ive benn doing my own builds of cm 10 for my i9300 for about 3 weeks and haven't hag any problems with it, i purchased a N7 at the weekend and thought i would do my own build for this device too, i got the proprietary files from github.com/themuppets and placed the in the vendor folder just like i had done with my i9300. my build finishes with no errors, but when i've flashed it and try to boot i get the google logo then it flashes and doesn't get any futher (no boot animation). any advice would be appreciated.
I'm having a major issue with my phone. I installed TWRP version ending .2 and been using roms with no issues. I also never had an issue with my GS3 in the past. In any event, I recently tried to install the FREEGS4 rom and it initially loads fine. However, when I rebooted, it froze at the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo screen. I tried formating data and reflash rom. It flashes fine and loads fine initially.. but when I reboot, it freezes at logo screen. I tried to flash another custom MDL rom and it loads fine initially but freezes at reboot.
I tried to ODIN back to stock MDC. It flashes fine but when it auto reboots, it freezes at Samsung Galaxy S4 logo screen. I tried to ODIN back to stock with MDL rom. Same issue.. The only way I can get the OS to load is if I install TWRP and I do a quick flash of a ROM. It will intially load the ROM fine but if I power off or reboot the phone, it will freeze on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Logo screen.
Does anyone what could be causing this and any recommendations on how to fix it?

Before flashing a new ROM, did you clear dalvik and cache?
Yes. I always do. I even tried formatting data. I also tried odin back to stock rom. I am using the phone now because it boots the first time after flashing a custom rom. I havent rebooted since but as soon as I do, it will freeze and I would need to re flash custom rom. Stock rom freezes too

When you Odin back to stock did you do another factory reset after boot? You need to do 2 factory resets after boot also wipe system when flashing ROMs.
i have the same issue as you.
idk if this fixed it but i went back to the stock recovery and did a factory reset twice rebooted my phone then installed twrp. flashed freegs4 and now my os boots up with no issues.
Hi!
Today I got a notification that there was an OTA ready. After installing the OTA my S4 keeps rebooting. It only works for 5-10 seconds and then it reboots. Not a complete reboot though, I don't have to type my pin again I just get the blue-purple ring and the samsung logo.
I've tried booting into recovery and did a factory reset but it still reboots:crying:
My S4 is the international version and it is completely stock and not rooted.
What do I do?
Thanks
EDIT: I started from scratch without importing apps and settings from google at it seems to have done the trick
So i have been using Android L pv-79 Developer preview since it first came out flashing updates and kernels without an issue. Today i flashed a newer kernel by defconoi switched on intelli thermal and uv by 75, everything was running normal for hours. I take my phone out of my pocket and its on the google boot logo. Tried booting into recovery but it still stuck on the google boot logo. So i fast booted cam recovery nothing happened then i fast booted the 4.4.4 stock image successfully and I'm still stuck.. some assistance on this matter would be really helpful. Need to fix this before work.
Thanks
Edit: Fastbooted 4.2.2 and still the same issue.
I was updating to CM11 M11 on my Nexus 4 and it wouldnt update, it would get stuck at the CyanogenMod Boot screen and the same happened when i tried going to CM 11 M12 from CM11 M10
I wasnt flashing new roms, i was updating using OTA updates on my N4.
A Factor reset got me past the boot screen but is there any way around the factory reset?
