Most of the time I got this message from stock android browser.I tried chrome, dolphin. But no use. Anyone face the same problem? Please help me

I have this same problem on sprint model. Happend on zv8, and zva. Usually if I close and restart the browser it works again. I have no fix but it does happen. I also get pop ups in the stock browser alot for sites that have security certificates that say they are invalid. However when I inspect them, they are. The latter happens a ton when browsing XDA actually. Its related to the advertising they use on the site.

Mine does it but only o in the stock browser, I switched to boat and disabled stock and it works fine

Browser back button bug?

I've pretty much been experiencing this issue since I got my Xoom, but can't find any information on it. Most of the time when attempting to use the back button in the browser it does nothing. If I press it multiple times it sometimes triggers, but I usually end up multiple pages back. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
Sent from my Xoom using XDA Premium App
Try switching to Quick Controls, and see if the back button there exhibits the same behavior:
Browser | Settings | Labs | Quick Controls
Touch the edge of the screen to bring up the control wheel, then swipe to the back button. Does this also not register?

i rarely use the browser back i use the the back button on the notification bar and have no issues with it. if the web page has re-directs before it when you hit back it will just re-direct you to the same page
I actually use the notification bar back button most of the time too, but it is the same function. I tried the thumb controls with no luck. I think it may be just the site as the others I had issue with (all heavy JavaScript) seem to work fine now.

I've had this problem, too. At first I thought it was similar to the twitter issue on phones, where you have to mash back a few times to actually leave a twitter page, but it seems to happen any time I load a webpage with flash on it. I haven't really had a problem when it comes to pages without flash elements, but who knows if that's actually the problem.
Have you updated to the latest version of flash? It greatly increased the performance and decreased the strain it would cause on the CPU/browser.
I too am experiencing this bug. It doesn't do it for every site, but is getting more frequent. Did you find a fix for this? I I am running rooted 3.1
I have the same problem as well, it all seemed to start when I flashed someone CWM flashable desktop UA String fix
I've got the same thing on my Transformer, must be a bug in the browser.
I never had that problem , maybe it's because you are rooted . However , I do have this problem with gmail .
Have you all changed the browsers default (as in, by somehow changing the framework, and not the about:debug method) UA String to desktop? I have only been having this problem since I flashed someones UA String fix on my Wifi only Xoom (US). I know that changing the UA String's/browsers framework can cause some weird things to happen such as with one fix, the screen won't rotate 180° from the normal landscape view (Camera ontop and Motorola logo/name are to the top left of ur screen. Please respond if you have done a UA String change and now have the back button issue or other issues, thxs.

I have not modified the browser in any way apart from rooting.
I have that bug. Going to apps / all apps and clear cache and force close browser helps it. I have a modified UA string. But having done the mod myself, I can't see how it would mess up the back button. I'm betting bug.
It does look like a bug, but seen as there at not a huge amount of seems to make me thinks it could be fixed by wiping the browser settings. Maybe some configuration somewhere got corrupted. Is there a way, say using titanium backup, to wipe just the browser settings?
Clearing the Data and Cache for the App in settings should clear all of these, if you want to reinstall the whole browser your probably going to have to reflash your ROM and clear all data and cache.
I am having this same issue I went back to completely stock and flashed tiamat 1.4.4 and it still does it! The issue occurs in both the stock browser and Dolphin HD it is extremely annoying!
i finally found a solution if you update the host list in adfree android it causes the back button to not function properly. I reverted my host list and everything works great now! I ended up uninstalling adfree though cuz its nearly useless without host list updates
I can confirm this fix, frustrating as it is you can choose this bug or ads. I personally choosenthe bug. Maybe there will be a better fix later on, maybe something to do with the ip of the hosts file
OK, I have been messing around with this and I noticed that when the back button doesn't do anything there was an iframe ad that just refreshed the iframe.
So, I changed the ip in adfree to be a pc on my lan with an apache server. It was setup to redirect all traffic from a blank page. This stopped the iframe from refreshing. Now the back button works fine
Now, does anyone with more knowhow know of a more efficient way to sort this out? I have a wifi xoom that is always at home so it's OK for me, but for others a better solution is needed
Ive got this bug too -- can you be more specific how to edit the hosts file?

