Can anyone explain this issue? I hadn't used my Nook Color for some time and decided to update it. On both stable cm 10.2.1 and nightly cm 11 3/29 this issue is appearing. I had to a picture as I can't save anything to it in ROM.
I've reformatted it on my PC and while booted into the ROM and nothing seems to fix it. I've tried different cards all with the same issue.
Anybody know a fix?

I reformatted the card again. This time I checked the file explorer and noticed android had created the usual folders on the card. This is a picture of the downloads folder.

See, I thought the same thing. But, if I plug it into anything else as is, it works fine with no strange files appearing. The only device the cards have an issue on is the nook color and I've tried, now, 4 different cards, all with the same result of appearing corrupted on the Nook Color but fine everywhere else.

I suppose it could be that your actual card slot in the nook is defective.

Is CM10.2.1/CM11 installed on emmc or sd? Have you tried disconnecting/reconnecting the battery?
They're on emmc. I've not disconnected the battery. Is that even warranted with this issue?

We know the CM downloads aren't the issue.
The four SD cards you tried are functional in other card readers.
So that leaves the nook SD card reader as defective as Leapilar pointed out which means repair time. Costs more to repair than it is worth.
Or, as a last resort, disconnect the battery to reset the circuitry in the nook color. May not work, maybe it will.

Didn't think of that.

Here's an interesting development. I plugged a USB cable into it and accessed the card on my computer while it was still in the nook. Worked perfectly fine. That makes me think it isn't the card reader.
Sent from my Rezound using xda app-developers app
I haven't had time to take it apart to try the battery unplug/replug. But to get it somewhere useful, is there a way, in KitKat, to switch sdcard and emmc storage mount points? I've read about how to do it in CM10(.x) but CM11 runs so much better I'd prefer to stay with it.
Thanks,
The issue seems to be solved. It was an sdcard issue. I used the Raspbmc installer option to restore card and then formatted in CWM and it seems to be working now. I tried reformatting in CWM before and it didn't work until I added the step with the Raspbmc installer. Thanks for all the help.

Just wanted to put this out for those of you who are wondering where all your sd card space went. Go to you SD with a root explorer(I use ES explorer) locate a folder named LOST.DIR it is essentially a trash bin for your phone full of broken files, partial files, random cache files, temp files etc, delete the contents of the folder, or the whole folder if you are doing it from your phone, reboot your phone to rebuild the folder enjoy lots more space. Mine was using just under 4gb(3.98) and more than doubled my free space after deleteing and I haven't had any issues since deleteing since it is all temporary or broken files, by broken files I mean it collects all the remenants of apps you have deleted that left junk files behind but it doesn't empty itself, so mine had almost a years worth of files inside

I was wonder how the hell I'd used almost 11gb up so I was looking at folder sizes found that LOST.DIR and then looked up what it was figured I'd delete it and got back 4gb so I let it run over night no issues and thought I'd share lol basically had everything in it from 2 phones I'd used the sdcard in and copied across new cards not realizing I was transferring 50% junk
We are legion, for we are many
You should have a lost.dir on your SD the evo builds the folder every time it boots but mine is now just an empty folder instead of 4gb of crap lol I now have almost 9gb free instead of just over 3 I found some other folders that were old that I had no use for and got another 3.2 gb back then deleted all my old nandroids and made a fresh compressed on and bam 8.95gb free now lol

There are 2 folders called lost+found on internal but wiping cache and dalvik clear those out so no need to delete them LOST.DIR the only way I've found to clear it is to delete it since its tied to the SD card but being as how its all junk files its safe to delete most of what was in mine was file fragments or cached thumbnails from apps I had deleted that left bits and pieces behind just can't believe it was 3.98gb of garbage collected on my SD from what I understand most of the stuff if put in there when the SD checks for errors at boot or when you mount USB to the PC and don't click eject drive before unplugging
We are legion, for we are many
Empty trash in options on bootmanager does this as well. Got about 5.5 gigs back the first time. There is also a trash100 file you can empty.

