I recently updated my G2's firmware (Verizon). When I try to connect to windows media player, TVersity, or PS3 media server the phone will connect to them but says there is no media. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I use fb2k (foobar2000) as media player at my PC. I wonder if there is an application for PPC devices to control the media player via the PPC over a BlueTooth network?
1. is it possible to connect your phone (like usb mass storage) to your computer via wi-fi through my network? if so, how? i can sort of get streaming to work through allshare and windows media player but i can not move files , only stream.
2. i have not used samsung media hub yet because i dont want to sit there and watch a movie on a 4" screen. so my question here is , if you rent a movie on the media hub, can it be played on a computer either by usb or streaming?
to help answer these questions, heres my set up:
phone: sprint ( usa) samsung epic. no mods have been done to my phone, everything is factory.
PC: quadcore cpu , geforce gtx 275, 4gb ram, running windows 7 64bit. my pc is hooked up to a westinghouse 47" 1080p monitor.
Search for "xda samba android" in google. Should be like the first link.
I use Websharing and WiFi File Explorer. Look them up.
those apps you mentioned work great for photos ive taken or videos ive recorded, however it does not work with media hub. i tried streaming and it will not find the movie on my device , i hooked my phone up directly to my pc and the movie file is not supported by windows. so im still looking for a way to watch media hub files on my computer. any suggestions?
Nope..Media Hub has the DRM :/...and All share is not compatible..so that ends that.
Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to share media from my I9000 with my windows Vista desktop (connected via LAN)?
When I tried scanning from my phone it could not find any device. I think this maybe because perhaps a wired connection cannot be connected to DLNA? Could someone let me know if there is some way to do this?
TIA
Dear friend
You can access to your mobile files and folders via Wireless lan with WEBSHARING software.
Also I am interested to know how can I share my files in my PC with My Galaxy S
Actually I am looking for streaming not just file sharing.
Is there any way to get this within Windows itself?
make sure your phone is connected via wifi in the same network with any device that runs a DLNA compatible player (such as Windows Media Player) then run "allshare" and you will see the name of the computer(s) with the player...
I hope this helped.
it doesnt work for me. my computer is connected via a cable , while my mobile phone connects wireless to the same router..
Doesn't work for me either. In the Media Player "media sharing" I am unable to see the Galaxy S.
i just tried. it's working on my windows 7 32bit.
running the latest Wmedia Player. which i believe is 11?
streaming media FROM my phone, streaming media TO my phone.
i'm using JPY from samfirmware.
oh yea i'm connected to WIFI on both my laptop and my phone.
It doesn't matter how your pc is connected to your network (wifi or cable). You should "see" the computer that runs DLNA player via allshare and choose it. After that, your computer sees the gallery of your phone and is able to browse and play media from it.
Edit: Galaxy S shows up in the media player's library
After updating my software version to VS98012B I am no longer abler to stream video from my Windows 7 machine. The phone recognizes and connects to the network, and recognizes and connect to Windows Media Player (under Near By Devices) but since the update it says 0 videos. Everything is fine on my PC's end as far as I can see. I repeated the steps to ensure Windows Media Player is set up correctly. Anyone else have or fixed this problem?
so my g2 is pretty much refusing to share data via wireless storage or media servers, it fails at airplay, and the thing won't even show up as a drive when I'm using media sync with a usb connection to my ps3 or mac.
anyone know how I can fix this?