Browser Crashes

I have experienced some browser crashes in the past week, on multiple sites, and especially when visiting IGN.com. Its sort of a flash heavy site, but it still happens when I have Flash turned off.
Anyone else having problems with browser crashes? It has happened with both the stock Android Browser as well as Dolphin HD Browser.
yeah lot's of random crashing with default browser, I have installed every browser available but none offer the same as desktop experience. Browsing is (for me) the most disappointing thing about the tablet.
Happens to me quite often. Well happened. If you can live without JavaScript turn it off. Just enable it on sites that you really need. For me the sudden browser closures (not FCs) happend mainly on sites with JavaScripts.
Yes lots of crashes for me as well. I tend to have a lot of tabs open, and it is particularly annoying that there seems to be no way to automatically open up the same set of tabs (anyone know if there is a way to do this)...
same here, getting very tired of having to turn flash and java off to make browswer stable, hell if wanted this i would have bought a ipad2!
Much of the content on good sites is java & flash, for me its only been really bad the last 7 days. Come on android/ Asus, sort it please!

Just did that and both the stock browser and Dolphin HD work MUCH faster and no more FCs. Question--is the Java engine part of android, or is it in the browser? If it is in android, then I guess there is no point in trying other browsers.

holy, I've experience about 10 force closes. My browser doesn't even show the pop up force close notification, it just closes and returns me to my launcher -.-
same here ,really annoying..my nook colors stock browser on cm7 was alot better as well as flash support on it...hopefully soon it ll be adressed...
i just experienced this during the weekend. anyone contact ASUS about this?
this is surely a software issue which can easily be fixed (i hope)
Wow - glad I am not the only one. I really hope this issue gets fixed, its annoying to say the least!
+1
Me too, hope they sort it soon.
I found that clearing my cache through the manage app settings helps me to load a page after a crash. It usually happens if I have over 25 MB worth of cache from previous browsing cessions.
I must be lucky... I've had no problems with my browser at all, I'm very pleased with it.
I Use Dolphin HD. Only Time my Browser Crashes is when My girl uses it and she gets on Tumblr. Weird..
Edit: Oh and it only happens after a While of use on that web Site.
Guys, I just turned off the fast scrolling in the advanced menu and it's stopped crashing. Can anyone else test?
so far so good. Crossing my fingers.

Problems with web browser

Not sure if it just me... Since the Touchwiz update I semi to get lots of glitches when browsing web pages... Strangely the problems happen both in stock browser and dolphin hd
1 - often get message that there is a problem with certificate and tipically then if it is a purchase or something following a login then it gets stuck on the page
2 - stalls on random pages... Click on a link and page don't open
3 - can enter information in forms but just some fields...
4 - often can't open hotmail
5 - lots of little issues in facebook.
Etc. Small things but irritating as i had to pull out my pc to complete operations... Even stranger as my android phone never had these kind of issues...
Anybody else with these issues?
Any tips?
the browser crashes when clicking on pull down menu!
I had alot of problems as well including syncing bookmarks. Going into applications and clearing defaults and data seemed to reset the browser for me and haven't had any issue since.

Did anyone notice that if you download a file it shortens the name?
For example when downloading pershoot's kernels this "boot-cm_2636.4_ux-oc-xtra-vfpv3-d16_fp-080911.zip" becomes "boot-cm_2636.zip". Might not see like an issue but if you are downloading the ux version and the non ux there is no way to tell which is which unless you remember which one you download first because the second one will be named "boot-cm_2636-1.zip"

My experience with Xoom stock browser.
I had most of these problems on 3.0.1. With 3.1 update things got better, but still had some problems. I haven't had any problems on 3.2. I set flash On demand, this also helped a little. These seem to be general problems with HC stock browser.
Thanks - at least looks like it might get better as they push out updates to HC - mind you probably Samsung is not going to be in any hurry to do update....
I'd say these issues are not normal, so it's worth trying various things to fix them - I'd start with the already-mentioned clearing of app data, then perhaps a factory reset.
My browsing experience with the 'new' browser that came bundled with the TW update has been nothing but a spectacular improvement. Having flash on-demand and an ad blocking hosts file may also help.
Maybe not relevant, but I read elsewhere that Dolphin is just a front end or skin over the stock browser framework. If true, that might explain why you have the same problem in both. Maybe try Opera and see if it does the same thing?

