I have a D802T G2 variant
I have been using custom rom for a while, but recently I made a big mistake by flashing the wrong kernel version on my device (used D800 instead of D802).
My device was nearly dead so I used LG support tool in download mode to go back to stock (recovery after error option or something like this) . my device booted up normally, so I rooted my device and installed custom recovery using AutoRec and it worked.
My problem is that since then If I flash any kernel, rom or mod I can not boot up my device, it gets stock at LG logo. the only way to bring it back to live is using LG Mobile support tool and going back to stock!!!
I wiped every thing before , flashing? followed every step...but same problem again and again
Please help!

U cannot use autorec on our varient. It will cause that problem every time.

When I install any custom ROM, my phone will boot normally and I will then be able to go through the setup. However, when I shutdown the phone, it will not reboot and I will be stuck on the Samsung logo. Then I have to reinstall the ROM.
Please Help and Thank you.
Did you flash the kernel for your device afterr flashing the rom?

Also, after flashing a custom ROM and getting stuck in the bootlogo, sometimes you need to flash the loki-fix (search for it) to fix this. Then the ROM works.
If ever in an inescapable bootloop and there's no custom recovery, then you'll need to download your stock firmware and stock kernel and use Odin to flash the firmware first (in download mode), then the kernel second (also in download mode, after a reboot), and then once you're up and running you can use Motochopper to root the phone and then another tool to flash recovery (e.g. Canadiani337m_3way_tool).
Happened again

Hey again! After I reflashed the Kernel Fix for my model. It seemed to be good, however it started doing it again! and it happens with every rom. Im sure I have the right kernel fix...
I have a similar issue, with any custom rom I can't load into the phone the first time, set up my phone etc. But if I reboot I'm stuck at the samsung logo. I've tried this most recently with cyangenmod 10.2, ikop, and kangabean and had the same issue. This is my first android phone and my first time trying this so I wasn't sure if I was doing everything correctly. When I followed the instructions for CM, it didn't say that I needed to reflash the kernal. Is there a specific kernal or can I use the stock? Also should I flash the kernal after I've installed rom and gapps?
I suppose if that doesn't work that I'll try the loki-fix.
So i just bought my Lg G2 a few days ago, i instantely rooted it and installed Vanir, things have been great minus a few small bugs...but being i am a crack flasher i tried a few other roms such as Omni, Beanstalk and more but when i try these other roms i have no issues except that they always boot themselves on when you charge them..you can turn the rom off, plug it in and surely enough it automatically boots itself up, i've tried plugging it in then turning it off and the results are the same. the only rom that will charge while off and remain off is Vanir but i have experienced a few small bugs on then
ANYWAY the main resaon I started this thread is because every and any kernel i try to flash doesnt flash, they all fail...can anyone shed some light as to why all the kenels are failing on me?
Which kernels are you flashing? Which variant are they for? Erich variant do you have?

If you are using TWRP, flash Philz touch recovery (see android original development). It may be a recovery issue.

The Kernels in the Lg G2 Verizon section and a couple other, the names escape me at the moment but they are for the vzw G2 which is what I have/

Bump
Does anyone have any idea why I can flash majority of the roms available but I cannot flash one single custom kernel?
I've tried the latest TWRP. an earlier version and i've tried Philz touch...none of which will allow me to flash any of these custom kernels available for my VS980....and yes the kernels are meant for said device. There is also maybe one or two roms that won't flash either
sorry to bump this again but i still cannot get any kernels to flash
I am certainly rooted as i have flashed multiple roms but are there any other steps or processes i need to do in order to flash a kernel on this phone? i've owned about 9 android phones and every time i've rooted and unlocked the bootloader, installed a custom recovery i was able to flash roms and kernels with ease...as i've mentioned i've tried different versions of recoveries and everythng and no mattter what every kernel i try to flash fails...its not the end of the world but i would really like to try some of these custom kernels out and dunno how to do it...
am i missing something?
Hi
I have this screen on a LG Optimus L3 (E405), after the LG logo.
I try to flash it, th phone go on android the first time and work correctly
but if i reboot it return on this screen
please what is this? and how can i fix it?
Try to install clockworkmod recovery before flashing a Custom ROM. I suggest you to do a backup of your stock recovery before installing a new one. You may want everything to be stock. I forgot to do this. So I hope you won't make this mistake

first you need a custom recovery and you need supersu or superuser so that apps can granted root access so every rom either comes with ir preinstalled or makes a note saying you need to flash/install once you flash the rom

Recovery is all set, Thanks to you, Second im downloading a rom at my phone right now.. My question basicly is, Does it matter wich one supersu / superuser i have installed on phone at the moment right now when im going to flash a new rom ?
No it does not matter sometimes the rom has one already and changes the one you had previously it's not an issue just a matter of preference like the recoveries cwn and twrp are both great but you stick to the one you like most

Thanks The answer i wanted.. Hopefully my first flash goes well as im a little scared to brick my phone , Another question.... I was in this forum on my phone ,, And downloaded it direcly instead on the pc , You think that makes a diffrence for the install ?
Won't make any difference when you install also since you are now rooted and have custom recovery I recommend doing a nandroid back up in twrp/cwm so that if something does go wrong this is one of the different ways to recover to a state before a flash

you are welcome and always here to help when I can
Is there a flashable back to stock zip for this device ? It's stuck in bootloop and all i have is TWRP 2.8.5.0 . I can't go into download mode ?
I see you posted this yesterday. But since you're not with sprint you can flash cloudystock, flex, or G2. They are all stable and unlocked out of the box. I always keep a copy of cloudyg2 on my phone in case something happens. Use cloudyflex if you prefer a black theme. These are possibly the most stable and efficient unlocked roms for the ls980.
