Yesterday i did a mistake. I've installed SuperSU by chainfire and superuser by clockworkmod. Now both are broken. Can't use none of them. Is there a possibility to get a working SU-App again, without formating my whole system?

Ok, after unrooting again my Note 3 with Odin and CF-Auto-Root everything is fine. SuperSU works again and Superuser has gone.

Apparently the owner ran into an issue after trying to update to kit Kat with Odin. I presume he tried to flash the stock firmware since be doesnt know what root means. He says it boots up fine and you manage to get into the select language screen. But afterwards you get a sparse black screen.

Sounds fixable. I should be able Odin another rom and flash cwm, root it and custom rom etc right?

Looks like it's running acustom ROM at the moment.
If the owner knows how to flash firmware on a phone, why hasn't he fixed it himself?

Um. The screenshot is of my phone showing his screenshot on gumtree.
This is his screenshot
I get what you mean though. Isn't Odin only used by users who know? Since normal users would perhaps use kies? Lol

Sigh. Bought the phone, for 200 though. I flashed a stock firmware via Odin. Still same screen as above. Sigh. I tried rooting it and getting Philz touch on it. Touch input does not seem to work. Loaded aosp roms and kernels onto the phone. Flashed it via Philz recovery. Gives me bootloops.
Ideas?

Managed to somehow install a aosp rom. Touch input doesn't work? Wtf? How do I fix it? Screen lights up fine so what's the issue?
Managed to get it linked to adb somehow. Any way I can fix the touch issue?

I rooted my s5 with towelroot and my knox count is still 0x0
now if I try to check for software update I get this

so rooting is the reason? cz I thought keeping the knox count 0 is what mattered.and how should I solve this keeping the count 0?
Turn device in download mode and check Knox waranty void.
Also Xposed module Wanam can fake system status to official

I'm not sure why you are surprised? it's well known that Samsung doesn't sanction rooting. If they did, we wouldn't need exploits like Towel root to root our phones.
When you check for an update, the update utility has a quick look at your system to see if the system files are as expected and discovers that key files have changed (because you rooted). And insists that you go back to stock before the update proceeds. If you think about it a moment, the message you received makes perfect sense.
It's questionable if you should update at all if you have a rooted system. If you do, then you ought to be doing it manually in a controlled manner. Which is to say that you don't let the system check for updates itself. Instead download the new firmware, then use something like Mobile Odin Pro to write the .tar file, choosing everroot, inject superuser and wipe cache.
.
wildalan, ,aybe stupid question - you received this information before downloading the update or just before installation after downloading the OTA?
You should download samsung kies and then connect your phone .wait a while.then click software update....it will download and install latest update.it may take a while and u will have latest software updated without knox tripping

Hey all,
I rooted my Canadian Note 3 using the information and guidance from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53632129
Everything went well, I now have root, I did not flash anything else but my device status in download mode and in settings -> about shows up as custom.
I downloaded the pro version of triangle away which fixed the download mode and flash counter.
However, my device status is still Custom in device settings.
I have tried downloading Xposed Framework along with Wanam Xposed and tried to use the security settings to go back to official, did not seem to help.
I want this to go back to Official so I can get OTA updates.
Still looks like this, any advice?

Make sure you have stock kernel and recovery, then use TriangleAway

I did not flash a new recovery or kernel, just rooted with CF AutoRoot and that is it, tried Triangle Away PRO version, it resets the flash counter and says official in download mode. However, in system settings -> about it says "scanning" when the phone is turned on and then goes to "custom"

Hi all,
It has been a few years since I rooted my last Android device and I seem to be having some difficulties in rooting my current Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 running Android 4.4.2.
Please see attached screenshot of my phone Baseband version, build number, etc.
Are there any supported root methods for my device?
How important is the build number/baseband version when attempting to root?
I seem to be able to find root info for similar devices although quoting a different build number etc.
I attempted to use the chain fire auto root and selected the root file for the Qualcomm international and it did flashed in Odin and showed PASS but did not grant SU privileges.
Luckily my phone was fully functional after a hard reset, although I am wondering whether these methods of rooting are still working for my version of Note 3.
Is there a possibility that it is not possible to root my SM-N9005 due to the particular build number?
I have attempted to search around for any useful threads, although I am not having any luck.
Can anyone even suggest a method which I could investigate further, or even possibly direct me to an existing thread which may prove useful?
Thanks in advance,
Alex.
For ease of reference my build number is:
KOT49H.N9005XXUENE3

All I am after is SuperUser privileges for various purposes - not looking to flash any custom ROM or anything of the sort at this stage.
ANY HELP AT ALL WOULD BE AWESEOME!
Here are some additional details from the Phone Info app:
This would make me assume that using CF-AutoRoot should work using the file:
SM-N9005 (International Qualcomm): CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.zip
Is this correct?
