Hi guys.
The other day I managed to hide an folder with an image in it but now I can't remember how I did this.
I can unhide the folder but I can't add any files.
The reason why I'm searching for this is because I added music folders to my external card and the images are showing up in my gallery which I rather don't have.
Can you guys guide me through the steps. I rather not use the method with the dot (.foldertohideexample) in it.

Use Quickpic. You can exclude and include folders in the settings.
Alternatively, open the folder, hit the option key --> Hide items.

Tried the app. Deleted it. Don't like the way it sorts.
I can hide in every other folder but not those folders. They are images inside the album folders on my sd card. Same goes for other images after trying. Everything that is in the phone storage itself can easily be hidden.

Just to make sure you understand that you put a file named ".nomedia" in any folder and it wont list the contents in most apps that look for media

Place the files from the Zip into the root of your SD Card.

Are you on Windows? You have to reconnect your Desire and enable Mass Storage to see it.
Works great, very nice one dude!
My fault, i had put the files in the folder on my sd card.
now i tried it whit the files w/o the folder and it works!
It's really nice!

if u modify the autorun.inf on the icon part to say icon=whateverfolder\HTC Desire.ico
e.x ICON=resource\HTC Desire.ico
Then you can have the icon in whateverfolder you want, and it will still be read when mounting the device (if your like me and dont like more than neccessary in the root directory of the SD card.
here http://iirojappinen.deviantart.com/art/HTC-Desire-icon-163467079
mmm.... seems that when i copy the autorun.inf and ico file to my sd on the desire.... it deletes the inf file!!!
Thanks for that tiny but nice icon mate

Same here.. if i disable and enable mass storage the .inf file is gone
maybe anti virus software delete it
Don't have such a thing
Its the same for me, even if I make the file read only....
Yeah, it has nothing to do with antivirus s/w ...... my antivirus s/w didnt quarantine anything, or flag the autorun.inf file.... i even disabled the av... and tried again... same issue...!Oh well...
Simple but very good idea! Working well on my desire! Just used the alternative icon with the display on and looke awesome! Thanks!
Thanks ! looks great now and with a personalized name
Tried this a while back, autorun.inf just gets deleted from the SD card when I enable Disk Drive mode.
Absolutely great taste, A+
Same here, since I upgraded to Froyo using the HTC update with sense it kicks off the *.inf from the SD-Card, saaaaaad.
PS: I have no antivirus or else active by the time I tested it.
What is the best way to roganise my phone?
I plug in my phone and all i see are folder's after folder's and file's after file's
totally, unorganised it looks a complete mess and to be honest i dont even know what most of the files are for as well as folders.
102 items in the root of my phone & Sd-Card, am trying to tidy it up,
I want all my music in a Music folder as apposed to 3 which I have Music, Music Junk & Music_online , its really unorganised. Photo's and Video's need to be organised as well.
So i have applications that create folders in the root. , can i not add a folder called Applications, and then the apps will create folders in their or somthing?
Anybody got any idea's and will i be ok to delete most of these folders and files?
Thanks
I too find it a complete mess, although I have organised my media folder. Here's what mine looks like right now...

Thanks for the reply, I had a LOT more than that in my list haha, so what i decided to do was just backup my music / photos / apps (.apk) / video's and format my card, then place the backup back .
looks alot tidyier now =D

I've rooted mine so think some of what's on there will be needed, so I'll just have to put up with it. I've had to flash it 5 or 6 times already by tinkering, only had it a week too lol.

If normal installation didn't work out well for you, use the method below.
Procedure to install via Root Explorer Method
1. Download the apk file from the above link to your sd card.
2. Now using Root explorer, go to /system/app
3. Mount the system to r/w.
4. Now search for Vending.apk & rename it to Vending.apk1
5. Copy the file you just downloded to /system/app & rename it to Vending.apk
6. Now press & hold the app and select Permissions
7. Select only the options given below. Now REBOOT & enjoy.....
thanks very much! any chance of hosting the file on XDA?

Auto update with wifi on combined with cm7 hboot causes a restart if you have much apps that is going to be updated. Probably because of high data write velocity and small cache.

I could not find mine either.
Some people said its in media > data > clockworkmod
What i did was go back to recovery, select back up options and then chose delete.
That deleted them manually.
You should try that.

Thanks guys, the only way I managed to do so is from the Recovery itself under Delete options, nothing found in my file manager, or even a root explorer

I have TWRP installed but when looking through what's taking space on my phone via DiskUsage, it says there is a clockworkmod backup folder that's taking up 2.4GB of space. No matter how many times I delete it, it reappears again for no reason.
This is what I mean:

"lightbox_next": "Next",

}
When I delete it, the "Freespace" section boosts up to 3+GB. Is there any way to get rid of this? I think I did something wrong when installing recoveries (I had clockworkmod installed at first but promptly replaced it with TWRP)

I couldn't delete the folder so I went into the folder itself and deleted the files individually. Is there a way to completely delete that folder? Using DiskUsage and the Root Browser on Rom Toolbox Pro doesn't seem to delete it. I don't even use Clockworkmod anymore hmm

If you're rooted you should be able to delete it. See if you can change its permissions to read/write. Just delete the clockworkmod folder and subfolders. Don't try to delete /mnt/shell/emulated

That was odd. It didn't work (even if im rooted or changed the permissions) but when moving it to the sdcard partition, it deleted it from there it was successful. Now, its gone and its contents are gone so I have an extra 2.4gb to use on my phone now. Thank you for the help! It's been like this for months.
