Hello!
I finally got the Internet Pass Through to work with my HTC One, though only HTC stock apps and Playstore are working, some apps like Whatsapp are not
Any trick or app to make it work?

Replace stock IM with IM+

is there a way to replace the stock IM with IM+?
with the stock IM i can only connect to MSN or Yahoo when iam online with WLAN not over 2G/3G
but with the IM+ iam able to connect to all networks via WLAN/2G/3G
so is there a way to use IM+ as standard IM for the contacts app also?
I was actually just wondering which apk to remove to uninstall the IM app. I don't think it can be done without screwing up Gtalk.
i thinkss its the t-mobile im app included in CM ROMs

Yup, it's part of the core framework, just leave it alone.
is there a way to force the conection via 2G/3G (maybe like set 2G/3G as virtual WLAN) ?
back when I first got my G1 I used to use the default IM app on 3g/3g with no problems. But I stopped when I realized that EACH I.M. SENT is billed as a sent sms (I didn't have unlimited txting).
You can use a different IM app as the default. Just go to Application Settings>Manage Applications and find the default IM app and select "clear defaults". Next time you try launching the IM app directly from your contacts you can choose which app to have set as the default.
On a side note, I just tried this and although I have IM+ installed (among 3 or 4 other IM apps)I only had two options to choose: IM or Meebo. So maybe you need to contact IM+ about integrating their app or something?
Actually i would like to know how i can tell IM what the SIM's mobile number is ..
I can not use MSN because it can not read the mobile number
( I only have optus Data on SIM .. The mobile number that is bound to it was provided .. for using with MSN on an mobile phone ..)

Facebook Help: Help: An error had occurred while fetching data [null]

All of a sudden I got "An error had occurred while fetching data [null]" every time I want to see my live feed and my own profile from my Nexus One phone (stock Facebook app). I have no problem accessing it from the browser or PC.
Strange thing though, when i log out, then re-login using OTHER facebook account, I can see the live feed and the profile page no problem. Everything works fine again.
However, once i login using MY account, problem starts again.
I have hard reset my N1, problem still there.
Any idea? Please help.
I like the stock Facebook app on N1, don't really want to install another app or use browser to access it.
Oh and my N1 is stock, no root yet.
Thank you
Calm down and take a deep breath I have the same problem. It is not your phone it is facebook server. I had the problem yesterday shortly and today in the morning. Now it seems ok for me...wait until they repair the problem and use the browser application in the meantime...
i had the same issue also, mine seems to be working now though.
so server related not my phone?
phew...
mine still isn't working though
still not working? dang, just give it some time, mine was out a good 6-7 hours
I've had this issue on the Desire ROM where the live feed on the Friend Stream just refuses to update... I was "locked out" for a few days.
strange, it wasn't working for a while until u put the facebook widget on my home. click on the facebook icon, then ta-da! all working again.
Not sure if it was a coincidence...
It's a problem with some 3rd party apps that push data to your facebook feed and the client's interpretation of the XML. Zynga apps being one of them.
You can experiment by hiding various 3rd party apps form your facebook feed (or logging in when you get the error on a computer and seeing what apps were there and not on your phone).
Once they're hidden (or, over time as they pass further down the history list) your feed will work fine.
i don't play games on facebook, nor have i allow any games to be on my profile.
strange, but it works ok now.
Not just games this can be form ANY third party app that has an illegal character in it....this includes quizes, "who visited your profile", horoscopes, any of those things, anything that is not a pure-facebook update.
Same problem here on htc desire S. On wifi all is ok. On 3g ''An error had occurred while fetching data (null.)'' This is very strange.

HTC Sense: Problems with Facebook (Port)

At first I am sorry for my bad english...
I have a huge problem with the HTC Sense... especially with the Facebook integration. My Mobile-Provider is Vodafone and I use a in Germany called "Vodafone-Internet-Flat" which only supports an WAP internet connection. But that's not all... U can only use Port 80 for free (Proxyserver)
For that reason all internet based windows mobile apps work perfectly on my HTC HD2... (also the "normal" facebook app which can be downloaded).
But the facebook app which is integrated in HTC Sense doesen't work... so i can not connect my friends with the facebook account... And there aren't any settings for changing the port for the data connection (facebook [sense])...
I don't know how I could solve this problem
Wait, I want FB in sense. How did you get this to happen?
fb in sense
Facebook is automatically installed as a major icon / app on the US T-mob version of the HD2. It's NOT a good app, tho. In the last 2 days, they fixed it or something because it works MUCH better now (it barely worked at all since Mar 24 release until pretty much today). But it is on there. In settings, if not set as a favorite app on the front page icons

BB messenger-like app for android

I've been searching around for something like this. All it needs is phone signal. This would be convenient when I'm in another country. So yeah, are there any apps like this? Paid included
The ones i can think of are the ebuddy, im+, meebo and imeasy
yeah but those require data connection. BB messenger doesnt, it sorta like has its own private network
But then wouldnt you need a connection to the BBM servers? Which most likely means u need a cellular or data connection.

U can try whatsapp very nice

You definitely need a data plan for BBM it just used signifigantly less data than most cause it does all the thinking n rendering on blackberries end.
On that note, the bad news is that there is definitely nothing comparable in android. Check ebuddy but you're still going to need a data plan, even with a BB.

Try kik messenger, I dont think you need a internet connection for it, I use it all the time. It's in the android market, and its free.
They all use either a data connection or sms as far as I know. What other ways are even possible? Using the GPS to send it over a satellite, or ultra far reaching bt/wifi...
PS:The last sentence is sarcasm...
google talk

BBM uses an internet/data connection to acces BB's servers. You therefore need a data connection/plan to use BBM.
If you're looking for something similar, try the Ping/Pingchat app - it's cross platform (BB, iPhone, Droid) and works in a similar way to BBM (using Ping's own server network).
You'll still require a data connection (need not be wifi, or 3g for that matter) - so you ay even want to stick with something you already use on your computer (google chat, msn, skype etc via multi IMs like Nimbuzz, Fring...the later two can use Skypeout to make VOIP calls)
All apps need a data connection
WhatsApp is your best option. However, it's still in closed beta for Android. When it is released, you will be able to chat with iPhone, BB, Symbian, and Android users by just having their phone number in your phone book.
Google Talk!
Oh I see. I was under the impression that bb messenger works over cellular networks because it has its own network. Thanks for the clarification guys. Mehh blackberry step aside for android

My Tmobile HD2 on AT&T is constantly connecting online

Hi i bought a tmobile hd2 and unlocked it and I'm currently using it on AT&T network. I already did the MMS settings and all that but the phone is connecting online on its own. I would have the phone in my pocket or just on the table and when i pick it up to use it ill find it connected. I already downloaded No Data program. But I didn't disable Media net coz I can't send or receive MMS without it. The phone shouldn't connect online on its own (it does only when MMS is being sent or received). I'm running stock ROM. Can anyone help me plz figure this out.

Did you go into the weather settings and uncheck for it to download automaticlly?
There's a bunch of different apps/processes on this phone that will auto-update and turn on the data connection whenever they're set to. Weather, twitter, stocks, etc, plus anything you might have installed since with auto-updating. For example, Google Latitude can login to update your position even if you're not actively using google maps.
I found out that when i go to data services, facebook is set to ON. so do u think thats whats causing it to connect? when it connects it will stay connected till i manually discconect it. Do u think if i go back and enable media net from No Data it will start connecting again? The reason I had it on coz I synced my contacts with their facebook profiles to ge their facebook pics as contact pics.

Yup that is most likely your problem. Go into the settings for your FB updates and uncheck the option to update automaticly.
