My question is that the i9500 motherboard is compatible with i9505 componets, for example, camera, AMOLED and Touch, IR Sensor, front camera, usb pcb, etc. My i9505 MB doens't power on and i need a replacement board, it doens't matter if i going to buy a i9500 board, but i don't know if itself would be compatible each other. Regards

I am not a 100% sure, but I would say no. As the CPUs and Chipsets are different. There is a lot behind the motherboards and chipsets, most important to me, voltage management. Lack of power could make a component to perform slower, or the counter side make it burn.

Hey guys I'm hearing a lot about the new HTC evo slide 4g phone that's gonna come out in January. All the specs are in but supposedly there is no front facing camera which sucks. I wanted to know if you have an android phone that's doesn't have a front facing camera could you install one yourself?
I guess back to taking pictures in the bathroom mirror.
It's a safe bet that if there is truly no front facing camera on this model then no, you could not install one.
Several reasons, coming from someone who has seen the inside of all HTC phones on Sprint.
No already ready circuit board connection for it to be added. It's not exactly even easy to resolder charging ports on these boards but soldering in a connection and then harvesting even say an EVO 1.3 mp camera would not be easy/wise specially since the board would have to already have circuitry and chips already onboard to support it in order to solder a connection for the ribbon to slide into. Even my mad scientist self of a repair tech wouldn't alter my circuit board in this fashion.
No drivers to load the camera(although someone smarter than myself could say that something could be built into a rom or kernel for this) but assuming you printed or had access to print the camera circuitry and solder points onto the board to solder the ribbon connector for the Evo front camera just like a circuit board manufacturer does when designing a board there's no gaurantee that it will 100% work properly not to even mention if the original board design does not have room or a large enough area to put all the supporting circuitry.
3rdly, the front bezel/faceplate would need modifications to let the camera view outside the housing. It would more than likely damage the digitizer creating a hole to support the camera infrastructure.
There are many variables here that really don't make sense in trying to add this modification yourself.
Best to wait for the full specs to see if they will be supporting one from the get go. Our 4g phones kind of demand this sort of thing anyway so I'm sure that whatever early schematics we see that HTC designs Sprint Execs who work with the vendors to create a product can easily ask that it be added to the manufacturing process beforehand so its highly probable it will already come with one.
It seems to be on designers minds these days going forward as something the 4G phones easily can support since the network can easily support the function of video conferencing.
Sorry if I got long winded or too technical, I tend to get that way with my customers too.
It's possible

Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Only because the Galaxy S boards are pretty much the same in each version for each different carrier minus the addition of the slider on the Epic.
There's no telling whether or not the EVO shift is going to have the same circuit board as the EVO 4G.
And if it does, Sprint and HTC would more than likely make the decision to go ahead and put that camera in there.
So, it's only possible if they decided to use the same board, and not go with ffc and leave the connector on the board open.
Curious if the soon to be released AT&T Galaxy S4 Active (sgh-i9295) will have any developer support? It will have many additional desired features; I.e. aluminum body; shock, dust, and water resistant. Only to suffer loss of 5 mega pixels in rear camera.

It's the same platform as the 9505 or its counterparts. I'm sure developers will figure out the drivers for the water resistance.

LOL
Not sure if you kidding or not but, drivers for the water resistance? :silly:
Back to topic, accept the camera, everything of the device is the same as the i9505 variant which has development support.

According to Samsungs announcement the S4 Active is not entirely the same. It has a 5" TFT LCD screen - no Amoled - and I'm realy very very happy about that! I don't know if the different screens will make it harder to use roms from the original S4 but I hope not. Also I'm not sure about the aluminium body anymore... According to a few websites reviewing the announcement the S4 still uses an polycarbonate backplate - a thicker one but no aluminium. Would be great if they are wrong on that one.
Now that the one big flaw of the S4 is out of the way (Amoled screens - I just don't like them...) this device sounds very good to me and I sincerly hope that it gets its share of developer attention
i hope they just post its own section soon
Hello,
I can't seem to find any information about this, I can only speculate from the motherboard images on the net.
Thanks for your time.
It should fit approximately. They are the same size.
I know i9500 & i9505 aren't compatible. You'd have to trim some of the chassis parts for some chips to fit in.
I need some more info, so, I'm up for more opinions.
Bump!
As I said, they should approximately fit. They have different chips so the placement and size of some parts might differ, therefor the chasis might need a little adjustment.
Thanks GDReaper for your input on this.
I'll BUMP once more, since I have a few days left before I actually buy the motherboard to hear if other people have opinions on this.
I have two phones. One is a busted screen g935f.
I want to take the guts out of the g935f and put it
In the g935v (which is a Qualcomm variant) and use
The body and the screen of the g935v. Will the parts
Fit? Will it work?
Thank You!
As far as I know the only difference betwee these two models is just the cpu
The design screen size and what not is the same, so it should work.
I've heard that the placement of some of the parts are a little different Between the Qualcomm and Exynos versions but I'm not sure.
That the body or frame is manufactured a bit different from the two.
It would be so much easier than having to tamper with that ridiculous edge screen.
Just take the backs off and swap parts.
Logic would dictate that the bodies are the same
Inside But, knowing how stupid these companies are.
Even if I have to forget about the camera connections. I just want access to all the Exynos roms here at xda.
Hello, guys/girls.
The thing is I already changed the battery of the device, now I have to change the charging port because it is getting to a point where I can hardly charge the device.
My points is this:
Can I get some damaged galaxy s8 950F with broken screen lets say and just get the motherboard with the SoC and swap it with mine because I hate myself for not searching to see that the snapdragon is bootloader locked and I hate that.
Thank you and have a lovely day!

It's almost a certainty that it would not work with just a motherboard swap. As far as I know the screen and frame and probably some small parts like the vibration motor, headphone jack, fingerprint reader, loudspeaker and possibly the wireless charging coil would be transferrable. You'd need the G950F motherboard, charging port board, camera modules (Snapdragon cameras are Sony IMX while Exynos cameras are Samsung ISOCELL and aren't interchangeable) and possibly the black plastic module at the top rear of the phone that contains the antennas. Basically you'd need a G950F with a broken screen to get all of the required parts.

Thank you, Sir!
I am glad I post it here before buying the broken phone!
I have never changed a display before and I don't think I can do it because of the curved screen and I think I will brake the working one so I think I will stick with it.

Well, you wouldn't actually be swapping the screen, you'd be keeping the screen and frame of your G950W and basically transferring all the components from the G950F into it. It's not terribly difficult to do if you have all of the parts, but you'd have to do your research to make sure you know how to do it. Lots of videos on YouTube and a guide on iFixit to go by.

I will second this. As i have repaired and dismantled several s8s. Their not really hard. But you most def need the right stuff to do it.
Thank you for the answers, gentlemen.
I will try that and see what happens.
