soon as I have the phone.
In the shade
In the sun
Looking good Twistedchild420, thanks.
Thanks guys^^^^^^
Here is a gem from earlier
seems like the Note II's cam firmware tend to overexpose and wash out the colours a bit by default.
unless u do some further tweaking in settings like what OP did, then u should be able to get good photos. I think a cam fw update is required to improve the image quality. I will judge again when there's more sample pictures (shot in default auto settings).
Not mine, but from Note 2.
Here you can find many Note 2 vs Galaxy S3 and some Note 2 photos.

raw/DnG samples

Hey guys!
Can anyone please upload a few raw/dng images somewhere in a variety of lighting conditions? I expended quite a bit of effort googling for samples, but only found one on a french forum.
I still haven't bought the G6 & this would be extremely useful to help me decide, thank you!

Is there a way to get RAW (dng) photos with the monochrome sensor?

I know that Essential dropped an update that made it possible to shoot video with the monochrome sensor but I would be more interested in getting RAW files from the sensor. I have searched the internet and XDA as well and I haven't found anything on the topic. Huawei has had this sensor for awhile now and I know there is an active community here. So, has there been any mod/app made that would give me this?
If not I could settle for video if somebody has toyed around with that [emoji1] Thanks in advance [emoji106]
You can try FreeDCam to see if applicable. Unfortunately, There are lots of things to tune in order to get the correct tune.
I personally have HuaWei P9. After I tried that app. At least Can do it right.
I likebto know if the magic code in that app is still effective with P10. I can take Black and White Film with that.
I also have posted some demo on youtube, and finding a way to fine tune Or I need to borrow colorchecker passport to tune a bit further.
