I have a Xoom and have been using it since it came out. Got my wife the Galaxy 10.1 and there are several keyboard issues.
1. we switch to the Android keyboard as the spell/suggestion actually works. The Samsung text correction never activates for some reason.
2. when docking to the samsung keyboard dock (which is slick, we wanted it vs. a flimsy triangle tent on your lap and bluetooth keyboard) but it does not "take over" as the default keyboard, like my Xoom does. The virtual keyboard still pops up everytime you enter a text field.
Q1: Is there any way to remove the Samsung keypad?
Q2: How can you (if at all) allow the keyboard dock to take over as the default keyboard when docked?
Any of these issues with anyone else. Thanks.
My wife just got the tab last week with the keyboard dock. When you try to type anything in the email app it crashes. I believe this began after the touchwiz update. Does anyone have any suggestions to fix this problem, or is there a way to get the non touchwiz email app back on the tab?
Thanks.
Okay, I have narrowed it down. It only crashes when using the shift key or caps lock key in addition to having the samsung on screen keyboard selected. If i change the on screen keyboard to the stock android one it will not crash. This would be fine except every time the tab is plugged into the keyboard it changes the on screen keyboard back to the samsung one.
I don't really want to do a hard reset but I will if anyone knows that it will fix this problem.
Thanks.
I just did several hard resets and the problem persists. I guess we will have to exchange the tab. Too bad.
Okay, we are on tab number two and keyboard number two. The touchwiz update showed up again today so I updated and guess what? The email app crashes when using the samsung keyboard dock. How is this not a known issue. Samsung didn't try using their own keyboard on their own tab with their own software? I'll try calling samsung next.

Yes I m having the same issue here.
Happy though that you identified that the setting the standard keyboard made it disappear...
thanks.
I have both the Samsung and Google keyboards installed but am missing the voice to text microphone in both of them. Where do I find it since I used to use it alot!
Thanks,

Hold the button to the left of the space bar on the keyboard and choose the microphone from the pop up menu. Once you have chosen it, it will stay showing
It's not there! That's the problem

Use a different keyboard or go through the settings for the keyboard you are using.