My .trash1000 folder was empty and my bootmanager is being retarded first it told me my liscense was invalid so I uninstalled wiped cache and dalvik and then reinstalled and now its telling me "error downloading files check your data connection" X( GrRRRrRRr
edit: boot manager is really starting to piss me off its been more trouble than it's worth first it kept freezing on rom switch and the update.zip wouldn't work so I'd have to nandroid back, got that working but it wouldn't boot from SD rom back to phone rom and I'd have to flash the update.zip or nandroid to get back, and now its giving me all kinds of errors driving me nuts

Damn. Was hoping this would help me. In the last few days, I've lost about 180mb storage. Can't find where its used.
Last month (on a different from), my storage dropped from 520mb to 115 overnight. I found a lot of stuff and deleted it, but next day, my 245mb had dropped to.....(I'm not ****ting you 0kb free space - which, of course had me in a sweaty state of panic). I deleted everything I could. But then next time I flashed a rom (wipe data, cache, dalvik and VRsuperwipe), I got about 600mb back.
I had gone thru every file and folder on my card, and nothing seemed new or out of place. Anyhow, I just checked my LOST.DIR and its empty. But damn, I still have precious MB disappearing. And believe, when I'm hunting I go thru every folder on my SD (hell, I spend 30% of time on my Evo on SD, and the other 70% on xda app).
Anyhow. Thanks.

I was wondering if there's any way to increase storage on the Nexus 4 is it possible to swap out the Nexus 4 internal sd card for 64 gig expandable sd card and load the system on? Short answer: No!
Long answer: There is no way to replace or expand the onboard memory.
There are no internal sdcard in the Nexus 4, that would be extremely poor design. The flash memory is soldered on the board.
You can try the Sandish WiFi flash drive or get the Nexus 5 32gb.
Get a otg-cable and you can plug in a usb flash drive

There are a couple of threads covering this issue. Solutions range from uninstalling knox to some account management stuff.
I just froze the app which is similar to "not having" the app installed. But I prefer keeping stuff on my phone rather than completely getting it off. I do this mainly because I never kow whether or not I may need the app again (actually, I don't know if this is needed for any other Samsung app on the phone).
I tried searching but couldn't find anything.
Also I have no idea what app is trying to do it. When I click okay I have a list of every app on my phone. Doesn't tell me what app is triggering the notification.

Hi
I have an issue not specific with the 6p, I see the same issue with my Nexus5
I use Google Drive on Android to upload photos and videos and other files.
After many months of usage, the Google Drive app size is taking a few gigs and I don't understand why??
I don't use offline files on Drive, and If I clear the cache in the app setting, it doesn't help.
So the only solution I got is to clear all the app data after a few months . Do you understand why?
Is it that Drive is keeping a local backup in the app of every files I upload from the phone?
Thanks

Try that for one of your files (a bigger file probably, >50 MB) in the Drive, and check if the storage spaces consumes more data. It will confirm the situation.

Now when you look into Google Drive, and open the menu of a file. You will see two different options there, Download or Make available offline.
The difference between the two is - 'Download' option allows you save the file to your storage, and you can browse/open/modify it from other third-party apps too, besides just Google Drive itself. On the contrary - 'Make available offline' option, does the same thing, but it saves the file under the app itself, and it could only be accessed within Google Drive.
So, for the latter the file is saved under the Google Drive app, which in turn shows the increase in storage space. If you use the Download option, the app storage wouldn't be affected at all.

But I don't download them and I don't use offline. I just upload a video from the phone to Google Drive, nothing more.
If I look at the file I uploaded, it's not available offline. And even if I delete it from the app Drive I don't get back the storage in the app (not talking about the storage in the cloud)

It is weird then. I only get an increase in the app storage if I use the 'Make available offline' option, otherwise everything just remains the same.
I hope someone else has a solution for your problem.
