[Q] Yet another bricked S4? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hello All. I have an AT&T SGH-I337 that was running 4.2 and was rooted. I do not know what I did to this poor thing to make it like this but now when I turn it on, it just says "Samsung" and "unlocked." That is it. Any combination of hard keys results in the same thing:
Volume up and power = "Samsung" and "unlocked."
Volume down and power = "Samsung" and "unlocked."
Volume up, home, and power = "Samsung" and "unlocked."
Volume down, home, and power = "Samsung" and "unlocked."
Volume up, volume down, screaming and shouting, power = "Samsung" and "unlocked."
When I plug it into my computer it does not even recognize I have plugged anything in. Tried running Kies and got the same thing: "plug in device" even though it is plugged in and says "Samsung" and "unlocked."
Can anyone help me get this going again or do I have a really fancy paper weight? Thanks for all your help in advance.

Just keep holding power and volume down even after it vibrates. If it can do enough to load the splash it should still give download mode. In that case you can reflash whatever firmware you had through ODIN.

Vibrant Help Possibly Bricked

Tried Flashing the stock 2.1 firmware from samsung-firmwares.com and windows crashed. now if i hold the volume up and power button all i get is a :
RST_STAT = 0x1
PWIC_IRQ1 = 0x3c
PWIC_IRQ2 = 0x0
PWIC_IRQ3 = 0x0
PWIC_IRQ4 = 0x0
PWIC_STATUS1 = 0xc0
PWIC_STATUS2 = 0x2c
All Text in ORANGE.
i have tried many different button configurations and that is the only screen that i can get too.
ANy Help Would be greatly appreciated.
Try this.
1. Take out battery, put it back in. (to turn the phone fully off)
2. Don't turn it the phone on!
3. Plug the phone into your PC, do not hit the power button!
4. See if the phone shows anything on the screen (powers on its own when plugged in)
IF the phone screen does 'turn on' after being plugged in without you hitting the power button, so far so good.
5. Now while it's on like this, hold the volume up and volume down buttons.
6. Hold the power button as well as the volume buttons until the screen goes black.
7. As soon as the screen goes black, let go of the power button! But DON'T let go of the volume buttons!
This *should* get you into Download mode. After that you should be able to use Odin to revert to stock, tar and instructions here:

This fixed my 'odd' brick.
OMG THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!!!
It worked my case was a little different. it wouldnt show anything up on the screen but i tried it anyway and after about 5 seconds of holding vol + and Vol - and power i released the power button and low and behold the downloading menu came up.
Thanks again.
Glad I could help! I know the terror of thinking your 500$ is now possibly a brick.

turn your phone completely off: unplug it from the usb and hold down the power button for like 20sec. the phone should not be turning on or doing anything. then press and hold the power plus volume down. as soon as the lg logo pops up, let go of those 2 buttons and immediately press and hold power + volume down again. this should bring up an all white screen with black letters. now press the power button 3 times til you get to "factory resetting".

[How-to] Soft Boot/Reset the Galaxy S5

Long press power button no longer works for us on the S5 to shutdown or reset the phone.
What to do if you're stuck in a bootloop and need to soft reset so you can get into recovery:
To get into recovery:
Long press power + volume down reboots the phone.
Wait for it to vibrate and immediately switch to volume up + keep holding power + home key.
Once you see 'Recovery Booting' (in dark blue, top left) release the keys.
To get into download mode:
Wait for it to vibrate and immediately press the home key + keep holding power + keep holding volume down.
Timing is a little critical but at least I don't have to pull the battery every time I get stuck testing something and want to get into recovery to fix it.
Ty sir, good to no.

Why is Sammy making it so hard for us to enjoy our phone?
Thank you for the 411 [emoji3]. I was wondering what was going on.

Thanks for this!
I actually just had this problem and had to phone a friend (switched to the S5 this weekend and ran into a boot loop problem while doing some of my final restorations... it's the reason they're last!).
Didn't do this exact thing as I had ended up pulling the battery out when the Power - Volume Up - Home combo hadn't been working for me. If it happens again, I know this is here!

my nexus 4 is breaked, help me

Good morning
Now everytime the phone boots I see a "Google" Logo, and then of the 4-color ball, then a never-ending!!!

For fastboot, power off the phone and hold volume up, volume down, and power.

I tried all combinations possible, without result
always google logo and the 4 balls in color, and if I still press both button the phone restarts.
Unless you can get into fast boot or recovery, there isn't much you can do because you probably need to either perform a factory reset or refresh a stock ROM.

I was having that problem too and remedied it by just pressing and holding random buttons down for random periods of time lol. Sorry it's not more precise. Eventually I had the power button held down with the volume up and it ended up turning on. Was down for a good like 2-5 min though with absolutely no signs of turning on.
Was only getting that problem after I selected oem unlock from dev options menu.
When it did turn back on, I powered down completely and held vol down with power to go into recovery and selected fastboot from that menu.

Yeah, thats what happened to me as well holding both Vol up and down with power. Now I either do vol up with power or vol down with power... never both haha. But I don't think vol up with power does anything.

for whoever has this issue and needs to see this, my steps to cut it back on (finally):
1. let it sit on the charger for like 5-10 minutes
2. unplug let sit again for a few minutes
3. pressed power and both volume buttons till i felt a buzz and it cut right on.
