Sprint always wants to do things different than anyone else. thats one thing i hate about them. they have a different selection of hidden menu where i cannot update my touch software and not this. they make us wait for their updates to be pushed OTA. why cant i decide if i want to push an update myself.!

Do we have any CDMA techs with us? Do you know any repair techs?
The LG G2 community needs a way to use LGNPST to flash custom/stock tot files. Currently we are using FlashTool for .kdz files and LG Flash for .tot files. LG Flash runs a crc check on the tot file and also checks for a matching device. The issue here is that if you change the build.prop to a different device name and have trouble booting... LG Flash will NOT work.. claiming "mismatched device" and leaving you in an unbootable state.
LGNPST does not run the same crc checks on the .tot file.. and is assumed to work like it did on the LG Optimus G... one LGNPST .dll works for ALL G2 devices. In the case of LG Optimus G.. we used the Sprint LS970 lgnpst dll for all models. The reason I ask for a CDMA repair tech.. LGNPST seems to be designed for CDMA devices(but works for GSM too..).
Techs.. is LGNPST still used with the G2? Or are you all using LG Flash at this point? If neither... which repair tool is used for G2? LGUP?

Sprint has no documentation or software downloads for the G2 yet. I'm not yet able to receive LTE on mine. I'm assuming the only way to answer your question for the Sprint variant is to contact an LG tech.
Yo Autoprime. Im guessing your not asking for in store techs cause we dont use any of that in store. And also I activated my G2 a week ago and LTE almost everywhere.

Hey.. sup man? That's what I'm finding out. I guess things have changed over the years. Used to be the techs had access to all of the PST apps for each company.. SamsungPST, LGNPST etc etc. Now it seems everything is outsourced.
The search continues...

I might be able to get it. I'm not a tech, but I'll see what I can do today.

this version of lgnpst should work.... the problem is we need an lgnpst dll file for LS980.
to flash the tot file in lgnpst... you need to rename .tot to .bin.

2.3 it's floating around here somewhere from a year ago. Pretty sure I still have it on cloud somewhere. Still need .dll.
Anyone come across LS980.dll? I have one but it wont register with reggie or traditional methods... But this method does work.
this would be great to have.
I need some guidance regarding Korean and International version. I hate stock roms so the first thing I have to do is to flash custom rom after buying the phone. I'm getting F320 at very good price but unable to find any roms for F320. Can I flash D802 Roms on F320. If not, is there any way such that I could convert F320 to D802 as hardware is same. Thanks.
The 320s are easy to soft brrick and there are far less custom roms for them. If you need custom capabilities I recommed avoiding the Korean versions for the timr being.

If you would like external SD and removable battery then the F320 is the way to go.
Soft bricks are exactly that...... easy to fix....
I am currently assisting in development for AOSP Roms inc Carbon so development is on the way...
Patience is a virtue..
I usually don't like to ask or would never ask of this.
I'm looking for a korean g2. I want to do dev work.. my friend wants to get a G2 but he wants external SD .. I really don't need or care for it but i wanna work on it since he wants that model..
if someone can get me a loaner just for testing purposes.. I don't need it for long. just to get everything working properly and rolling..
I've already brought the aosp for korean models but not everything works..
If you don't trust me , i'll be willing to send my canadian G2 in exchange and hold till i'm done with the korean variant. I'm not asking for someone to give me a phone nor would i take one. i don't work that way. I just need it so that the testing would be easier for me since my time schedule is busy and the time difference ..
i wouldn't need it for long.. since i can't afford to buy an extra g2... if someone can even sell me one and i can pay back but little by little i'm willing to do that.. it has to be GSM with exteranl sd. like i said i can't afford to pay for it now . but i will pay for it if someone can find me one for a good price..
I've been busy but will have alittle extra time.. I just released Kitkat 4.4 for my other device the LG Optimus G on the day sources released and now with version 3 i fixed up all the issues and now external SD works for the LGOG kitkat 4.4 ..

