I'm in for the first to do it, with 20 GBP too, if open source and info is explained.
£10 here too
10$ from me for our devices.
I think if D855 bootloader is unlocked, F400 is similar

Stupid question time..... But trying to learn
Would it make a difference to the way it works if it was bypassed rather than full unlock? If we can get a work around that allows recovery's rom's ect what difference would it make?
Feel free to explain like you're talking to the village idiot lol.

I would like to through a challange to all the developers...
I have being looking for a software that can help me manage my phone contract.
The idea is to have a setup that allows to choose the network then costumise the by saying the number and type of free minutes and messages. setup minute cost and message cost.
Then a weekly or monthly statiscal report can be taken so can be compared with the monthly bill.
Does anyone wants to accept the challange?
I'll challange you to do your research better.
Phone Dashboard gives you the minutes, you calculate the cost..
and there is another that does the cost as well.. you do your research and tell us the name of the software (Hint, you can find it in this forum).

Mates great news.
DavinciTeam also introduced SIM unlocking service for xperia Neo,Arc,Play phones.
i successfully unlocked my Xperia Neo with this service
i purchased 50 credits(min allowed) for 30$ directly from the website and unlocked with the client software
this is tespoint unlocking service(dont panic its very easy)
the good thing is it unlocks our boot loader as well
for Sim-unlock just cost 10 credits only.
since the main website doesnot have the proper tutorial, i'm writing the brief steps to help the people facing problems.
steps:
1. purchase the credits(50) from davinci website
2.pay using paypal service
3.get the customer ID, username and passwprd
4.log in using user id and password in the main website
5. go to your user area and enable your account
6.Download the latest client SW from the website
7.start the client and enter your customer ID and password
8.Once the client starts connect the cable to the phone by pressing back key(flash mode)
9. client will detect it and will show the available services
10.select the unlocking service(10 credits) and press go
NOW your attention is really required
client will ask for test point link, here remove the cable and battery from phone
check tutorial section video for the test point in the website.
11.connect the test point with the ground(-ve), sim card metal is ground so u can connect with that.
12.hold the test point link and attach the usb cable to the phone, wait for 5 sec and the press OK on the client
13. within few sec client will ask to remove the test point link. just remove the test point link alone.. thats all the tool will finish the rest
14. when prompted as Done!! remove the cable
Now ur phones sim-lock and boot loader should be unlocked.
thanks for reading this.. i followed the above method, since the tutorial provided in the davinci website lacks informations so i took opportunity to write here.
i hope it helps..
why pay $30 when I can pay just $20 on omnius and its quick as well.
Grate!
I ask a stupid question, is it could fix the brick that down grade ?

Though we pay 30 dollars we can unlock 5 phones. We get 50credits but the service only needs 10 credits. Thats pretty cheap rite??
@shryau. I'm not sure about it. Sorry. Can u explain in detail??
is it available for xperia arc s?

Does davinci support to relock bootloader.
If not, they arent good
Hi guys - this is Chris from DavinciTeam/SIMLOCK. Just a note that we have lowered to price of all SE unlocking to $20 USD until December 1 when purchased via SIMLOCK.com and we're working on potentially discounted pricing on a permanent basis in the new year.
NOTE: I'm just looking to get in on the action here, not spam in any way, and so omitted a link above.
On an unrelated note, I've been a long-time lurker here at XDA and just rooted a Nook Color last night using the tools supplied by devs here so cheers for that

why you have to pay credits when there is setool1?
I had a horrible experience with Davinci Team back with my K850i. They advertised a service they didn't provide and refused to refund even after I linked the howardforums thread with others who were pissed off. I had to escalate through paypal, which did not want to offer me purchase protection since I received my "credits" (which were worthless). After calling multiple times I finally received a refund.
To top off the above, davinciteam banned my account on their site which wasn't a big deal, but continued to spam me with their newsletters for years via email. I was not able to opt-out of the system because they do not provide a unsubscribe link (in violation of the CAN-SPAM act). After multiple attempts to contact via email I finally received a nasty response and they finally stopped the newsletters coming in.
I'd pay extra money to any service to not deal with davinciteam. Aside from paypal it was one of my worst online merchant experiences. Be warned.
Does it work for SE Arc S (LT18)?

