[Q] Broken Digitalizer, Need to reset Rom Flashes - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Woke up this morning and my phone wasn't responding to my touches and half the screen was completely stuffed. As I continued to restart and fix it now it just flashes white and black. Of course I would claim this under warranty but I have Cyanogen Mod on there so I need to go back to stop rom and need to reset my flash counter? Is there any way I can do that without actually going on the phone? Thanks

[Q] Last Row Touchscreen Not Working

Hello everyone..
I got just get prob on my fone.My last row of touch screen (home/menu/back/search) is not working.
I hadn't dropped the phone or gotten it a wet or anything, they just stopped. Nver rooted my fone also.
Anyone know how to fix it?
i really didn't think of any other solution, but here it is:
becasue you are not rooted, you can only wipe all the phone's data, and restore it to factory settings... that means all apps, contacts, messages, everything will be gone and restored back to the "out-of-the-box" shape..... good luck

i meant factory reset yes...
rooting the phone will have you better control over it.... so you could flash another kernel and it may work... however, you could try factory reset, because rooting it will result in the same thing...

the prob is,i still have to use back button when want to rooting.
So,i cant continue the step to rooting
I'd not take the chances of rooting if you are not sure it will fix it.
Do you still have warranty? I'd just take it back...
Have you tried simply turning your phone off, and then back on?

Seriously, that has fixed a ton of my phone's hiccups. Don't underestimate the usefulness of a power cycle

i think the best way is change the touch pad with new one

1. Do a data factory reset
2. Reflash the stock rom with Odin 3.04 followed by a data factory reset
3. If any of the above don`t work take it to the shop for repair or exchange.

odin the installation fails ... I'm a bit desperate to point .. I'm trying to re-download the fw, but I do not think that's the problem because it seems that odin face the md5 of the file and it is ok . ((((

Note 3 crashes

My 5 month old un-rooted Note 3 (SM-N9005) which i bought in Norway just out of nowhere re started and now just almost every app or processes stops and eventually it crashes and restarts.
Any ideas what's happening? I'm not in the country atm so am really hoping to fix it as i really need it.
It doesn't seem to have mobile network either, not that it stays on long enough to use it.

Easiest way is to boot into recovery (Hold Volume Up, Home, Power before you see SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE SM-N9005) and wipe cache. If that doesn't work, go back into recovery and perform a Factory Reset.

Do you have access to a computer? If you do, you can try flashing stock using Odin in Download mode.
Download the Odin file here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/
Flash it under AP.
I can try that. Will it void my warranty? Also how and where do i get the stock firmware from and which do i need? My ap is: N9005XXUEND5

The Sammobile link, type in your firmware N9005XXUEND5 into the Firmware box, then it will search it for you. You also could just type N9005 and choose the latest based on your region.
No it will not void your warranty.

That's very weird.
Flashing stock should essentially fix the system files that are broken.
You could try root it, wiping all partitions, then reinstalling a ROM.

Shuts off randomly after multiple ROM Flashes

So i tried my best to install cyanogen mod 12 and it eventually worked but it was so buggy, i flashed my original ROM using ODIN and now the phone just shuts off every now and then and gets stuck in a boot loop until i connect a charger, it is not the battery though as it is always around 50% when it does it, i tried Re-installing my original rom but it still continues to do it. I tried to install philz touch to be able to reset the phone for a new ROM but when i press the buttons to boot it up it just turns on, does the stuff it usually does before going into philz touch but then shuts off, can someone please help? Im going to austria in a few days and need my phone fixed for then

Hi mate
What S4 model do you have , what rom are you installing?
Do a factory reset and flash rom again
Check your power button...just in case
if you root a stock rom you have to remove all knox related files , did you?

What caused the soft brick?

Ok, I sold my S4 i9505 (rooted and stock firmware 5.0.1) on evilbay and it was working perfectly when I sent it. 10 days after it got to the buyer they say it won't boot and want to return the phone. I'm extremely suspicious and would like to know if it is possible to find out if they have installed something they shouldn't have. A phone doesn't suddenly soft brick itself or does it?

I assume bootloop, because she said it was "constantly stuck in re-boot" . She apparently managed to get into Recovery Mode. I haven't got the phone back yet, but wanted to make sure I got all the info beforehand.

Have you done a full wipe before you give it away? Maybe wiped the system partition?

I did a full factory reset and did a quick test boot afterwards - all was ok. I may have wiped the cache partition but I'm pretty certain that that I didn't delete the system partition.
Does it has guarantee? When yes how long it left.
If you get the phone back I would flash a stock rom from sammobile with Odin, reboot and if it comes to the setup wizard you can give it her back .

Ultimately that's what I'll do, but I won't be sending it back to her. I'm already £££s out of pocket.
Honestly, I think she played about with it and messed it up. It took her 10 days to contact me. And since I booted the phone to the setup screen before I shipped it and it was working fine.
But I would like to know if it's possible to find out if and what she did and subsequently prove that