Clear your browser's app data in Manage Applications.

Virus Detected

Okay, so I decided to take my Nexus 7 back to stock before I upgraded to 4.4 so I erased everything, formatted, returned to stock 4.3 and the I updated and rooted with SuperSU while keeping stock recovery. I honestly haven't touched my Nexus since then because I been inundated with work. Today I pick it up and browse to xda on chrome to download some files and while going through the forum I get a pop up (one of those old school ie pop ups) that says "Android virus detected on device, scan now."
Now granted, I haven't yet installed any ad-blocking services but I can't even remember the last time I got a bogus pop up like on my computer let alone on a mobile device, and never on xda. WTH? Not gonna lie, kind of freaked me out. Anyone else experience this?
Okay seriously now I'm actually worried. I just decided to reset the device and now I'm stuck in the start up. I get to the WiFi selection page. I click my WiFi enter my password and it connects BUT there's no way to move forward. There is no next button. The only thing on the bottom of the screen is the back nav key. I've turned off and restarted the device twice and no luck. First I get apps and Google services stopping all over the place and now the start up wizard is acting out. I don't want to re-flash 4.4 all over just yet. Any one experience this before?

Crazy, never had these kind of pop ups before. Did you ever have them before updating to 4.4?
The problem with resetting is I keep getting stuck on the freaking wifi page. It connects but instead of moving to next page after I click connect, it just connects and remains on the same page. I try clicking forget and re-entering the pw but nothing works. I've even tried resetting and clearing cache from recovery and I still keep getting stuck on this damn page. Frustrating. I guess I really am going to need to re-flash the update.

Do you have access to any other Wi-Fi network (like a Tethered connection from your phone)? Can you try connecting to it and see if you are able to move forward?
I'm getting the pop up asking to scan but I cancel it and it goes away. That's been my only issue.

Yeah, this is beginning to get on my nerves. Resetting has made *no* difference for me. In fact, I just re-flashed the whole freaking update and first webpage I open up in Chrome, pop ups, switch to dolphin, pop ups, firefox, pop ups. It's happening on two devices and one isn't even rooted. Are your pop ups from ib.adnxs.com as well? Because that's where all my "virus" pop ups are from. I would say it's malware but I haven't even the slightest idea where it might have came from. As of right now the only apps on my devices apart from the pre-installed ones are Greenify, Solid Explorer, Quickpic, Stickmount, SuperSU, Dropbox and ZArchiver. Never had malware with any of these apps so I don't even know where this ib.adnxs is generating from and it's annoying the ever living **** out of me.
I don't know if I should suspect the GEL or the Google Search update, because really I can't think of where else this is coming from.

1. Where did you get the "stock" image?
2. Where did you get the update OTA?
I only ask because yesterday I DL'd a "stock" image for another device from Sammobile & I found that it had some host file changes. The odd thing was that for the first time I can remember, my corporate security client wouldn't let me DL it as it detected a risk, so I dl'd to an isolated secure drive & tore into it, hence finding the modified hosts.

So I did a brief search on ib.adnxs and a bunch of links came up talking about malware affecting browsers. Mostly pop ups happening everytime you open a web page or a new tab.
http://malwaretips.com/blogs/nym1-ib-adnxs-com-virus/
Check this out. If you google on "ib.adnxs android", there is a link that talks about android browsers been affected by it too.
Hope it helps.
Probably malware infected ad server and has nothing to do with the image as long as you got it from a legit source. You can reduce your risk by using something like OpenDNS servers.
Sorry for the late reply. Yeah, I looked it up as well but man it's still frustrating. I Know it' not the OTA or the GEL/Google Search because I got them from a legit source (AP), I was just venting. I don't even know if it is the servers, no one else in the household is experiencing it, hell even my note 2 doesn't have the problem. I'll try using OpenDNS to see if it makes any difference.

