[Q] GT-I9505 Bricked After Clearing Some Memory!!! - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Thanks in advance for your time, I'm lost without this phone!!!
I was attempting to clear a bit of memory, and read somewhere that if you *#9600# and select option 2 it gets rid of old update files etc.
I did this and rebooted my phone to get a blank screen.
The phone vibrates when you hold down the power button, and also when you plug in USB, but there is nothing on the display, and no light to say its charging.
PLEASE TELL ME I HAVEN'T KILLED MY PHONE!!!!!!

Can you go to download mode?
Remove your battery and insert and hold volume down key, home button and power button at the same time, see if you can enter to download mode. You need to put your phone to download mode prior to use.Odin

I really hate to say this but it sounds to me like you have a hard brick.Which you have to contact samsung for repair or a new replacement .Unless i might be wrong?prolly someone will give you any ideas how to. im sorry mate that i couldnt help you.
1. Hard Brick Symptoms: Dead screen, no reaction at the press of power button.
2. Soft Brick Symptoms: Device not able to boot and is stuck on the Bootanimation, screen is turned off but it turns up when the power button or specific key combination is pressed

Phone doesn't turn on, pls help !

My phone was kind of soft-bricked, I was getting some error and couldn't get through the recovery mode.
I tried to re-flash it to stock using odin and after repartitioning mobile turned of and now it doesn't react to anything.
I've tried all combinations I could think of - mobile is just dead, black screen...
Has anyone had similar problem, is there any solution other than bringing it back to samsung ?
hmmm maybe a little more information can help us
like ROM and what were you doing before this happened.

The best phone in the world
I was on Obsidian v2
Then I tried to restore to a previous (Bionix Fusion) version which bricked my phone - I was getting an error (don't remember the exact error and can't check it now - something about not being able to mount) every startup and couldn't get out of the recovery mode.
Was trying this solution - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817186 - and after the step "Click "Start" button... <Firmware update start...> <Get PIT for mapping...> appear. The phone will turn off and the screen indicates "Reset". Wait until Odin indicates "Pass"." my mobile turned off and that was it.
Many thanks to Thegreat520
Following his advice I was able to enter the download mode and finish recovering.
Wow, that was scary
Perhaps you could post the advice that helped you? The regular battery pulling - volume buttons holding thing?

Can't enter download mode

I've tried searching the forums here on xda and google and can't find a resolution to this.
Today I flashed a stock ROM (XXKE7) coming from lightning 6.1 and now when i try to get into download mode I get
can't access to '\system\csc\XEU\system\'
All seems to be working fine, but I can't enter into download mode now.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Do you have stock recovery?
Volume up + Home then Power
I've tried vol + home and power and just get a yellow triangle with text. So no stock recovery.
Picture attached.
Would a USB jig sort it?
Thanks
^^That is stock recovery.
Download mode is volume down + home + power
You know what that means....

I have to serve you a dose of Sosa mate, sorry.
Use a USB jig. It ushers you into download mode. It also gets rid of the triangle that appears if you use cfroot. So you really need it.get it from ebay

[Q] Black Screen , no boot !!!!

Hi there,
I tried to root my new GNote , but I messed up with a silly mistake after I flash another rom for SGS2 ( this is a reminder to double check the procedures TWICE ) using Odin3 v1.85.
My GNote now in black screen and never boot ( of course ) .....
The device still recognized by Odin3 ( I saw the box becoming yellow everytime I connect the USB cable ) , but of course I couldn't go in download mode !! However, I downloaded the stock rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1310513 ) and I tried to flash it using Odin3 , but no success !!
Also I could see the device using the adb devices.
Please help to recover to the stock rom.
So you have now a sgs2 bootloader.... You need a jiig to put it in download mode and then, you will be able to flash a stock rom with odin. This is what I have down to reset my flash counter
Sure you can go to download mode.
Shutdown, hold start, volume down and power button at the same time until the screen appears. Release and it will go to download mode.
Now you can flash using odin.

Still no Success
Open a command prompt, navigate to your Android SDK,
Adb reboot download
If that doesn't work then you'll need a jig
Sent from my Insanity powered SGS2
Pressing the power button for a longer time will shut it down as well.
Or
Take out the battery a bit longer, hold down volume button already before putting in the battery.
(sometimes it starts by itself when you place the battery)
Keep trying.
Suddenly it will happen.
I'm almost sure....

Think so... Before that try this.
1. take out battery along with sim card and sd card
2. Hold both Up+Down volume buttons
3. Plug in the usb to connect to your pc
4. putin your battery back.
Will work I think..

Thanks in advance.

It's hard and it won’t work all the times. You have to try several times
1 - Take sim card inside and get a micro SD card you can format.
2- Grab original firmware from Huawei site
3- Put dload folder inside the SD card you have just formatted
4- Turn the phone with Vol+/Power buttons hold until the firmware update screen starts
5- Cross your fingers
Did it work for you friend?
