Hello,
I installed chainfire 3D ( Yes I know I should have read that jelly bean was no compatible) and am now stuck on the boot screen of my phone. I have got the factory hard reset menu up but don't know what to do apart from that. I have checked on other threads and they are all really confusing for a person that is new to android. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also can I just permanently erase user data or will this brick my phone?

No worries any help at this moment is appreciated haha. I just downloaded the stock rom and yep im in the recovery bootup thanks to this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUwi4YZWbyk
Once I download the stock rom what how do I install it. I don't mind deleting all the stuff of my phone I just want it to work.
If you had cwm you can use adb to remove the .apk via recovery.. twrp even made it easier by having a file explorer inside the recovery..
But if you haven't installed them both i'm afraid you're out of luck..

Recovering your phone at this point wont help you at all my friend :/ you have officially bricked your phone sadly this is beyond my level of expertise in the smartphone world i would take it to a local rooting/roming buisiness on craigslist or i think cricket will do it... call them up and let them know your problem detail for detail they will probobly tell you you soft bricked your phone there is a slight chance they may be able to fix it for 15-50 dollars depending on how bad it is
Can you still get into TWRP or CWM recovery?
If so then you can probably still use an adb interface to push a ROM.zip file to your phone to flash. If you cant then Im not sure how you would go about fixing because we do not have an unlocked bootloader so I do not think you will be able to use fastboot commands to flash a ROM. Maybe someone more knowledgable in this can help you out better than I.
same thing with me
Dude the same thing had happened to me on my gionee p3 and i tried everything but u have to just take it to the service centre and i got mine done for free as i had a warranty but if u dont u will have to pay and also this happens when u download **** things that take the main startup programs of ur phone
.....so best of luck
in short: i need the mojo`s stock android rom in a form wich i can flash with twrp!
Hey Guys,
i am new here. i can t undersund why i can t directly write this thread in the mojo dev section where it belongs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mad-catz-mojo/development
it says i have not enough rights for that - not understundable for me.
to the case:
already from the beginning i had the mojo, i worried becouse there were no recovery system like romanger or twrp available. i worried, if i make me the whole work, with installing configuring apps and system and an error occured, that i will have no posibility to play a working backup back and exact like that, it was comming:
suddenly sixaxis app wasn t working anymore and gave me the error-message: couldn t load hcl-library-something.
i deletet data and cache of this app, deinstalled, reinstalled, still the same proplem. so my worst nightmares came true.
now i had the choice to set the system to factory defaults (not sure if with this the spoken error were fixed) and lose everything and make the whole work again, or forget it and put the mojo to ebay or to look if in the meanwhile a recovery system is available so that i would have the whole work again, but then, through the posibility of recovery i am on the safe side.
so i decide it and i found out that now a twrp was available and and a unoffical cm12 rom:
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][mojo] CyanogenMod 12 Mad Catz M.O.J.O: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mad.../rom-cyanogenmod-12-mad-catz-m-o-j-o-t2976401
let me say, that i am not a linuxfreak or a nerd. i see me as an enduser. i want to use things only, i don t have the time, nerves and even the intention to be more.
explanation: if you want for example fly to anywhere, you must not know how exact a plain is working, becouse you only want to use it.
so you buy an ticket jump into the plain and thats it.
i say that through i am no expert, i managed to install twrp and i managed to flash the custom rom.
then the problems began. after flashing it seems that i have no root. so i must research an half day to find out that you must hit seven times dev options to give the root setting free. i don t understund why people do this and don t give this information clear out. if anyone is able to install an costum rom, then you must not save him, with trying to hide the posiblity of root! this makes no sense for me.
my problem actual is that i need the stock rom, becouse the only thing i ever wantet was a working recovery system and this i have now.
i only installed the cm12 rom, becouse there was no stock rom, so i have had no choice.
I hope anyone can provide me the orginal mojo stock rom that i can flash it with twrp.
so if possible, please help me.
best regards

Flash, the remix OS rom first and then flash this rom. It has to do with the partition structure. i was also unable to flash the stock rom after having CM12 on my mojo, but I first flashed remix OS and then was able to flash the stock rom.
I'm now running the stock rom happily and will not go back to any custom roms. The bottom line is that there is just one dev doing custom rom work and while I appreciate his work, It just doesn't seem like any of the custom roms are there yet in regards to stability.
Is there a keyboard sequence to get into recovery? I have bricked my MOJO because I failed to realize that it failed to flash the stock firmware after I wiped it.
(EDIT) I found a solution to the above!
Okay so the method I used to get into recovery is to use the MoDaCo root tool and edit the superboot-windows.bat file and change boot.superboot.img
to twrp-2.8.7.0-mojo.img. Of course you have to have the TWRP image as well to do this. This got me into TWRP, but the following issue still stands.
Okay, I can't seem to get Remix OS or the factory rom to install, CM12 installs fine though, anyone know how to fix this?
Side note:
I have a TWRP backup of my other MOJO but TWRP doesn't see anything when I choose restore, and I have tried choosing internal and SD card for the source to no avail, does anyone know how to get around that? Or is this just a current issue with this version of TWRP on the MOJO?
Please help need mojo stock rom