Hi Joe Ouch, I'm sorry to hear all of that, though I do need to clarify a few things:
1. We have offered full services for the K850 for many years, since only a couple of months following its release, and so there was never a time that we couldn't have offered flashing/debranding or SIM unlocking services.
2. We do have a no-refund policy where credit purchases are concerned - this isn't meant to throw anyone off but is simply meant as protection for us and is in accordance with PayPal's own policy regarding "intangible goods." This is why credits are universal and non-expiring - no one is ever out of pocket.
3. I personally compile our newsletter and have since its inception and the instruction to unsubscribe has always been in the footer - not a direct link but rather instructions to opt-out via the customer area. This same customer area functionality has always existed and still does.
Now, on the flipside of things: our newsletter opt-out options suck and a single-click solution should have been in place years ago - I am actively working on this now. Also no one (I hope it wasn't me!) should have taken anything but a lovely tone with you in correspondence so let me apologize if you experienced anything but.
Give me a shout directly at [email protected] - I'd be happy to offer a free service if it would help to patch things over and convince you to give our services another chance

Thats why its best if you think you are going to be ripped off by Paypal / the people who deal with it then make sure that you use a credit card then if people try to defraud you then you can just cancel the paypal direct debit and instigate a chargeback. (Its your legal right far too many scammers on the internet these days and its sad that its necessary - but alas it is).
Well, I've used Davinciteam several times without a single issue and haven't had any issues with PayPal either (but with other PayPal users).
One bad experience doesn't a comprehensive evaluation make.

1. Apologies, upon checking my records it was actually my shortly lived TM506 and not the K850i. This dispute was back at the end of september 2008. Paypal likes to destroy records of comments, I have the two disputes I made and the transactions applicable, as well as the confirmation number from davinci. Here's probably the thread I linked from howardforums at the time, btw it's not me reporting, others got the cold shoulder from you guys on this issue. http://www.howardforums.com/printthread.php?t=1436442&pp=30
2. One of the things I *do* have still is the emails confirming my account was banned from davinci. Assuming you have the ability to ban or revoke credits and a way to track them, there is no reason why you should not be able to refund a payment for a misadvertised service. It's poor business practice. Even paypal realized this and had a live person review and reverse the transaction based on the evidence I provided (and against their written policy).
3. Thanks for acknowledging that the newsletter opt-outs suck. It took me two years to get off the list. I made two simple one line "unsubscribe" attempts on 10/31/08 and 3/3/09 . I also tried the link in the newsletter to access my account (which was inaccessible due to ban). Eventually on 6/29/10 I emailed this:
> Message :
>
> Please stop sending me emails. I did not have a good experience with your
> service and would not like to be reminded of it every day. I cannot
> unsubscribe since my account is blocked from changing settings.
Fairly promptly I received the reply:
Hello,
no problem, we had also not such good expirience with you!
Thanks,
Tim
Davinci Support Team
Again, I'd like to remind you, I made repeated requests to stop receiving solicitation over the course of TWO YEARS, I think enough was enough.

