Looking for a specific 4.4.2 ROM... - Nexus 7 (2013) General

Hey!
I've just installed Temasek's CM11 on my i9300 and noticed how many mods I was missing.
I'd like to find a ROM which has an option to center the clock on the status bar and show the current day (most of the ROMs have it, so no big deal), and change the battery icon to something else (again, pretty common).
But what I didn't find so far (I've installed dozens of ROMs) is a KK ROM with the scroll animation (where the icons shows up animated when you scroll). I've used that feature and loved it on 4.3 and I really miss it =( I thought it haven't been ported yet, but I see it on the Temasek CM11 ROM so I guess someone else might have used it on their N7 2013 ROM.
If anyone has any knowledge about a ROM with that feature (or have this as a proposed feature), please post here =)
Thanks

Your solution is simple, actually. Modules built for XPosed Framework can do most - if not all - of your requests. GravityBox can handle the center clock, there's a module for the battery (whose name has slipped my mind), and XuiMod can handle your list animations.
But the scrolling with the icons, are you referring to actual icons, or lists? Just want to be clear.

Is this what you talking about?

That sounds like what he is looking for. That's why I suggested XuiMod, because it does the same and more, and he doesn't have to be restricted to any single rom...unless he wants to be.

That's right! Wow that's amazing. Didn't know the potential Xposed had.
Sadly it doesn't support ART, which I kinda like.
I'll be installing them right away! Thanks for the suggestions.
Also, I'm using a ROM here that allows me to scramble the lockscreen PIN numpad. Is there a Xposed mod available for that purpose? I've seen that xuimod has a "lockscreen mods" button.. I guess I'll find out soon
Are all Xposed mods available on the "download" button or there are others around?

[Q] [REQ] Nexus4 TouchWiz5

Sorry that I post here, I dont have enough posts yet to post in developer threads.
Is it possible to port TW5 to the Nexus4 ?
I dont like the ICS (TW4) one. 5 Looks better with the colors.
Would be nice if someone could do it.

Is this a TROLL THREAD?
Thread moved to Q&A as is a question and even if you did have enough posts you should never post question threads in development. Please don't disrespect other members and be abusive as this is uncalled for. Some people are just not as knowledgeable as others and we were all new once so if you don't have anything useful to say, please say nothing at all.

Yes its been confirmed it is.
I already saw there is a request for sense. No motoblur love yet?
A touchwiz rom for a LG phone?
But no seriously, touchwiz as well as HTC sense, lg ui, motoblur are all closed source and very difficult to port. On Galaxy Nexus, there was a skin pack of Touchwiz on top of stock Android.
For people bashing op, android is all about options. If a developer wants to devote his time into porting it then so be it. Nothing is stopping him. If android was one way if thinking then we wouldn't be any different than the you know community.
Realistically, getting a stable touchwiz rom isn't worth it and it won't happen most likely. If you like touchwiz then get a galaxy s3 or a note 2

The launcher and some of the framework was ported to the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7 by a developer called madphone, he even made a ROM that was fully themed.
He's also ported LG launcher and framework to the Galaxy Nexus.
Evilisto has ported the LG lock screen to the Galaxy Nexus too.
Yes OP it's possible and you're not wrong for asking, it's your phone so run what you like on it and never mind everyone else.
Best bet to see TW5 on the Nexus 4 is to contact madphone and see if he's interested in porting it, maybe he can tell you if the mods he's got out will work right off the bat on the Nexus 4.
Do a search for him and you'll find his threads. Or Google TW5 for Galaxy Nexus, a few months back a few big Android sites wrote an article about his work.

All I want is that I can organize my homescreen by pinching it with two fingers and removing that circle in the middle to open the menu, I´d also like to have folders in my menu.
Thats all. I dont want to use third party apps, I had goLauncher on my GalaxyS+ but I had problems so I want it to be fully implemented into my OS/ROM.
Maybe I´ve missunderstood what touchwiz is,
but I am used to this layout and I like it.

