[Q] Nexus 4 Picture Copy Problem - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys , I've got a problem with my Nexus 4. Basically whenever I try to copy over my pictures using the standard MTP method It'll crash and say my device isn't responding or not compatible to transfer with my PC. When I first got my phone it was all fine but recently it's given me these problems. Even if I use the PTP method still crashes. I'm running Kitkat 4.4.2 with Franco's Kernel and everything else is stock.
Any solutions?
Thanks

Rebooting when transferring data from PC

Hi,
I just recently received a brand new Nexus 7 32GB Wi-Fi version but I have been having trouble transferring files from my PC to the Nexus.
With stock ROM (4.22.) and Kernel the tablet would randomly reboot while tranferring files through MTP (various cables) and through AirDroid. Once rooted with Franco Kernel and CM10.1 Nightly the same thing still happens. I have tried transferring different files of various formats and sizes. The results are very random. Some of them do copy over without crashing but most of the time the tablet reboots itself midway through through the process.
I would be glad if someone could help me out with this one!
To anyone interested or similar problems,
I sent the Nexus 7 to Asus for a RMA to Holland and came back as NTF. I just requested another RMA and this time they are sending it to a tech center in Sevilla, Spain.
Am I really the only person witht his problem?

HAVING EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM!
The only workaround as of now for me was to split data and transfer.
While transferring images, i had to transfer 50-60 at a time. It wouldnt take more than 100!

Kinda similar thing...
I'm having a similar issue. In fact I'm trying to copy an updated ROM to my Nexus 4 that is already running 4.4 KRT16S which has a size of 486 MB and I get the same popup and the copy process doesn't even start.

Sprint LG G2, home key not working, screen not locking, no notifications

I recently updated to KitKat OTA a few days ago, I flashed the hotspot mod (although it didn't work) And I have TWRP installed. Aside from that I haven't touched any system files. The home button does nothing, it flashes and causes the phone to vibrate upon press but doesn't actually DO anything. I am not getting any notifications at all, my phone will vibrate but the notifications will not appear. Also, I have it set to lock with a PIN. But it doesn't lock, I'll lock it, wait, unlock it and it won't ask for the pin it'll just be right where it was when I locked it. Please could someone help me? It was working fine earlier, except the Play Store kept giving "No connection" so I restarted my phone and then all of these issues arose. Please could someone help me?
Edit: considering trying a factory reset through the settings, would this be safe considering I am rooted with TWRP installed?
Edit2: I'm trying to flash a stock Jellybean image using LG Flash tool. But the tutorial is telling me I need to go into device manager and set the COM port to 41. The problem is device manager isn't showing any com ports at all. I have the drivers installed and they worked fine before all this happened. The computer also doesn't recognize the phone's internal storage. Could I try flashing it without setting the COM port? Or could someone help me set it?

After installing the the hotspot mod it didn't work and issues started arising so my question is did you remove the mod after you knew it didn't work? Also about you flashing stock, there is no way to do it without switching the com port to 41, if you don't change it the flash fails at around 49% or so, have you tried switching usb ports?

I have not tried removing the mod, as I'm honestly unsure how. I deleted the backup I had made because no issues had arisen and it took around 2 gigs of space if that was needed to remove it. I'm going to try more when I get home soon and hope I can get the COM port to appear under device manager. I could see the hotspot mod causing issues with connection, since it affects USB connection. Is there any way I can remove it without a backup? Really shouldn't have deleted my backup..
EDIT: Got it working, guess it had to be in download mode to set the port and I just missed that part Working on the flashing now.

well for future reference a backup should be stored in the pc for the future because it's one of the ways to go to stock before you started modifying files, and yea download mode very important

Crazy USB

Well guys . This is my problem
I was using MOL 5.1.1 and life was perfect. So I decided to try something else and flashed Darklords. Becouse I was buggy I returned back using mybackup.
Problem:
1) charging from adapter(wall) not working
2) charging using PC goes perfect (really fast)
3) PC dont recognize phone so I cant use odin nor Kies to flash completely stock.
I tried a couple kernels and still the same
Any suggestions?
Thanks

CM11 Storage Problem

Please help me. I have installed cm11 in my s4 and I am having storage problem. all pictures are blackened out in gallery. nothing would download saying download unsuccessful. pictures won't capture. I am really worried what to do now.
This problem started since I installed cm11. previously that was fine.
i have tried reinstalling cm11 but this problem is not solved.
Again the sdcard is not the problem as it was working fine in previous rom.
Ok note that I backed up my system using twrp in my USB using OTG Cable and then removed it.
Try a different CM11 ROM.

OK note that I never format my internal storage as I have my nandroid backup in it. But I format /data(except /media) using TWRP. Can it be a cause?