I tried running Avast and MalwareBytes and nothing comes up, but I'm still getting the same pop ups, both "virus detected, scan now" and almost full page pop up ads that I can never close. Seriously, trying to close the ads just takes me to a new page, backing out is the only thing that works for some of them. I'm stumped. SuperSU is updated so no worries there. I even went back and locked my bootloader but I don't think that has anything to do with it since the second tablet isn't even unlocked. I'm beyond frustrated, I almost threw my Nexus on the hardwood. I'm going to try flashing the factory images straight from Google. Don't expect it to change anything but...I'm using my note 2 in the mean time.
I'm the only person in the household with android tablets (the phones seems to be fine oddly enough but then again none of them are updated to kitkat). My friend has a Nexus 5 so I'm going to get her over here on my wifi to see if the pop ups show up in her browsers. Maybe this thing has been on the servers all along and there's a vulnerability in kitkat that's allowing it through? I don't know.

Chrome and other browsers lagging after Marshmallow update.

Got the update notification yesterday on my X Style but after installation, I noticed that regardless of what browser I use, the phone lags. I tried clearing all data via the chrome settings and restarting my phone but that didn't fix anything. The lag is really noticeable on every site I visit. It definetly did not do this on Lollipop.
Browsing on the phone has now become really irritating. Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix?

WTF.. is this happening to everyone on this update 24.11.18.en.US? That sounds like a significant issue..
I downloaded the update yesterday over Wi-Fi after taking out the SIM tray because it wasn't showing up on T-Mobile but haven't installed it yet because I keep seeing people complain about browser-Wi-Fi-call connection issues.. where is the update downloaded to so I can uninstall it to avoid the annoying reminders if there are so many issues..

Have you tried updating-uninstalling-reinstalling Chrome? What about other browsers like Boat & what % of new-regularly visited websites lag?
Just curious, what size MXP-32GB & what carrier?

Reinstalled Chrome but that did not work. I've tried other browsers such as Firefox and a handful of others but they all perform the same.
Every single site I visit now lags and stutters during and after the page has loaded. On Lollipop, I've never encountered lag/stutter doing anything on this phone. I'd usually have 5-10 tabs open and the phone would still fly. After updating to Marshmallow, sites such as XDA, OCN, Reddit, and basically all the sites I usually visit that loaded and performed fine on the previous Lollipop install now lag and stutter very noticeably.
The MOTO X STYLE I've got is the 32gb version bought from Handtec in the U.K, and I'm on o2.
Reading through this thread and many others, it's clear that I'm not the only one experiencing problems with the new update. Just wish Motorola would fix it already. They obv test new versions before release but I just can't understand how they messed this release up so bad. Lollipop was amazing on this phone, how could they screw up Marshmallow so bad??

They obv test new versions before release but I just can't understand how they messed this release up so bad. Lollipop was amazing on this phone, how could they screw up Marshmallow so bad??

It is frustrating..do Nexus devices also have such update issues?
Could try to contact them at: https://motorola-global-en-uk.custhelp.com/app/mcp/service?g_id=5141&session=LBEOPUDm
Unfortunately "You cannot downgrade to a previous software version after installing this update" according to https://motorola-global-portal.cust...prod_answer_detail/a_id/109124/p/30,6720,9541 (I'm in USA currently on a T-Mobile SIM) so my downloaded update will likely go uninstalled until the update issues are figured out.. Anyone know where the update is downloaded to so I can delete it or how to stop the reminders to install it?

Browsing via chrome is really laggy!
Try to read some long article on Wikipedia website.
I'm using FireFox instead it for now... no lag there.
There is also a problem with some 4K videos on Youtube!
Try to play this video (make sure you are on 1440p).
Video freeze after about 10 seconds and the audio is running

I just noticed this on youtube, and some times even the keybiard lags while using a browser. It justs sucks.
I am also seeing this problem. With MM, Chrome seems to stutter and lag much more on sites with heavier graphics and ads/pop ups.
I don't have this kind of problem, but i did a factory reset as soon as the MM upgrade was over, i think it's always a good idea to do so after a major release. My browsing experience is as smooth as before with facebook website for exemple as i don't use the application.
Nevertheless, I have also experienced troubles with youtube, some video starts with only the sound, i have to relaunch the application to find a correct behaviour.

It's the same hardware with same OS update so why is it affecting users so differently? Is it some software conflict caused by impacts of different apps? I'm assuming MM will prompt users to update their apps specifically for MM (where available)..
I'm resisting installing the update to MM until this is resolved..