I am eager enough for a proper AOSP ROM to look into this
So what would be required is that I ship my LG F320L to yourself, you do the required and send it back.
Challange 1) I live in the Netherlands, so shipping slow will be time consuming and shipping fast will be money consuming
Challange 2) in between I will need to run on another phone, not impossible, let me have a look at the options :cyclops:
Just checked and Fedex is telling me it's about $100 each way, but would be within 24 hour, which means I will be investing $200 into the community.
I love all these applicable smilies
a friend of mine flashed d802 stock rom using the flashtool on f320,
now the phone boots but the touch is impossible to use,
tried to flash ot back, but i got the croosdl from d802 to f320 problem,
since i don't have custom recovery or root. i can't change the build.prop.
any idea how to bypass this check? and flash it back to f320?

Flash back to stock with .tot method and edit the dll or .tot with hex editor and change f320 to d802.
I am not sure or it was the .tot file or the .dll file you need to edit with hex. But if you edit it from f320 to d802 then it will say that its good and it will flash stock.
Will try it. My logic tells me that it will be easier to edit the dll, than the 2gb tot file. Hope it will fix it.

Im about to do the same thing, ill let you know how it goes..
MetroPCS is under T-Mobile's network so it should work. I'm using a verizon Lg G2 on T-Mobile and it works fine. You just have to root it and load a custom rom like CM or anything like it. The stock rom of the verizon G2 won't recognize a T-Mobile sim card so that's why you have to load a custom rom.
Just wondering if you were able to make it work? because I got a Verizon G2 with Cloudy G3 ROM and it wont work on Metro.
Try choosing the T-Mobile variant. That's what I did to get simple mobile Sim card to work, but do not do it if your scared it's going brick your phone. I don't have the vs980 I have the ls980 and it worked.

I'll be quick so no ones time is wasted and a viable solution can be found fast.
I bought a D802 from a third-party, with:
- 32GB ROM
- 4.4.2 D80220b firmware
- 2G, 3G, 4G working
- The csmg.lgmobile.com website said that according to my IMEI, my model is the UAE 32GB D802 and gave me the D80230a firmware for manual flash via LG Flash tool. (screenshot below)
I used the phone for a while, rooted it and used Xposed. Never got recovery so no backup(wish I'd seen the SRK tool before). Then I downloaded the firmware from the csmg.lgmobile.com website. I flashed it via the Flash tool and everything seemed fine. Then it booted:
- Touchscreen was erratic. Ghost touches, dead spots, phantom touches, whatever.
- The Baseband Version and IMEI in About Phone both say Unknown
- ROM has converted to a 16GB version
- Download mode is fine along with every other feature of the phone
After that I looked around and found a UAE D80220c firmware and flashed that. It flashed fine but all the above issues remained the same.
I browsed around extensively here and found out:
- Refurbished phones have their back cover and firmware changed to imitate D802's.
- My phone is probably some other G2 model with D802 firmware and an altered IMEI
- The actual model of my device is UNDER the motherboard. Which, apparently, I must get hold of so I can flash the appropriate stock kdz. This gets a bit too hardware-y for me.
So, basically, my phone is no more useful than a brick at the moment. Any expert help would be appreciated but here are the main questions that I'd really like answered:
A. Should I try various flashing the kdz files from different models mentioned in the link I gave up ^there until one clicks and then try to do something about the IMEI?
B. Is there any chance that my phone is beyond repair forever?
C. Should I stop messing around with my mediocre knowledge and take it to a repair shop?
I really can't afford to lose this phone so please, if you've stumbled upon this, try to help or forward it to someone who CAN help. I will be very thankful.
Cannot really help you. But look for Frankenphone. There's a thread here.
I would return the phone. That's fraud.
Go by this method.

B. I doubt it's beyond repair, it will just take you time and work to figure out what is what and how to get it back to working state. I think everything you need can be found already here, I saw a lot of posts with the similar problems and really hard bricks being solved. Just be patient and good luck.

Possible refurbished G2 D802
Guys i bought an LG G2 D802 from a third party. i tried to install TWRP using AUTOREC for D802. My phone went into a bootloop. Luckily i had made a backup with SRK tool, so my G2 is up and running. I think my phone is refurbished because i have seen other G2's with D802 backcovers in that market but their IMEI no. was D800. My IMEI no. , backcover and software all say D802. I Dont want to open up my phone because it is confusing for me because i know there will be 2 to 3 model no.s written inside it. My question is can i find out my model no. by installing all autorec recoveries for g2 on my phone after making backup on SRK Tool. When i get the TWRP recovery on my phone i will know which model my phone is. Plz people who are expert of SRK tool help me...
Also will my Imei no. stay safe if i backup from srk tool.