Their is a way to get it back to stock
To 1eyedmonster I had left information but I will explain how to do this if you can use ( Firefox internet browser ) you can download the stock frameware from madcatz site where you can find stock 4.2.2 for the m.o.j.o. link to original thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/mad...refox-to-download-madcatz-mojo-4-2-2-t3431587

If you still have issues entering recovery install terminal emulator from play store
Make sure usb debugging enabled in developer options
Then open terminal emulator and enter following commmnds you will need a keyboard for this Then follow these steps
Adb devices (enter)
Adb reboot recovery (enter)
Then you should be in twrp
Hi I'm a new member so can't post in the dev thread. Only just got my shield tv pro and the full ROM was working well. I managed to soft brick it after playing around with xposed and some reboot options. Found out the hard way that I can't boot into recovery, this may even partly caused the soft brick.
Does this ROM actually have a recovery in it? If I try a reboot app and choose recovery it boots to and hangs at a android dude fallen over with a red apostrophy symbol??? Weird thing is I can use flashfire fine, that's how I installed exposed.
Managed to reflash the ROM via fastboot and its working fine now, my only other question is how to fake a different android device. Not sure if something is wrong but there's a lot of everyday apps/games on play store reporting incompatible device.
The OEM recovery is very badly broken. Use TWRP and a USB mouse.
Pre=rooted ROMs are made available but TWRP and SuperSU work just fine.
The reason many apps are reporting 'incompatible' is because their icons don't appear in the console launcher. Those which do not appear are designed for touch devices, not a console with remote/controller. However, you'll find that Xposed/Xprivacy, TiBu and others work, you just have to do some guessing, or plug in a USB mouse for more control.

I tested Cm 12 and Blisspop. I used the latest TWRP from their website and edited the updater-script when I needed to to get rid of getprop checks. Also flashed multirom and ran the Ubuntu port for it. That being said is the Shield K1 going to get it's own forum?
I flashed stock 3.1.1 of old shield tablet on K1...work perfectly
It's the same
Hopefully it means both tablets will get Marshmallow back to back. Nvidia doesn't have any recovery images available for the Shield K1 so here's hoping the OG Shield Tab images work

yeah but this is exactly becouse you want to use rom from older tablet...
Nvidia in K1 rom removed all the stylus stuff...
You can use it...but you lack the "only stylus" mode on all tablet and the nvidia lazo capture tool...
With rom from the old shield tablet you get back all these features.
The only one you have but can't use is the possibility to decide what tablet do when you remove the stylus.
I have istalled the old tablet 3.1.1 on my K1 and i have back all the tools and all is working flawlessly
the only difference beetween k1 and normal shield tablet is the stylus slot....nothing more

Try "fastboot -w" from bootloader menu, then reboot and re-enter recovery, should work. This will also erase your application data and cache, but since you're already aiming for a factory reset, well..

there is really no need for this...
Just follow standard tablet guides...
-I istalled adb driver for shield tablet
-I unlocked bootloader like for the old tablet...
-Adb flashed (with minimal ADB is really easy) a recovery image of the old tablet (because I want stylus option that Nvidia removed from K1 tablet)
-Gain root and flashed recovery with windroid universal android toolkit
All of these are in "general" section of Nvidia shield tablet here on XDA
Finally, I've been looking for this for some time now, thanks sir. Now i can finally start tweaking the tablet to my liking.