That's just the thing, they are supposed to be a reputable company, I expected a civil response and not having to escalate through paypal. It was clearly their mistake and I'm not the only victim. As my record and the thread linked show, they did not handle the situation professionally. As for the advice of using a credit card through paypal, I do so knowing it's a one shot deal. You agree in the paypal policy to not chargeback merchants through CC. If you do end up in a bad situation like this and issue a chargeback, you can expect to lose your paypal account for life.
The only thing I like about that reply is that my name isn't the one signed under that email It looks like you ended up with one of our developers there; suffice it to say that their bedside manner may need some work!
At the time of that problem I was playing a less-pronounced role with decision-making and so I'll have to refrain from trying to explain and skip directly to the apology. We definitely don't make a habit of ignoring any problem.
As I said above, I'd be happy to make it up to you with a free process in the name of renewing your faith in our product and people - give me a shout any time

I was wondering if anybody would be interested in pooling money together to buy a HTC Javacard?
Like what this gentleman did here in the Verizon HTC One Forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427960
I can secure a deal to get a HTC Javacard for $700 / 500 Credits.
2 Credit = S-Off
1 Credit = Sim unlock
I'm hoping to get anywhere between 7 to 10 individuals to pool into this.
The javacard can s-off any hboot version as well as perform SIM unlocks.

Located in United States, Southern California (San Gabriel Valley).
And these Javacards are not device specific. As long as you have the right diag files, they work on any HTC Phone. However, I don't own a One X, so I have no interest in going to that device forum.
To be honest, I only need to use it one time, then I'm willing to send the HTC Javacard dongle to the next individual to use and so forth.
If I can get 10 individuals, it's only $70 a person. Or if someone wants to chip in more, that's fine too. I'm sure you can end up making lots of money off of it by having people pay you to s-off their phone.

How would it work? - you would send the card to each person who would unlock his phone and pass the card to next one?

The card actually costs around $1000
It's a good idea, but it's based on trust.
You have to trust each person to post it on.
It also means the 10th person gets to keep a $1000 piece of kit for just $70.
Much safer to find a shop that has one and post your device to then.
Think foneshop on forum does the s-off with javacard for a fee.
Would also be an idea to create a STICKY on the forum that lists all the javacard s-off suppliers.
You can then see who is most local and give feedback on the forum.

1000usd / 10 people means that in case something happens everyone looses only 100usd what is an acceptable risk (for me) than loosing my phone. Yes - it's based on trust but it's pointless to undergo a bigger risk than necessary when there is a much comfortable way how to do that. Also sending my phone from Europe to USA and back means no phone for several weeks what is not acceptable as I have no replacement phone for this one I am using for work...

Like I said, shop around.
There are already companies offering the s-off service all round the world there are closer ones to you than US.
There are some in Europe. Just read the other s-off topics on the forum, they mention a few.
A lot less risk sending your phone to a genuine company that finding 10 gullable strangers to risk $100 each for something they may brick their devices if done wrong or damaging the device or someone running off with the money or device.
I would love to get in on this, pm me!

E: False alarm. ATT doesn't understand the difference between SIM and bootloader....
Finally. Some of you may have read through some posts or threads by me. The latest update by LG for this phone really irked me yesterday. The update installed without me choosing to, and now includes a persistent notification that can only be dismissed by having mobile data on. I had both ATT and LG on chat for almost two hours this morning trying to get some answers. So.
Without further ado, there is a way to unlock our bootloaders. I'm kind of surprised this hasn't already come up.
Prereqs
Devices must:
* Be designed for use on, and locked to, the AT&T network. (Questions? See Device unlock support. )
* Not be reported lost or stolen
* Not be involved with fraudulent activity
* Have all service commitments and installment plans completed and all early termination fees paid in full
* Not currently be active on a different AT&T customer’s account
You will need your IMEI. Go to the ATT unlock website here and submit your IMEI and case. They should get back to you within 72 hours with an unlock.
My device is currently on a plan, but I figure someone here has one paid off or is able to do so. I am willing to pay it off if someone wants to make headway in getting things going here.

Sorry to burst your bubble but that's Sim unlock not bootloader unlock. You might want to do a little research before posting something like this. AT&T has never & will never make it that easy to unlock the bootloader on any of their devices except Htc they are the only manufacturer that allows bootloader unlocking even AT&T versions.

