I use a Qi wireless charging receiver with my Galaxy S4. It works Ok, but as soon as the phone is fully charged the display turns on, and keeps turning on every couple of minutes as the phone continually switches between running on the battery and wireless charging. Since I charge overnight this means that the phone display is flashing on and off for most of the night.
How can I use Tasker to prevent the phone display from turning on while it is on the charger overnight?
Are you rooted? Xposed has a Wireless Charging module that will help

Yes I'm rooted - thanks for the tip. I've just installed the Xposed Wireless Charging module (v1.3.1) and unfortunately it doesn't work on the S4 :0(
Hmm it does on mine

Hmm....so I did the following:
1. Installed Xposed Wireless Charging 1.3.1
2. Opened app
3. Unticked the "wake on charge" option
3. Ticked the "wake on undock" option
4. Rebooted.
When I place the S4 on the charging pad the screen still turns on and displays the "wireless charging enabled" message. Does yours behave differently?
I should say that I'm running Phoexix ROM v7.3 (which is based on stock XXUEML1)

Hey. I was wondering if there was some kind of cm7 add on I could flash and have some kind of led light turn on while my phone is charging. I have a funky charger and would like to know if my phone is charging without having to turn on the screen I'm on neutrino 2.6 ee ..-sigh- I wish I new how to code. xD

Theirs an app in the Google Play market that allows for this, as well change the led color. I tried this on my Atrix and it works well.
Not sure why the led isn't already showing that it's charging for you. But try out this app it's called Light Flow Lite - LED Control.
Hope this helps. If not maybe someone else can help you out =).
Light flow..on playstore

Well its working for me, especially after rebooting. Try rebooting your phone after applying the setting.

I have noticed that mine changes when you get an SMS while charging, but then when you have checked the message the charge led doesn't come back on. But that is on jokersax cm9 not 7.

Here you go this is supposed to do what you asked and a bit extra. Found it buried in the development section.

When charging daydream is the working. Anyone else having this problem?

I think you have to make sure in "USB Debugging" 'always leave screen on while charging' is UNCHECKED...
This worked for me

Basically a screensaver on 4.2 devices, only works if the phone is docked or charging so no battery waste

My I9100's battery died because I used the phone too much while charging it... what's the point of Daydream, then?

The other thing to check is:
Go into Settings -> Display -> Daydream.
Tap When To Daydream.
The default is When Docked. If you want to daydream while charging, you'll need to change it to While Charging or Either.

Battery drain while charging usually shouldn't happen, probably your battery is getting too old

So my nexus had been unplugged and without charge for about 3 weeks or so, I've been very busy at work. I try and connect the tablet so that i can use again and the screen flickers for an instant and nothing happens, I don't see the white icon charging animation and no response after that. It's my tablet done or is there a solution for this. Thanks to anybody that can help.

Ok, I don't really know what exactly the problem is. But I think the battery seems to be dead. because if it is still good, at least it shows the indicator light when it's plugged with charger.. If u have a simple tool to test battery energy maybe u can find out. or maybe try another battery..
Leave it plugged into the charger for a good while and then hold down the power button hard, for about 30 seconds. See if that forces it on.
How long did you leave it plugged in for? It may take a few hours...

It was plugged for like an hour or so and no dice.
I think im screwed

Try leaving it plugged in overnight. I once had a laptop battery die on me, had to plug it in for like a week before it would turn on again.

Your device is hibernating to prevent further damaging the battery. Plug it in... boot to bootloader... select power off using the volume keys... the tablet will now charge normally

hi
My problem is solved, I have a friend who had the same problems with the tablet Nexus 7 16GB, the back of the unit opens easily with just a fingernail to open a case as remote and actually the battery plug is not fully inserted into the camera, a little bit of nail to reconnect the cable and now my tablet displays well 100% load.

Yup - there is a sticky that covers this method, and all the other methods as well. For anyone else suffering from similar N7 issues, be sure to check it out. Either go to stickies in this Troubleshooting section, or use this link.
I plug in my phone to start charging it but the battery charging prompt on the lock screen is now gone and it doesn't have the bolt in the battery in the status bar either. It was working before and then randomly it does away. Anyone shed some light? And it is charging btw, it says it in the About Phone section.

The thing is I've only removed Verizon Accessories so far our of system bloat. But that wouldn't effect charging notifications? Unless I'm missing something there haha

Hello everyone, I switched over from good'ol i9300 to note exynos today.
My question is how do you enable fast charging? It is grayed out as you can see from the screen shot.
Thank you in advance.

Read somewhere that it was available when the phone was switched off and charging, from the picture looks like there is a tick in the box but you are not able to interact.
So my guess is phone switched of and use the fast charger that came with the phone.
Found this, although it doesn't help you

Just a thought did you have the phone plugged into the charger at the time you went into the menus, perhaps it need to sense the charger to activate

I believe this not to be the case, this following video demonstrates the Galaxy Note 4 quick charging whilst being switched on:

Sorry if this is an obvious question but are you using the original charger and cable that comes with the phone? it will only work with these.
Indeed I am using original charger and original cable.
So what's happening here? =_=

Figured out wats going on.
Whilst plugged into usb/ac, the option become non-interactive.
Once I unplugged the cable I could make changes.
