Verizon LG CD installer - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Any way to remove the installer that auto-launches every time you plug the LG VS980 to a PC? This is extremely aggravating.

check this thread out. I had the same thing.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
this reverts you completely back to stock. You will lose all your data but you did back up regularly, right?
(edit) you only have to hold the volume UP key while plugging in the USB on a D801 to get into download mode.
Make sure you've disconnected usb when attempting to enter recovery. Hope the silence means you've sorted it out!

i felt like going back to stock from (was on cm11 nightlie) so i went on flashify and for some reason i tried restoring twrp and when it rebooted it messed it up bad -.-
I am able to get into TWRP to flash a ROM. I have tried the Stock Sprint Root ZV8 and it just reboots into TWRP. I was unable to get it to work with the LG Flash Tools.

If you're trying to unpack the ROM try redownloading the rom.
You're saying that you have CM installed? I had this exact problem and I had PA installed.. it was a mess. I had to sideload the original ROM because to flash with that program your build.prop has to be the original information when you received the phone or else the program will throw a "different phone model"
Do you have the LG usb drivers? Install all proper USB drivers and try to sideload an original ROM.
BTW do you have any backups? Restoring also gets you out of this mess
never mind i opened the wrong folder thanks for everything guys it worked perfectly ^.^

In case you don't know, you can supposedly get rid of it by displaying an all-white screen (with display brightness turned down to preserve bulb life).

Rule 1 : Read everything, then read it all again then understand what your reading then flash
As for the "bricked" phone, people need to learn what a brick is however this guide is almost guaranteed to fix the issue for you, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

I installed Rom Toolbox pro just paid for it too. Made a back up using twrp deleted my old back up tried one final time to install the new cyanongenmod nightly that didn't work so I rebooted the back I had just made and my died. I should also mention that I had just gotten my IMEI unlocked if that makes a difference.

spontaneous boot loop?

my rooted G2 with stock 4.2 suddenly quit accepting a charge and appears to be caught in a boot loop. when I have it in via usb to my laptop it (laptop) responds by recognizing 12 different devices while saying they they all need to be reformatted. when I unplug the device they go away on the laptop. when I hold power (device) the LG logo will appear then quickly disappear leaving only the very dim backlight as proof that it isn't completely dead. any ideas? thank you
one more thing, the fiddling I have been doing is xposed modules. the last one I think I activated was xblast tools (very cool sh*t by the way).
You need to flash the xposed disable zip that's automatically put on the root of the storage directory. The latest module or change you added is most likely the cause. After flashing the zip, you'll need to reinstall xposed. Remember to disable the module that caused the bootloop.

Do one thing flash the .tot file for your phone if you can get to download mod, it should bring it back to factory defaults but it will format your sdcard as well so all personal data will be gone.

When you plug it into your computer do you see a yellowed out device in Windows device manager?
If so try this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48361867&postcount=68
or alternately, install the pdanet drivers.
If you can then get adb access to your device there are several paths you could take.
I used this thread (I had recovery but not twrp), as it's the least destructive - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
If you can't get adb access with either single sooner or pdanet drivers, you may have to resort to this..

Bricked lg g2-d802! Help!

So, I was going to do a clean flash... but I accidentaly checked "Internal Storage" and now I only have TWRP and Download mode working... I have the International Model (D802) and the phone is charged at 100%. With the LG Mobile thingy is reveals the LG G2 D802 has a LGV500 (a G Pad, really?) WHAT DO I CAN DO? ç.ç :crying:

If it's any comfort, I made the same mistake first time I had to reflash my rom.
So calm down and focus. Don't plug the USB our when doing this, it will brick your phone completely.
Best regards, vPro.

I'm a noob... but not so much to make that error... I rename the zip because I was thinking that the dots (CloudyG3_[2.1] <---- these dots) is making adb not read the zip, so I rename it to a simple "cloudyrom" and it doesnt work anyway.... but I'm a little more happy because I know that I can still make the phone work

LG G2 (D802) Bricked + TWRP is drunk

Hello my fellow humans of planet earth. So... With this being the first ever thread I open I get to say right from the very start that I am no pro at rooting / installing custom roms and similar stuff. I am more of a DESKTOP guy...
In any case... Yesterday I messed up big time, and don't get me wrong, I did my research... Anyway. What happened was I was updating to the latest version of CM 12.1, and just as I went in TWRP and tryied to start flashing, I got an error and no update. Then, smart me, tryied installing another update, a bit older, but still newer than the one I had running. This one probably was a bad zip and destroyed my installation of CM12... Then, even smarter me, decided it was a good idea to format and try to get CM12 anew. The TL;DR here is... I have no CM, when I connect the phone via usb it recognises it but it says "This folder is empty", so doesn't show anything on the pc side..., and the strangest problem of them all is that TWRP has gone CRAAAYYYYY! Man... Currently, the phone boots only in TWRP, but TWRP is unusable. The touch is not working properly, as I tap "wipe" for example and it opens "settings", for example. Even If I am able to actally click something, I can't do sh*t because I can't use the "slide to do w/e" ....
I am so confused. I tryied using methods like the TOT unbrick and it starts flashing and then it reboots... but into TWRP, I have no controll over anything. I even tryied some ADB stuff I found online but had no luck with that....
ANY kind of help would be worth a lot.
In any case, due to my limited internet access these days, I won't be able to see answers immediately but will probably be able to do so in some hours!
Guys, please.. for the sake of humanity, help.

Are you positive that you have an official d802, because there are a lot of refurbished lg g2's that claim they are d802 but in actuality they have d800/d802 motherboards. The only way to find out is to open your phone and look at the model. Open the phone then remove the power button cover, from there there should be a flex cable running from the top left to a secondary board. Lift that wire up and look at the silver square box and it should have your motherboard model.

No.. TWRP is kinda unusable... I followed a tutorial by HighOnAndroid the other day, and I installed some driver and I am able to interact with the phone using ADB with a fastboot folder I have. I don't know if it is the same thing though.

Try install kouch adb drivers, and download minimal adb and fastboot (Google) and then attempt to start adb sideload. But first can you check your device variant. We don't want to brick your phone.

C:\Program Files <x86>\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>
I don't even know if that is what I had to do..

I do have to confess... my TWRP was working great, ...UNTIL me being smarter than usual followed some guide I found online trying to get CM12.1 and used an app called AutoRec or something... which wasn't nessessary since I already had TWRP.. and then this happened. TWRP has gone nuts.

I already have. Here's the funny part though.. I don't have enough screen... hahaha... I registers my touches a bit lower and I cannot go that low... I get that we have a problem here...
The only thing I was able to think of Is trying to emulate the phone through the pc, but I don't know If I can do that without actually having a working Android going...

Are you able to take a video of what happens when you flash a tot file. I have never seen that before and maybe the video will help clear some things up. Right now thinga aren't looking good. But don't lose hope there is a method but it is very very tricky/hard.

Okay, since your in side load. Go to the computer and go to the minimal adb and fastboot folder. Click **** + right click. Select open command line here. Type in "adb devices" and tell me if your device is recognized.
