According to this thread, safe root appears to be working for Galaxy S4. Will this work for Note 3?
Pardon this question if it's dumb.
Thread link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
It seemed to work for N7100.
Update:
OK it won't work.

To use cf autoroot . So whats the best way to root my device.
If you still have android 4.3 jelly bean then use root De la Vega. That version doesn't unlock the counter in Knox

Cf auto root is fine provided you accept that it will trigger Knox to 0x1.

Rooting will allow root apps to work. If you want to remove knox then flash a custom rom.

As a relative newbie I find the above undecipherable. What is cf root? I just got a note 3 and none of the "one click" programs succeed. I got developer options visible and usb debugging turned on. What do I do next and where can I get cf root whatever it is. I still have twrp leftover from my s3. Any use?
Thanks for the help!

CF-Autoroot :

Read the thread carefully before you continue, find the suitable file for your Android version. You never provide the details of your device.
Btw, your somehow "leftover" from your S3, are not usable anymore.
Different device need different methods of rooting, recovery, and ROMS. No other device tools can be used for cross device unless with a proper code porting.
Cheers.

SM-N900V VZW version of Note 3
VRUBMJE
Android 4.3 (yuck)
Thanks in advance and yes I rooted my S3 and got frustrated when they pushed 4.3 out. I had to re-root and I never could find a launcher I liked for it. I bricked my S 3 a few times finding my way around. From advice found here I succeeded in recovering several times. I have TRW on the phone but I'm assuming it won't be that useful.

Hi, I want to install the leaked kitkat on my Galaxy note 3, but all the guides I read say you need safestrap installed.
I tried searching and I cannot find any guides on how to install safestrap on the galaxy note 3. My device is rooted, so maybe its already installed?
Any guidance is appreaciated

1. If you're trying to just root it just use towel root. Its super easy and it works well with the galaxy s4. Just google search towel root and first link should be it
2. This is the wrong section. There is a q&a section for a reason, for questions to be answered. So please use it
Thank you
Okie sory
Thanks for your information let me try and let you know

Did you even use Google?
Maybe try something like "Root I9515 Lollipop"??
The first result tells you how. Cf auto root.

No. You can search it for yourself. I even gave you the instructions what to type. This is not a helpdesk for you to be lazy.

I tried that too but I'm only receiving things about the I9505. And if I've found one result about rooting the I9515, I only see posts telling how to root on an earlier version. So I'd like to know what site you saw about rooting the I9515 running on Android 5.0.1 as you said.
Thank you.
Read his post carefully. When he did that search, what was the first result he said popped up? Search for that.

I've got a result called rooting I9505 running kitkat 4 . Something
And when you read that link what does it tell you to do?
cf autoroot doesn't work properly on Lollipop. You will have the following issues:
1. you will notice that Android will update only 1 app on startup after the wipe
2. This is the severe one: If you wipe your cache anytime after you've rooted your phone, you will softbrick ist. No single app will work, you won't make it to the home screen.
Some guy tried it here: Android Lollipop 5.0.1 Rom with ROOT
I recommend one of the following methods:
Install this CWM 12.1 for i9515, it works quite fine: [ROM][CM12.1][UNOFFICIAL][2015-09-18] CM12.1… | Samsung Galaxy S 4 i9500, i9505, i9505G, i9506 | XDA Forums
Root is preinstalled.
OR, and this will be a pain in the ass: Wipe your phone, Install Kitkat, root it, and update to Lollipop via FlashFire. I myself did this according to THIS instructions, although I don't speak Spanish i managed to do it. It's actually pretty easy. Google Translate will help you out with critical info.
That must be an I9515-specific problem. If you're having issues, let Chainfire know, as CF-Autoroot works perfectly on all the other devices.