Hello all!
This is my first bounty thread created so if by any means I am missing anything, in the wrong forum, or this is not allowed (MODS) please PM me before infracting!
As we all know, the international variant (of course) has already been unlocked with custom recovery (TWRP).
This thread is a bounty thread for the USA Snapdragon variants of the S8 and S8+.
This includes but not limited to said devices on TMO, ATT, SPR and VZW.
As we all know all the US variants have the SAME model numbers.
There is a USERDATA partition that appears to be carrier specific but outside of this the stock TAR is the same and flashable to any US variant within the US.
There is also (so far) a factory binary firmware for each variant (S8/S8+)
So far we have achieved PERMISSIVE selinux on stock firmware. This factory binary can also help in repairing IMEI, DRK, FRP bypass etc. IF you know what you are doing.
Requirements to obtain bounty:
S8/S8+:
1. Full Root that sticks after a reboot
2. Files/Instructions for the end user to achieve said root.
3. At least 5 users/testers OTHER THAN those involved in the original process have used said method and verify successfuly rooting their device.
4. Work is original and collaborated and not taken from another user without their consent.
5. Root is maintaned even after a full reboot (i.e.perm root, temp root is not sufficient.)
6. Method (once achieved) is shared free of charge on XDA.
7. Proper credits are given to those involved in the process.
8. Similar files/process are also applicable for BOTH VARIANTS ( S8 & S8+.) With both devices being very similar, if an ENG or DEBUG firm etc. is leaked we would receive a version for each device.
9. *** FOR BL BOUNTIES, ABOVE REQUIREMENTS WITH FULLY WORKING TWRP RECOVERY
EDIT* There will be 4 separate bounties within this thread. All will have above requirements (BL Unlock and fully working TWRP Recovery is ONLY required for TWRP bounties). 2 will be for the S8 (G950U) and the other 2 for S8+ (G955U).
If you find a method for perm root on both devices at once, you will get BOTH BOUNTIES.
ANY USER WHO SPENDS MONEY TO PURCHASE LEAKED FIRMWARE SUCH AS ENG OR DEBUG THAT DIRECTLY LINKS TO PERMANENTLY ROOTING EITHER OR BOTH DEVICES WILL GET THE FIRST PAYMENTS TO REIMBURSE MONEY SPENT TO PURCHASE SAID FIRMWARE.
The rest will be divied up between those responsible for the perm root.
In order for devs attempting root and to achieve bounty you must join Hangouts group by pming me for an invite. This way we know FOR CERTAIN who is responsible for purchasing firmwares and/or putting in the work to get us perm root so we can know who the bounties go to.
If any mods would like to be in the HO to moderate and/or monitor legitimacy are welcome to join.
DONATIONS ARE NOT REQUIRED. THIS IS A BOUNTY THREAD. YOU PROMISE A CONTRIBUTION, WE HOPE YOU KEEP YOUR WORD AND PAY OUT IF ABOVE CONDITIONS ARE MET. THIS BOUNTY IS FOR PERM ROOT, UNLOCKED BL IS NOT AN EXPECTATION BUT WOULD BE MORE THAN WELCOME IF IT OCCURS.
If the bounty is satisfied, we will determine at that point in time where to donate the funds via paypal. Funds will most likely be sent to a mod or myself and then divided/provided to those who earned it.
THE PURPOSE OF THE HANGOUTS IS NOT ONLY TO ENSURE LEGITIMACY AND KNOWING WHO IS DOING WHAT FOR BOUNTY PURPOSES, IT IS ALSO TO GET US WORKING TOGETHER AND HAVE A MORE 'REAL TIME' MEANS OF COMMUNICATING AND TO HOPEFULLY SPEED UP THE PROCESS.
ROOT FOR THE S8 AND S8+ HAS BEEN ACHIEVED! CHECK OUT THE DEVELOPMENT SECTION FOR EACH DEVICE FOR THE ROOT THREADS! FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO MADE PLEDGES OR DIDN'T MAKE PLEDGES FOR ROOT AND ARE SATISFIED WITH THE ROOT, YOU CAN DONATE TO MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT AND THE BOUNTY WILL BE DISPERSED BETWEEN THE 4 CONTRIBUTORS! MY PAYPAL LINK IS IN MY PROFILE/SIG OR MY PAYPAL EMAIL IS [email protected]
Disclaimer:
Keep in mind that the reasoning behind a bounty thread is not to get paid. It is to encourage devs who might be interested in getting paid for their hard work and/or using the money to donate to a good cause. Most devs I have had the luck to work with are not in it for the money. It is either a hobby of theirs or they simply want to use their device as they wish that unfortunately is limited by Samsung and Carriers by locking down the devices more and more as smartphones evolve.
Hopefully for any reasons this bounty will encourage capable devs to work with and together to achieve what (at this moment in time) seems impossible and provide the small community (us rooters are a small <1% of cell phone users) the ability to use root to fulfill our imaginations from custom ROMS to audio mods to even the simple things like remapping the Bixby button after Samsung comes up with a clever patch to block it.
We are a community, we need to work together to keep this community alive when OEMS and carriers try to shut us down! We are OPEN SOURCE, we OWN our devices and WE ARE XDA!

