Can someone please help me with flashing a ROM in apx mode? - Acer Iconia A500

I see the EUU packages here and I have downloaded one. I have no trouble getting the device in APX mode... but how do I flash the ROM?.
Sent from my SM-N900P using xda app-developers app

Run the pbj2o.exe - you'll need cpuid and drivers, it also depends if you're upgrading or downgrading. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516012 to downgrade. If u have any other questions pls dont post in the dev forum, see the root guide in my sig, all info is there.

You know that EUUs packages are exlusivly for unbricking device and you won't be able to install/upgrade another rom, right?

YES- I got her up and running- I ran the babsector.tar . Then I was able to run tdv4_rollback_rom. Then the V8-TWRP_2.1.3_ICS_recovery in APX MODE- Now I am back to CM10.2- It was a scary 72 hours

Root gb on note

I got a new g-note but didnt get it rooted....i want to use mobile odin and my laptop isnt workin....is there any solution on how do we root note on gingerbread 2.3.6..??.....

You cannot use Mobile Odin on a non-rooted phone.
The easiest way to root GB is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25285584&postcount=3
However, you need PC Odin for the procedure. Borrow a laptop from somebody
and be on your merry way.
I knw that mobile odin wont wrk without root that is y i asked for instructions on rooting GB.....thnx anywayzz.....

thanks chasmodo for the link... i have been waiting for a link to a pre-rooted ROM kernel for a while now.. mine is the newer version (LC2) that is not directly rootable using CF-root from Dr Ketan's guide.
i only have one question... since the pre-rooted ROM uses pc-odin it doesn't have CWMR and since i do not have mobile-odin i can't use the CF-root kernel to flash CWMR right? Is there any way i can get CWMR installed via different means?

No, you'll need a computer for at least part of the process. What firmware ate you on?

Well luckily rooting isn't that system taxing. I rooted mine on a 2006 laptop...slow but worked
Just read this guide:

and use this method to root:

You can't install a custom recovery if you have mk2 firmware your bootloader is locked and currently the only way to run a custom ROM is to use safe strap. You can try this to unbrick http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2573080 or take it to a best buy with a Samsung experience shop and beg them to flash it.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Well not sure what steps to do as the phone is in download mode. I see the 4th post in that thread has boot modem and recovery and that seems to be what screwed up flashing twrp. I could try that set of steps and see or can I flash back to the previous firmware and be all good and hope the MK2 ota is pushed to me.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I467 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Well I flashed the stock recovery and boot img and I got my phone back. Will wait to see if twrp gets supported before flashing a custom rom.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I467 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can't get twrp to work unless someone counteracts sammy's bootloader lockdown--I don't see that happening anytime soon
You need to use SafeStrap as mentioned--read up a lot on it in the General and Q&A sections
You can still flash a fair number of quality roms, but you are limited
You must use SafeStrap's recovery, which if memory serves me, is loosely based on twrp

[Q] anybody knows a method to step back from 4.4.2 to 4.3

Hi @ all
Does anybody knows a method to downgrade from the new bootloader aka KK 4.4.2 to JB 4.3?
The phone is rooted and a custom recovery is already installed.
I already tried this methods:
For the first only flash a custom 4.3 rom. Surprise no success After restore tried with an official fw by Odin without pitfile (anybody tried this?)
Surprise surprise no success.
Then I tried to unlock the bootloader cause I read that this one is locked. So I used adb with the following cmd lines:
Adb reboot - bootloader phone boots in dl mode
Then I typed fastboot OEM unlock and fastboot shows in cmd waiting for device. The phone driver are already installed in sdk, from official samsung USB driver and the Google adb USB driver. Phone where detected in adb but not in fastboot. U can check this if you type fastboot devices...
So this is what I tried. Does anybody have other solutions that we can try?
Does anyone know how to detect the device in fastboot?

It's already been stated hundreds of times that it is impossible to downgrade from 4.4 to 4.3 because the latest bootloader sticks the device to 4.4.

Exactly the same says everybody in the galaxy s2 Foren when 4.0 came out and they want to downgrade to any firmware befor this. It took a while but there was a solution found. So I asked here if anybody tried anything to test if we really stuck on 4.4.2.
Maybe there is a simple way to unlock bootloader and use the files from nexus 4. They got a solution for the downgrade procedure. They unlocked the bootloader and flashed by fastboot a file named flashall.bat. so they where able to flash fw befor 4.4.2. So you see it is possible to do it!!

If your phone is rooted you can enable fastboot. There is a script in the dev section on how to enable fastboot. As for downgrading and playing with bootloaders. You will need to be very very careful, samsung bootloaders don't play nice and you can hard brick very easily.

The methods you mentioned above seem fine, but isnt restoring my nand backup(backed up on a stock rom) and flashing a stock rec, then unrooting is the simplest way?

are you sure that is the best method for the international model?
i have the 16GB model, and the download provided in the TOT section of the guide is for the french one.
should i wait for the 16gb kdz file from my country(israel)or flash the french one(i need hebrew stock)?

I might try it in a few days when the official 4.4.2 update gets released here.
Just so i would know, will restoring my backup(it is stock 4.2.2, i'm currently on cm11 4.4.2), flashing a stock rec and unrooting work?and if it will, will it bring back OTA?

I honestly don't know, I don't even know if there's a file you can flash that restores it to stock recovery. Using the TOT or Method 2 is essentially a file that restores it to stock ROM and stock recovery, so that's the only way I would know. But I supposed you're more than welcome to try it and see if that works.

And it has many firmwares available for download. As long as i download it in kitkat version, is it ok that i download the open europe version?
edit:in the open europe D802, the file's name doesn't state if it is 16 or 32GB, or even kitkat.
is it safe to use it with method 2?

Sprint LG G2, can't install a custom recovery

Hello all, I've got an LG G2 LS980 on 4.2.2 Jellybean. (I do not want to update to Kitkat) I cannot seem to install a custom recovery. I've read multiple guides and followed them all perfectly.. The ones using loki flash always give an error such as "Not a valid loki image" or "aboot version does not match the device" I've tried using the dd command on teamwin's site as well and all it did was completely remove my stock recovery. I've spent days trying to get this to work, please could someone help
