the only way to go back to stock recovery is to go back to stock but you can also follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2673736 which will allow you to have root and custom recovery

Hi Guys, I have read some topics about downgrading, but im not fully understanding if this is only for people who is already rooted or if this will work for a non rooted device. In my case i have an At&t Lg G2 not rooted with 4.4.2 kitkat and wanted to revert to 4.2 so i can root and then flash a rooted stock 4.4.2 kitkat. Is it possible to do that, even if i was never rooted? I do understand there's no root for kitkat as of now.
Thanks guys.

Thanks a lot bro.
Hello everybody, i made some search on the forum but i didn't find the answer to my question, so i ask it here.
I'm actually on 4.4.2 stock rom, i'm rooted (it's not a pre-rooted 4.4.2 but i rooted it after with some weirds methods) anyway, i don't have recovery and when i try to access it i get a secure boot error, it's ok because i can boot on the desktop..
I want to know how can i get a 4.4.2 version rooted & with a recovery mode like twrp. Does i need to install a 4.4.2 stock pre-rooted with the recovery mode pre-installed ? If yes, how can i do this ?
I also received an lg update on my phone and at the send of the installations i got this message "Your device seems to be rooted, you can't update it".
Thank your for the help

Once you get the rooted flag while trying a software update the only way to get rid of it is by goofing back yo stock, also now that you have custom recovery if you try to it you will bootloop/soft brick
Sent from LG-G2 D800 on AEONFLEX 4.4.2

Please help! I've went through every single page on the rom thread with no answer. No one responds to my posts either.
I'm running this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/rom-custom-stock-lp-g2-d800-d801-d803-t3025479/page42
I tried to restore my cloudy g2 backup but just get stuck on the LG logo. I've also tried the TOT thing to go back to stock, but it just stays on 0% in download mode when I go to flash it. I don't know what to do.
You flashed the KK bootloader right? Then you must return to JB bootloader to can boot on CloudyG2 or other ROMs.

I didn't flash any bootloader. When I bought the phone it was already on kit kat so I don't know if that makes a difference?

When you rooted your phone and installed TWRP you didn't used Autorec?
What steps you followed to install that ROM?

We think you have to change to JB bootloader in order to make other ROMs to work, like CloudyG2.
But you need to flash the bootloader for your G2 variant, @AbdulrahmanAmir gave you a link for D802 bootloader but if you don't own a D802 then don't use that bootloader, you need one for your g2 variant.
EDIT: I see you have D800, here you can download the JB bootloader for D800 http://blastagator.ddns.net/bootloader.php