Just today morning released a modified version from Steel01 at page 23 of "[OFFICIAL] Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Details" where you're just replied
Hi all,
My Shield TV Pro 2015 unit is stuck at the nvidia logo although I can get to bootloader via hardware method and even fastboot boot twrp. I have followed all nvidia recover tutorials with several versions of Recovery OS image, but nothing seems to work.
From all (the many) threads I have read, it seems that it is possible to "unbrick" the unit by flashing an OTA update public*.zip with twrp. This is the only method I have not tried because I cannot find an appropriate version for 2015 PRO version.
There are some versions online (privately uploaded), but refer to other models like here and here and here.
Have I missed the file somehow or is there anyone that could share this version? Even maybe someone that could share your ideas on how to unblock the unit?
Many thanks in advance for all the possible help,
Carlos
Hello again
I just want to update my own post and at the same time again ask for some help.
So far nobody has stepped forward with a PUBLIC*.zip file download link for the Shield 2015 PRO model (codename foster just like the 2015 16GB model - +1 for confusion master to Nvidia on model release naming) but... I found a hosted file today (it has been freshly uploaded on the 12th/06)) on androidfilehost.com named PUBLIC604eab3c209a3f6146de7e1b8b1ff6c3_foster_e.zip posted by a user named linux4all.
It might be the one... or not. Is there a guru that could point to a file inside these OTA PUBLIC*.zip files that might have some more detailed info about the version that it was built for? The best I could get was this text inside the updater-script:
Code:
getprop("ro.product.device") == "foster" || abort("E3004: This package is for \"foster\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "\".");
ui_print("Target: NVIDIA/foster_e/foster:8.0.0/OPR6.170623.010/3019194_1155.5338:user/release-keys");
No doubt it's for a Foster device, but which one?
Anyone out there (that means you too "linux4all") that could add a bit more info to my already too long babble?
Thanks in advance!

If I understand you correctly you have access to fastboot.
Then why not just register with the Nvidia developer program and download from there:
https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworksdownload
There you can pick any version you'd like to install, they've even got the new 7.0.1 developer images. That would be pre-rooted developer images, but if you install something like 6.0 you can then just follow the normal OTA upgrade path after that.

+1. You can just download a rooted image. Takes just a few minutes to register as a developer.

Thanks for your help and suggestions.
As I had previously described, I already tried all of this before. I am registered as a developer, I downloaded all the images (recoveryOS and developerOS) for my model (Nvidia Shield 2015 Pro), I followed the restore procedure using fastboot method, the console outputs OKs all the way through the restore procedure and at the end (I understand that it means it has succeeded restoring) but when I reboot the unit nothing has changed (still green nvidia logo, still stuck).
So, as an alternative, I want to try and use the TWRP method that seems to have worked at unblocking units stuck like mine, check this post by pendragon666 https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72655717&postcount=3.
But this method requires the OTA zip (they are not available for download from nvidia - if I'm wrong, please, link me to my blindness )
Why is it that TWRP only works with OTA zips? I don't know. But from comparing the two zip files, recoveryOS zip and OTA PUBLIC*.zip, the former is like a small number of image files, plus some scripts but no subfolders (if you download the zip from nvidia and open it you can confirm this), whereas the latter his a zip with many subfolders and files than can be read and applied by TWRP as a zip install.
If I can get to confirm that this OTA PUBLIC.*zip file is for my unit (foster pro) I will try to install it with TWRP and see if it works.
I hope it is clearer now.

Yes, I do. Already did download all images but the process produces zero effect, although it finishes successfully. I tried every single recoveryOS and developerOS image but nothing worked...

Just to add a bit more info I digged from the recovery.log after flashbooting twrp on my Shield Pro 2015:
Code:
ro.build.fingerprint=NVIDIA/foster_e_hdd/foster:7.0/NRD90M/1915764_910.7870:user/release-keys
ro.product.name=foster_e_hdd
ro.product.brand=NVIDIA
ro.product.model=SHIELD Android TV
ro.product.device=foster
ro.product.manufacturer=NVIDIA
ro.hardware=foster_e_hdd
In the OTA zip I saw no reference to "foster_e_hdd" and this might proof of mismatch... or not

Hi all,
My Shield TV Pro 2015 unit is stuck at the nvidia logo although I can get to bootloader via hardware method and even fastboot boot twrp.
Many thanks in advance for all the possible help,
Carlos

I wanted to downgrade from 7.01 to 6.3. I flashed 6.3 developer image pro via flashfire, flash went well but then when rebooted stuck at splash screen. Plugged in laptop and went back to bootloader hit factory reset and 3 hours later all went well

You mean factory reset inside TWRP or nvidia recovery?

you mean "force recovery" (last option at the bottom)? There is no factory reset in my nvidia recovery menus (chosing recovery gives a "no command" output and force recovery makes the screen go blank until you unplug it from power.

Unfortunately the "boot recovery" option after selected just ends with a black screen and a "no command" message written in white letters in the middle of the screen (no dead android robot)
I got here:
8. You may see the dead Android robot on screen. This is expected behavior.
But no robot

Well, wipe finished, reboot and.... nvidia logo (same ol' same)
I forgot to say that I had already performed the "fastboot oem unlock" which is said to factory reset the shield. Although the unlock finished successfully the Shield did not boot.
Back to the drawing board....
Any more suggestions? Anyone?

What version are you on and did you flash anything and then get stuck on the logo screen?
