OMG, i just discovered:
GOOGLE
Rename the Tsk to cab and then you can open it with Total commander, or any Winrar, winzip or other compression utilities and extract the files.
Rename tdywater named file to jpg and that's it. (there are 4 jpg files in tsk backgrounds for portrait and landscape and the same for menu backgrounds).
Ive been trying to edit the Quicklauncher skin .xml to launch other apps instead of the HTC Album and the Actionscreen, but after I overwrite the existing xml's with the edited the plugin doesnt display. I edited with Frontpage the copied to devices' \Windows folder using Resco. Could somebody double check me to see where I missed it?
make sure your image files are 24 bit depth... your menu may be there just not visible...
I didnt do anything to the images, just changed the links.
do you have the original files
someone correct me if im wrong but you cant just use frontpage to edit the xml files, you have to edit the xml files in something that keeps it in windows ce format. you can use notepad. just right click on the file and select open with and select notepad

I think the problem is you're using *.LNK
AFAIK you can only make links to *.EXE
for the photos I dont see any ql_pimg.lnk in my windows folder, if you change that to \windows\pimg.exe it will sure open your pictures.

Did the lnk and exe combinations, didnt work. Instead the plugin doesnt even load after the overwrite.

I'm running into the same problem. Once I overwrite the XML files and place the new Icons, I get a blank plugin once I start it up.
Ok, I've found the cab that removes the top curtain. NoTopCurtain.cab removes it, and every search I did only lead me to threads asking the same with no solution...

I've seen the semi-transparent bars in peoples screenshots, would somebody care to tell me how this is done?
Get your device. ActiveSync it. Explore it. Find file 18c460d8_manila in Windows folder. Copy it to your PC. Save it to a folder somewhere.
Download Manila Editor. Select Path in Manila Editor > Point it to the folder you just saved the 18c460d8_manila file. You'll see a blank image listed in manila editor.
Export it and open it with your favourite gfx editing program. Edit it to a semi transparent colour. If I remember rightly it's a 2pixel wide (128 high) image that 'spans' across the screen.
Use manila editor to replace the file with your newly edited image. Then copy the 18c460d8_manila file back to your device in \Windows.
Wallah! All done. You can find everything you need via Searching and reading!
thanks
Thanks, I should be able to get it done
i have a 1864da05_manila .... but no 18c460d8_manila

A quick and dirty fix for the documents tab translation, is for you to search all of the 4 manila files on the documents ext folder, and add them to your manila_core ext folder main language file
I dont know the name of the files, but if you open every xxxxxxxx_manila file with notepad, you'll find the language files

Thanks for your time....
If you have decompiled an apk, you would obtain alot of files such as values-en,values-de etc in the /res folder. These folders contain all the translations of the rom. If you want new languages then decompile any app which has your language and copy all the folders starting from the name "values-" to decompiled framework-res.apk.
