Does anyone know how to disable notifications of devices disconnecting from a wireless network?
I am on a large wireless network (eduroam) with hundreds of devices. For some weird reason I do not understand my phone gives me a notification every time a device disconnects from the network. This gives me an endless stream of notifications in the bottom of my screen, naming the device name and user disconnecting from the network. This is extremely annoying as there are so many WiFi devices on the network.
I didn't even know this was possible on 802.11 networks but somehow my phone does this. I am on cloudystock 1.3.
+1 im experiencing this one also any fix to this kind of prob?

After spending time searching the net for a solution i couldnt find anything as it seems my problem is unique. The issue is when i connect to my router through wifi every thing goes fine however when i go out of range or disconnect for a while and try to reconnect i get a message "Connecting..." then "Disconnected" and it never connects until I restart the router. The issue was worse where it connects for 1 time but the next time it does not detect the router, this was resolved by setting the wifi channel from auto to channel 6. But now i am stuck with this issue that has no solution. I have tried everything from static IPs to mac filtering, i also wanted to update the router (gigaset 504 agu) firmware but could find it. I am currently using x10 with firmware 026 -global. If anyone has a solution plz share it as this problem is really annoying

I have the same problem with my netgear router, it is very annoying...I think this a known issue with some android phones and certain routers.
Its seems no one has a solution, I guess we need to wait for 2.1 and see if the update resolves this issue

Well you could provide internet connection to your phone via your computer. What OS do you have and what kind of internet connection (wired/wireless) does your computer use?
Not that I've ever tried or used it seen as I don't have issues but perhaps this might miracally work..

I believe its worth a shot
P.s - Im pretty sure I've read up on a similar thread to this before..?

It's an android problem. I have this with my x10 and froyo nexus one. The only solution is to quick toggle wifi on/off in the power management widget. I've seen this happen on a Linksys wrt54g and wrt120n. Same with a D-Link dir655m and dgl-4300. If you are really unlucky like me. Having wifi and bluetooth on at the same time with this problem will cause your phone to either freeze or reboot on its own.
I get this with some routers, what works for me is. Data /3G, wifi off, 3g on, wifi on. I use switch pro to quickly configure the toggles.

I use switchpro widget as well...
just to be clear...do you mean you switch off data/mms then wifi off...then switch on data/mms and wifi.
thanx guys for the reply, but none of the mentioned solutions worked
I am seriously thinking of moving out of android because of this issue, its as if the phone doesn't have wifi?!?!
Im having some problems with the wi-fi connection. When it first conects, everything goes ok, but when I start to download anything, the connection just stops responding, even tough it looks like conected. What should I do?
I'm having the same problem and couldn't find the solution, did any solve the problem?
Wifi problem on MS2
After months of researching and suffering the pain I still have not got a full solution for my MS2. My wifi problem is that it connects well, great wifi speed on my home network. But after a couple of minutes there's no more internet access even though it shows that its connected. I chanced upon this link laptopmag.com/review/cell-phones/motorola-droid-2.aspx?page=4 where it had the same problem brought up. It had a solution/fix which I do not want to use though. Further information can be found on the droidforums link on that page. What I have been doing all along is the same as what the guys at laptopmag has been doing, just reconnect whenever internet is down. Irritating yeah, but don't really have any other option..
Hope someone does have a proper solution :X
In addition to the sporadic troubles loading some sites with Flash elements, we had a much more persistent problem maintaining Wi-Fi connectivity. On three different routers, the Droid 2 would connect and then, after a few minutes, would continue reporting that it was connected but stop downloading data. The solution to the problem, once you notice it, is to disconnect from the router then reconnect, but that is a huge hassle.
Our original Droid experienced the same Wi-Fi problem so many times that we eventually gave up and resolved to use 3G only. However, after searching through several Droid forums and finding dozens of posts from other users who experienced the same problem on first-gen Droids and Droid Xs, we found a possible solution that seems to have worked with the Droid 2. After we changed the settings on our 802.11n router from mixed mode to 802.11g only, we did not experience the problem again, though we had to operate all of our computers on the slower 802.11g speed, which is unacceptable.

Hi,
I've recently upgraded to lollipop and it is amazing. The only issue I am facing is my Wifi drops out constantly (at home, the office, everywhere). Smart Network Switch is disabled, so this isn't the cause. Are there any known fixes for this? I've read that it seems to be quite the issue.
Thanks in advance.

I just went into settings / wireless and turned off smart network switching . cured it straight away
I always have it disabled and still happens. At first I thought it was my router, but it happens on every wireless network I connect to.
Sometimes I am not linked to my wireless network. And when connecting to is really slow..
The network may be no problem.
Someone who has the same problem;
Thank you very much.

I'm facing the same problem here. And as you say network it's not the problem. It seems a kind of random incompatibility, because it works on other connections, at friends' companies, other people's homes, even in the hotspot on my laptop.... But still having this issue at home, with my wireless connection.
The stranger thing is... it works without any issue for days, and suddenly, the problem starts, by saying: obtaining IP adress....
From my research - for a solution - there are several devices from other brands that have been facing the same problem.
Edit: I am using Nova Launcher and Teslaunread. I just remove Teslaunread - only to test purposes and... quickly the device has connected to my wireless connection. It worked for me and surely i can live without the notification badges
I use Tesla unread and no problems whatsoever...
I have the same issue with slow wifi. I compared the wifi speed of P9 and P9lite in one environment and wifi fi speed og P9 is twice lower than p9. Anyone with the same issue and found resolution?
I solved this issue by heating the wifi chip with a thermalgun
the wifi chip is behind a metal shield, you can just heat on the metal shield
that way the chip resolder itself
I am facing an issue that my WiFi doens't scan nearby networks.
In my WiFi. It disconnects automatically and then on reconnecting it shows no internet access.
Many times it's not able to connect to a network just saved comes and then WiFi shows to be disabled

It's WiFi bug comes with pie update, contact service centre nearby & ask them to downgrade to Oreo..... they will do it.
I'm really getting disappointed with Nokia day by day. I expected so much. Now I'm seeing stupid issues, like the primary mic not working, and people having wifi bugs. I mean I spent my hard earned money buying this phone, for it to f**k me over in this fashion. They release updates, but they don't do anything about fixing bugs.

Same with me. Never experienced wifi issues.
I'm also facing the same issue now from last 2 days. Any other fix available for this? Other than factory reset or downgrade. Also the restart option doesn't seem to work for me everytime.
Works with other hotspots

I tried using hotspots from my friends and it seems to be working for some reason. No delay in connecting, doesn't get disconnected automatically, doesn't shows no internet. All working fine. Now the question is why with my router at home? Has anyone here tried resetting their routers? Also, are there any compatibility issues going on, if yes then maybe our phone no longer supports old gen routers.
