Hi all,
Let me try to walk you through everything that I've done to try and get some help here.
I have an lg g2 sprint (lg-ls980)
1. When I got it I first upgraded to android 4.4.2
2. Then I rooted using stump root
3. I installed xposed and a few xposed modules....I then decided Id rather have a different rom, so
4. I used autorec (which to my understanding changed my kernel in order to workaround boot loader and install twrp? is that accurate?)
5. Booted to twrp, wiped data and installed cyanogenmod and gapps
After this I get stuck and can't boot past the lg logo, so I booted back to recovery and restored my backup. So I did the same and tried pacrom this time with the same results.
I then decided that if I'm going to be stuck with stock rom I at least want my knock on back, so I flashed the patched kernel and same thing- stuck at lg logo....
I know I downloaded the correct zip files and placed them on the root, and always wiped before flashing.
Then I went into download mode on the lg support tool to try to get back to factory, but it says my firmware and recovery is up to date. The odd thing is that the lg support tool shows my phone as ls740 rather than ls980... is this because of something that autorec changed? Do I need to download zip files for ls740 instead? So confused..
About phone in my g2s settings shows android version 4.4.2 and kernel version 3.4.0
Anyways, if anyone could help me to successfully get one of these roms to flash and get back to the kernel that supports the knock code I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!
hi,
a few weeks ago i installed a stock d802 5.0.2 lollipop rom from a site called htcmania (because i am new i cant paste the thread link here)
now when i try to install other aosp roms such as blisspop or vanir the installation shows no error but when i reboot my lg logo fades away and i have this weird lines on my screen like its broken and the phone shuts down.
i managed to enter recovery (twrp 2.8.5.0) manually but i dont know what to do now.
please help me!!
This is a copy+paste from a reply I wrote in the Q&A section of the CloudyG2 3.1 rom.
"Alright, so since yesterday, I have been trying to find out how to install this rom in the correct way. I asked in the original thread of the rom (before I knew there was a Q&A). I was on CloudyG2 2.2. I am using LS980 Spring Variant. My question was, do I need to TOT back to ZVE and update to ZVG and root and install CloudyG2 3.1 that way, or could I just stay on 2.2 and go into recovery, wipe data and everything, then flash the LP bootstack and install the rom and hotfix. One person replied, "Yes". I asked to what was he referring, tot or just wipe everything from 2.2 and flash it. Then somebody else said to tot. So today when I got home, I decided to tot to zve.
After I got to ZVE, I updated to ZVG, successfully. I rooted, AutoRec. All was well. Then I went into recovery, wiped data, system, cache, dalvik. Then I flashed CloudyG2 3.1, flashed dorimanx 2.9, then flashed the LS980 hotfix. I rebooted my phone and it stayed on the LG Logo for about 5 minutes without anything happening, no boot animation, so I assumed something went wrong. I reboot into recovery and wiped everything again and flashed the LP bootstack (I read somewhere in the oringal post that people were saying to do this.) after that, I flashed the 3.1 rom, then flashed dorimanx, then flashed the hotfix, then rebooted. Immediately after I rebooted, it flashed the LG logo then went straight to a black screen, like many others are getting. So I assumed it had to do with having the LP bootstack. I also read that needed to be on Kitkat modem. So the change I made this time was I rebooted into recovery, wiped all, then flashed the kitkat modem this time and not the bootstack, then flashed the 3.1, hotfix and rebooted. Same thign happened again, showed the LG logo for a second, then went to a black screen.
At this point, I am not sure what is going on. So I decided to try to tot to zve again. Only, when I go into download mode, I get security error. I am still able to go into recovery, however, that is all I can do. I know people keep saying read the OP, and I, like many others have read the OP and perhaps do not clearly understand it. And I have tried to ask around, but it seems people are getting bashed for not understanding the OP or how exactly to flash this rom.
Could one of you kind people please give detailed instructions on how to go about getting this rom to boot on the LS980 variant?