Touchwiz is the framework for all Samsung devices. It is the skin that they used. Some prime elements of Touchwiz is the notification bar, icon skins being in squares, home screen of square icons, memo, smart stay, etc.

It's what stock Android looks like. It's called Holo. I actually like it a lot and prefer it over TouchWiz launcher.
you can google for 'touchwiz launcher galaxy nexus port' and try installing the APK and see if it works (dont flash any zips though, at least i wouldnt try it)

Auto Fill Contact Dialer...?

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I am having a hard time finding anything about it (which I am confused by as well!)
I just upgraded from a samsung captivate (original ) and one of the features I liked about that phone was that in the dialer I could start typing in the first few numbers of someones number or the first few letters of someone's name and their number would auto fill in and I could just click it and call.
I know it is probably not nexus 4 specific, but 4.+ in general, but is there any way to get this feature back? Am I just missing something obvious, why in the world would they get rid of this?
T9 dialer?

My guess is that, that specific feature is called T9-dialer and I'm missing that too. I level'd up from ZTE Blade running CM10 to my brand spankin new N4 yesterday and yes, I want that feature back... Or... what the heck, Im going to root, unlock and flah CM 10.1 within the next 22h anyways )))
The T9 dialer is not included in AOSP. It's honestly the main reason I rooted. There is a T9 dialer apk floating around, but it only works on deodexed ROMs. Most ROMs inthe dev section have T9.
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757280
Remember, deodexed only.

I am using exDialer now and it works perfectly so far, so if anyone else is interested (and doesn't want to run a custom rom) I highly recommend it.

ex-Dialer is the best replacement. With an ICS theme, it even looks like the stock dialer.

Ehh. I bought it mainly because I like the stock experience. I've played around with a lot of roms and I'm a little tired of having little issues here and there. Right now the phone runs blazingly fast, and apart from not having the t-9 dialer installed (which it now does and works great) I have no current issues, nor any desire to play around.
Heres the T9 dialer mod. Make sure you're on a deodexed ROM before flashing it.
T9 Dialer MOD for nexus 4
It is there to some extent, you just have to hit search on the dialer screen.
Seems a pointless step to me like.

This was posted on the nexus 4 themes and apps forum and is proven to be compatible with 4.2 without issues.
Maybe the dialer in your link works fine as well but since it was from an old post on the gnex forums, I thought I'd add this just in case there were any compatibility issues.
Perhaps its the exact same mod though, I have no idea if there's any real difference.

If we have CWM you can simply make a flashable zip of this "always listening" feature one of the best things on android. The possibilities.
This ROMs will be available for both single and dual SIM versions? I'm afraid that we can't get CyanogenMod for the dual sim version of Moto G.
Honestly, unless you have something to show for it, this sort of thread belongs in general discussion and not development.

I'd like a solid device build profile so that AOSP based roms can be compiled before even thinking about miscellaneous features.

I'm not an expert but probably to optimize the always listening feature should be useful modifying the kernel? I mean..it only one of the four cores is used for this function while the other three sleeps, probably the battery drain would be less aggressive? Sorry it I said something wrong. Anyway this device can become GREAT with some developing so happy

Official CM11-Nightlies for N7 flo

I am not a developer by any stretch. I posted here because I had nothing to do with this and take no credit. Moderators, feel free to delete or move, or re-word this. There are OFFICIAL CM11 Nightlies available and it should be known. I am a long time fan of CM Roms. I am surprised there isn't an Official Thread already.
Download ROM: https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=flo
I am currently using Invisiblek's Gapps found here: http://www.invisiblek.org/gapps/
Obviously thank you to whomever is working on the Flo CM11 Official ROMS and the entire CM team. You guys are awesome!! I am not taking any credit whatsoever, just trying to get the word out!! Whomever the developer is that is actually working on this please make yourself known to get the recognition. I am excited and look forward to further builds!!!!
CM is the best!!!!!
Added bonus.. [4.4/4.4.x][PATCH] Qualcomm-optimized Dalvik & Bionic libraries
These really do work.. installed them on my VZW GS4 and also now on my N7 Flo for a performance boost.. Who needs ART? Link is for the OP, I had nothing to do with these either.
Antuntu: 24220 Quad: 9585 (on N7 Flo with 12/30 Nightly)
I have been CM fan since CM 6, it has been my absolute favourite rom on all my nexus devices.
UNTIL RECENTLY...........somehow they decided to stop using aosp and made their own code, it is incompatible with most of the kernels out there, leaving us with very few choices. =/
Also I find it a little odd that you are posting this after like 2 months lol.