UPDATES:
- We have managed to flash the Factory Binary Firmware (for S8 and S8+) using Prince Comsey latest ODIN.
- This firmware does in fact bypass frp/Google lock for me anyways. I have also researched similar firmware for s6/s6e ands7 devices and they state you should be able to repair imei, fix DRK, FRP bypass etc. utilizing this firmware.
- We found a way to change debug level on factory firmware.
- We managed to flash permissive kernel from factory binary firmware onto stock AP/Stock firmware so we can now boot stock with permissive.
- We found an interesting mode called Samsung Upload mode which we are doing more research on.
- So far we have not got anywhere outside of whats listed.
- XDA users appear to be searching for ENG firmware and/or actual DEBUG firmware.
- So far the OEM UNLOCK on binary firm does not actually unlock the BL.
- On stock as well as on factory binary firmware the BL/Download mode remaims in "Secure Download" and"Secure Boot" enabled and since BL remains locked, we cannot flash unsigned tars/partitions so TWRP is a no go so far
THERE IS ONLY 2 SAMSUNG OWNERS (ONE S8 AND ONE S8+ USER) IN THE HANGOUTS THREAD. WE ALSO HAVE 2 FELLOW XDA MEMBERS THAT WERE AFFILIATED AND/OR DIRECTLY CREATED DIRTY SANTA ON THE V20 DEVICES FOR IDEAS.
WE NEED MORE DEVS TO JOIN IN! IF YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT SAMSUNG, ANDROID, SELINUX ETC. AND OWN A S8/S8+ OR SIMPLY WANT TO HELP PLEASE SEND ME A PM TO GET AN INVITE TO HANGOUTS!

it is not carrier specific since model numbers are the same for dvery variant but I will put you down for S8,
thanks for getting this started! hopefully we can explode and get root sooner than later!
I'd throw in $20 for the S8.
Again as I said on the S7e forums this should be a bounty to unlock the bootloader not just get root. Otherwise you are just going to get engineering kernel root (which blows) and is basically not usable. Also no custom ROMs without the bootloader unlocked.
Please change the OP to Root+Bootloader unlock so this phone can get properly hacked.

Honestly I just want to be able to skip media tracks with a long-press of the volume buttons while the screen is off. I'd pay $20 just for that lol. From what I've found, there is no perfect, non-root solution. It's a cakewalk with root though. But, I have to imagine development for this device is going to explode before long.