And could somebody help me with my specific issue, not being able to get into download mode now and not being able to boot up a rom. Like I said, I can still get into recovery and flash things. But all I have tried, I mentioned earlier in this post, none of it works, any suggestions?
So, I came across this thread, which seems to be a fix for my phone. (Unless someone here knows an easier way?) http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2582142
"You must use the img files that correspond to the ROM you have installed before getting the problem to avoid breaking your phone. The link above is for 10b_EUR_16G firmware version. So don't use those files if your firmware version was not that one. Instead you should look for img files corresponding to the current version installed in your phone. If you don't know what version you've installed then don't use this method because you will break your phone. "
It says I must use the img files for the rom I have installed before getting the problem. Could somebody elaborate please? I had stock ZVG, then flashed cloudyg2 3.1, that is when my phone messed up. Then I tried ultrapop (stock ls980 LP rom)."
Hi guys,
Im trying for week to install Cloudy G2 3.3 on my korean F320L model.
I was trying almost everything and all i do was to brick my phone dozen times.
So now i want someone to help me a bit.
What i tried?
1. Lollipop. I updated my stock JB room to Lollipop and then wanted to install This TWRP (f320l_lollipop.apk) but it was not working.
Everytime i was able to see an Android with open stomach and red triangle instead of TWRP. But if i install any other version of TWRP like for f320k or sth i wasnt able to install anything on it, cause my phone was crashing over and over. So i started for looking some other ways to install Cloudy G2.
2. KitKat. I updated stock JB android to KK 4.4. Then after Rooting phone i was able to install this TWRP (f320l_AutoRec.apk ) and go to recovery mode.
But the next step in All guides was to install blastgator from dorimanx and i choosed f320 version and install it. But after reebot to recovery nothing happens just black screen.
So i tried other version but everytime i failed.
Now im totally lost.
Can someone who runs Cloudy G2 3.3 on his korean LG G2 F320l how to do it?
What system i need. Witch TWRP install, Witch blastgator and what next.
Thanks in ADVANCE!
Hi All,
I've been trying to install Cloudy G2 3.3 into my LS980 for the last probably 15 hours with no success. Each time Cloudy finish installation through TWRP and reboot, it goes into LG logo for a second and goes black screen. Can't get back into TWRP after. I can only go back into download screen. I know how to tot it back to stock but not sure what the approach is to get Cloudy 3.3 installed.
Below are the instructions I followed:
- Start with Stock rom (I've tried, 4.4.2 ZVC and 5.02 ZVH)
- Rooted with ioroot
- installed TWRP 2.7.0.0
- Installed Quickboot app
- Downloaded these in the sdcard: Cloudy 3.3, TWRP 2.8.6.0 , KK bootloader ( simpleBootstacks-ls980-nevax-KK--signed.zip )
- Reboot into recovery using Quickboot app
- Wipe davick, cache, data, system
- Update TWRP to 2.8.6.0 (also tried 3.1.1.0)
- Flashed KK bootloader simpleBootstacks-ls980-nevax-KK--signed.zip
- Press reboot into recovery
- Most of the time I will get the 1 second LG logo and goes black screen here.
- 1 time i was able to get pass that part and Flashed Cloudy 3.3 in recovery. But afterwards same thing, 1 second LG logo and goes black screen.
I can still tot it back stock but not sure what the approach is to get Cloudy 3.3 installed. (I've also tried CM13 with same results) I've looked into this quite a bit and couldn't find a solution. I read heavy emphasis on using KK boatloader and I feel like that's where my problem is but not sure what it is. It seems like the LS980 KK Bootloader is much more harder to find than the other variants. The one I found I don't know if it is correct since I haven't read many feedback on that piece.
I've also tried flashing the Boot Changer and ran into the same issue.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Really wanted to get this ROM or any battery efficient rom in my G2 since this phone dies on me very quickly being that it was bought used.