I don't know whats happening to everybody..
really i think CM is overdoing it.. i can't remember the last great feature they added..
and they take a real long time to release a stable build.. maybe people decided to stay with
root stock rom and use the xposed framework with gravity box.. and maybe a custom kernel.
Last time I was running CM11 the audio would periodically freeze/buzz while watching videos. Can anyone confirm if this is still the case?

I think uoure right. Maybe people have some afraid to root their devices.
Im still like CM always did. Theyre the best in custom roms.
Lets keep this good topic live. Thank you all.
I'm actually surprised that this thread is this short :| been on cm11 just yesterday and i've encountered 1 lockup, dozens of audio/video glitches with mx player
The buzz noise is directly related to the kernel.
Flash glitches new kernel v121 or newer and it'll completely disappear.
Just fyi, there is maybe 1-2 that work on the devices, kinda a **** move to complain about stable releases. Just because it's goggles new x.y.z Doesn't even mean that piece of crap is actually stable.
With that said since day one of nightlies minus kernel buzz, it's been rock solid. WiFi only here though.
I'm using the 4-21 CM 11 nightly and it works great. ElementalX has a CAF kernel now which is a huge plus. I opted to try the beta Xposed Framework that is CM compatible and so far so good. I added Gravity Box as well to get a working PIE function as well as a few other extras. No complaints from me. CM 11 for Flo has come a long way.
Note: Trying Xposed and Gravity Box may or may not work for you when running this ROM. I recommend having a Nandroid backup in your recovery just in case you try them.
I don't know why but no caf kernels work with my official cm
I even tried aosp kernels with no luck

Where is HALO within CM ROM's?

As the titles states, I've not seen HALO on any of the CM based or AOSP based rom's? That was a great little edition which really made the phone look cool, does anyone know if it's a simple add on or if it's even already been implemented into a ROM and i've just overlooked it?
I'm aware that there is an app which tries to emulate it but it's nowhere near as intuitive or as integrated.
Any thoughts on it or if it's even in the pipeline to be added to any of our ROMs?
Cheers.
EDIT: 50 views and no replies am i the only one who misses the HALO notifier? so bad
Ain't HALO dead long ago with the restructure (read: degeneration) of PA?
/RANT/
PA was once a nice ROM. Hybrid UI, PIE, HALO, all sorts of unique and original tricks, and open to features. Now they're just sticking close to AOSP and reluctant to even implement a shortcut in power menu.

On newer Android versions, Google is restricting the freedom of UI customization by unifying UI across devices and ROMs, so I don't see the chance for UI breakthroughs like HALO. Sure do hope some team can do it though.

And official:

Edit: I could have sworn someone mentioned AOKP, maybe not. You'll find DU at their G+ community.

Cheers mate, its a shame that.
There's been a few things like that, which have popped their heads up then went away again (CRT although you can get this one through xposed now)
Doesn't matter it's not something i need, it's was just a nice touch which for me made a little difference
Thanks again chaps.

I quite liked Halo while it was around too, one of the few customisations that I actually found useful.

We have the heads up which is ok but it's no Halo is it ?
More than certain i'll be flashing D.Unicorns, will see if they have any ways to add it but i'm pretty sure after whats been said here that it's probably gone for good.
Real shame.

I miss both PA and SlimROMs. Really lost the itch to root and tinker since the official builds went caput for the devices I have had.
