IS it The kernel And/OR System Files that control the E,3g,H - data?

Driving me crazy ..
In my house I get 2 bars On Edge
But the weird thing is ..
I can get 5 bars On edge .. if the phone switches cell towers!
( I have two by my house )
But it never STAYS on the 5 bar one !!!!
Why the heck it picks the 2 bar one! Over the 5 bar Tower! I Just Don't know!
Also on the 2 bar E - Sometimes it gets "stuck" White arrow Solid .. and I have to do a reset to get it back ..
So I wana try and figure out what files control data in android ..
And try some different combination's .. and see if i can figure it out ..
If Anyone Knows Please Let me know I would Really Appreciate it!

my defy sometimes lost the signal and GPRS,
especially after gamming :S
and every time while signal is gone,
the signal icon shown on status bar is freezed:S
i mean.. it shows full signal but no signal in fact
its so annoying that it make me miss many calls.....
i rely need somebody's help orz
what should i do?
im using cm7 by quarx and i tried to reflash cm7 before, but not works :S

I have experienced the problem when I first flashed CM7. After lot of frustration, I found that the sim card dose not fit snugly in the sim card slot. And after a drop, the sim card had moved from the contact. Removing the battery and setting the sim card properly solved the problem for me. Hope this helps. Another thing you might look at is the setting the right base band. And also select the proper network type in the test menu [dial *#*#4636#*#* and go into phone information and scroll down.] Sometimes this gets reset to WCDMA

1. CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET RID OF THE ANNOYING SIM 1 & SIM 2 BUTTONS /LOGOS IN NOTIFICATION PULL DOWN MENU i. e BELOW THE BRIGHTNESS CONTROL.... WANAM XPOSED N EVERYTHING ELSE CAN DO IT ALL BUT THIS!! IM SHOCKED NO1 HAS DONE IT YET. OR MAYBE I DUNNO HOW TO. PLZ HELP
2. HOW CAN I REMOVE THAT SILLY GREY BACKGROUND BEHIND THE CURRENT SIM BEING USED NETWORK SIGNAL BARS??? AND HOW CAN I CHANGE COLOR OF SIGNAL BARS. EVERYTHING IS CHANGEABLE BUT BLOODY SIGNAL BARS.

Notification Icon ?

Could anyone tell me what this icon is , the 2 arrows
I had it turn up about a week ago , after a reboot it went away then today my network switched 4G on and the arrows have shown up again .
I'm on the 3 UK network , I know they switched on voLTE for the S5 a few weeks ago.

OK after doing more Googling it appears to be the icon for VoLTE { Voice Over LTE } normally the icon arrows are coloured Red and Green but Samsung decided just to go for the Gray colour.
If the Mods want to delete this thread , then go ahead

Double signal bar problem

The status bar is showing 2 signal bars with LTE icons on my phone. I only have one Verizon sim card inserted. See top right on the screenshot.
Is there any way to disable the 2nd signal bar?

Did you use the dialer code and put your phone into LTE only mode? That caused the double signal bars for me to. Putting it back to TD-SCDMA/CDMA/UTMS fixed it.
