[Q] Is my HD2 faulty?

hi
As soon as i make a phone call my screen goes off, now on my iphone it used to do this only when the light sensor was covered. to bringthe screen back on I have to press one of the black buttons in the bottom of the phone, is this a fault?
I had this problem after fitting a screen protector. removing it solved the issue for me.
The genuine HTC Screen protectors have 2 holes in for the sensors. I can confirm this does not affect the screen when making a call.
Are you using a screen protector which doesn't have a hole for the proximity sensor etc?
It may be it can't function right as it maybe seeing the protector as something close to the sensor, hence why the screen goes off.
I have a Vidocq screen protection and the phone wake up again when I finish the call...

Screen stays black while in call

im running full stock everything for starters.
When i am in a call sometimes up to my ear or speakerphone the screen will go black and i wave my hand in front of the light sensor and nothing works. The screen stays black. I like having the lock button hang the phone up so i want to keep that option on...
Just wondering why it is doing this, thx.
Its a thing to save battery usage,
do you have a case on it?
from my experimentation, the sensor is somewhere at the top, left of the power button when the phone is facing you.
prehaps your hand, hair, or case is covering it causing it to turn off - as it should
it thinks your in a call and you dont need to look at the screen.

proximity sernsor: is it working?

Hello, I'd like to ask you if the proximity sensor works during a call.
It happens that when I put the phone next to my ear, sometimes the call ends because I touch the end call area with my face.
Is there a way to see if the proximity sensor is disabled?
I'm not sure but mine works perfectly so far..
Yea, the problem was that I used the viva-voice (I don't know the english translation).
maybe you touch the screen and end call? when you close far phone to the head wait one second and then backlight is off... but dont touch the screen yuor ear or cheek before the scren isn't off.

Screen remains of during phone call

Anyone else having an issue with the screen remaining off during a phone call? Screen won't come on during the call, won't even come on from the power button being pressed... So I basically can't even hang up a call on my end without rebooting...
Let me guess: you have a screen protector on the phone that doesn't have the proximity sensor cutout (below the right side of the top speaker)

I'm also having the same problem. Yes I've applied screen guard. But it has nothing above the display. Proximity is very far from the screen guard layer.

I'm having the same problem. Mine did have a cut out but its in the wrong place. If you put a light onbylur screen when it's off you can see where you sensors are. For now I use power button ends call until my new screen protector comes with the right cut out! You do can turn that on it accessibly

Proximity sensor issue when in call

I have problem with my s10+ exynos.
When calling and the phone is on my ear, the screen turns off.
However when moving my phone away from my ear the screen stays off during the call.
I have to push the power button to wake the screen up.
With my s7 edge the screen used to turn on when I moved my phone away from my ear when in a call.
When dialing *#0*# for the test menu's, clicking the sensors button doesn't show any proximity sensor at all?
I removed the screenprotector and the issue happends with both case on and off.
When recording sensor activity with the app Androsensor, the generated csv clearly shows that the proximity sensor goed from 2 to 0 and back to 2, so I don't think it's a hardware issue.
Also booting in safe mode and factory reset doesn't resolve the issue.
Am I missing somthing in the settings?
Is anyone else running into this issue?
I contacted the shop where I bought the phone and they told me that it's very likely to be a defective phone.
So I will send the phone back and once they have confirmed the issue, they will send a new device.
same thing happens to me
Update - it stopped happening on my phone all of the sudden. Now it is working fine.