I definitely understand where you are coming from.. an unlocked BL is definitely the ultimate goal but unfortunately its a lot more difficult to achieve than root.. ultimately I would hope the root bounty is achieved by unlocking the BL but that is a long shot unless we somehow come across full debug firmware that is unlocked by default and signed by Samsung (similar to the V20).
We can do a lot with simply full root such as custom stock roms likeHyperdrive, xtrestolite, Clean rom or even my own roms Extreme Syndicate..
We can have mods similar to alliance framework and 3minit, v4a and true debloating etc. by simply having root..
I also feel root is the first step in working towards the ultimate goal in unlocking the BL but we should take one step at a time and potentially get lucky in the process..
I also fear ifI include an unlocked BL as a requirement and someone manages FULL ROOT then ppl will not pay upsince the unlockedbl requirement would not be met.. hopefully you understandandagain, you are not required to make a pledge, i see where youre coming from as i am coming from a vs995 with unlockedBL, twrp and a fully awesome device in its own right and would of course LOVE that on my s8+.. i just want bpunty to be reasonable andfair and achievable

right.. theres so much you can do simply having root.. as i stated previously an unlocked BL would be GREAT! I just feel full root is more achievable at the moment than unlocking the BL thanks to Sammy..
I know if I make an Unlocked BL a requirement it might discourage devs since its a lot more difficult to achieve than root..
I pledge $20 for the S8.

Maybe just specify engineering kernel root does not count. Because otherwise you are going to get worthless root and some who will collect the bounty and kill development.
It is what happened on the S7e they had the engineering kernel all along waited till the bounty go high then released it to gain root and collect the bounty.
"REAL" stable foot was never achieved but it checked all the requirements on your list. It was just a LAGGY MESS that destroyed performance so much almost no one used it.
Trust me you want to make sure that style of root is not acceptable.
If I could put twrp and load AOSP on my s8+ I'll put $20.

Well the bounty is for full permanent root at the moment.. youre the second person to pay bounty for twrp so i think ill make some revisions

ok.. so I will add a bounty option for BL unlock with TWRP so you can pledge for that specifically and not pledge for plain root.. will that satisfy you? and what would be your pledge for that
ill pay 20 for twrp and root lol. anyday, even more if i had to

I'm not trying to be a pain just trying to save you the trouble when someone who is a certified Samsung repair shop tries to claim the bounty by using an engineering kernel to gain root and everyone is pissed because it's broken root. I witnessed it happen on the S7e forums go take a look.
I understand if you just want this to be a root only bounty, but you should specify root achieved by using the engineering kernel does not count. If you don't understand what I am talking about just go look at the S7e threads for Tmobile look for ENGBOOT.
Basically all certified Samsung repair shops are given an engineering kernel, or ENGBOOT, they can flash to a phone using Odin that gives them higher privileges so they can fix corrupted devices or devices that got viruses etc. It's a short jump from that to root, but it is designed to hamper the devices performance to try to prevent people from using it go gain root on a daily driver.
It basically makes the phone SUPER laggy, almost to the point of it being unusable. This is the root you are going to get unless you call out it is not eligible for the bounty. Someone who has the kernel already will just hold it hostage untill enough money is out here then provide proof they can use it to gain root (unusable root do to performance degradation but it passes all of your requirements) and demand payment.

i am tring to edit it in but my phone is giving me issues so there will be 4 options.. full root only on s8 or s8+ or fully working twrp/unlocked BL for s8 or s8+..
but to add to your post, Ive had at least 5 S7 devices that were rooted so I know what you mean.. however, if we had the engboot thatd get our feet wet with root then we could probably find a way to utilize the factory binary BL which seems to be alot more stable than an ENG would be..
again, i understand.. id rather see a not so stable root on an ENG boot than no root at all lol.. being part of various prior devices and involved in the root processes I have to say that unlocking the BL is NOT going to be an easy task if even possible(I hate to say it.) If we had a full debug firm with an unlocked BL by default that would be our best chance butchances are we get that sort of leak/luck is very slim
