Hello guys, I have a problem.
To install kitkat I updated the recovery.
I flashed with [ROM] [4.4] SlimKat (jordan) [Beta Builds] [05-12-13] with no success.
Then I accidentally turned off the phone.
Now when I restart I can see only the logo M.
I can only get into the "system recovery 3e" with [power button + vol down] and [vol down + vol up].
If I attach the phone to the pc windows and linux does not recognize him.
I tried both whipe. Remains only "update recovery".
What should I do?
Do I have to update the recovery? If I must do it, wich update I will apply?

Sorry for the bad English.
Which ROM were you on previously?
When you boot up the phone, does the led light turn blue/green/red?
If it turn blue, you have immediately press volume down then you go int bootmenu.. Choose recovery and try again
Switch off the phone, then press+hold volume up and power button till the screen lights up a little (about 5-6 seconds). Then connect to the PC and open RSDlite. Flash the correct SBF and you're good to go.

Next time flash safewipe.zip instead of doing a full wipe

For some reason I can't boot into recovery mode. Yesterday I tried to flash the PAC ROM but got stuck in the "PAC is loading" screen. I had to turn off and flash back to stock with RSD light. Now, I can't get into my recovery (TWRP 2.5.0.0). When I use adb to get to recovery I get a screen with a fallen over android with its hood open and a a red triangle with a exclamation mark in the middle. I've tried to re-flash TWRP but that doesn't change anything. I'm assuming this is some kind of error, anybody know what to do? I've also tried to use cwm but I can't get into that either.
Also, how do I not get stuck in that "PAC is loading" screen when flashing?

The easiest way to get into recovery is to power down, hold all three buttons and select recovery. Try wiping data after flashing PAC. Make sure your boot loader is unlocked.

Yup, did all of this, same result. My bootloader is unlocked.

couple of things:
1.) battery could be low, and thus unable to boot up. I would suggest plugging it in (outlet, not PC). let it sit for 15 minutes. you should see the battery charging screen. after waiting 15 minutes, try to get into recovery via power+volume up+ volume down, then select recovery
2.) doing the RSD could wipe the recovery - are you able to boot up normally into the ROM? if not, make sure you have all of the drivers installed on your PC, and re-read the installation instructions (I'm sure you already have, but sometimes going over them again might open your eyes up to something you forgot)
I'm not sure where it is, but see if you can boot into safemode (google search for it).
my only similar experience is when I tried to install a custom kernel on PAC, and nothing would display on my screen (despite me hearing notifications). I tried several times to get back into TWRP, but finally got it after pressing the three buttons, waiting about 10 seconds, pressing volume down one time, then volume up once (the pattern to get into recovery)
hope this helps.
RSD flashes your stock recovery again.
Hold volume up + down + power, wait for 5 seconds for the phone to power off.
Then hold the same, volume up + down + power to get into your menu screen, select adb fast boot and flash your recovery. (fastboot flash recovery YOUR_RECOVERY_FILE.img)
Power + Volume Down (-) = Reboot
During reboot:
Press and hold Volume Up (+) = Recovery
Press and hold Volume Down (-) = Fast Boot
Press and hold Volume Up (+) and Volume Down (-) = Boot Menu
Since i dlash a kitktat bootloader for d802 and re flash ressurection rom last build.
It came up with SOD screen... i tried to hold power button for 10sec and acccess to recovery mode by pressing hold down volume and power button.
but it aint work... what i suppose to do??? It also blank screeen with no option to acccess recovery.

first of all - never, but never delete/wipe your internal storage...
second - and i've wrote this many times already:
to turn the device completely off
- your usb cable must be disconnected
- have the device charged for more than 50%
- press pwr button for more than 10 seconds
- at some point, LG logo will show - DO NOT LET THE PWR BUTTON OFF - KEEP IT PRESSED
- only then the device will be powered off completely with the black screen
THANK YOU!! you are awesome.. I misunderstood and i thought that i should wipe everything.. What do it do now?

now you find the thread on how to transfer a rom to a device directly from twrp or adb... or how to flash KDZ stock (then reroot and go from scratch)
i've never done it because i've never messed up anything on my device (my luck) - so i don't know in details - but there are threads on this subjects...
btw one more thing i've noticed in your 1st post - you had an .img rom file
you can't flash .img in twrp - you'll need the rom .zip file...
how do i access TWRP?
search on which button combination to press to enter twrp... (but before you try the key combinations - have the device powered off completely as described above)
on my device and 20h bootloader its
- press and hold pwr button + volume down
- lg logo shows (let the buttons go for a second or less)
- quickly press and hold pwr button + volume up
that works on my device...
you probably have older bootloader (20a) so you can try
- press and hold pwr button + volume down
- lg logo shows (let the buttons go for a second or less)
- quickly press and hold pwr button + volume down again
now - if you have TWRP installed - it will show you a white screen (factory reset) with yes/or no buttons - just answer YES to all and it will boot to TWRP (you answer with volume up/down keys for selection and pwr button to confirm)
if nothing of that works - try searching for other key combos... but afaik those are the only two that exist - depending on bootloader...
I had an indian G2 D802T with stock lollipop 5.0.2. At that time I was able to use the hardware keys to boot into the Hard Reset mode(vol down + power). Then I had it rooted using lg one click root tool and after that also I was able to use the hardware key combination. I then followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/complete-guide-convert-d802t-d802-t3184830 to install recovery and cloudyg2 3.3. The phone now shows as D802.
For some reason, now I cannot use the hardware keys to boot into recovery. I can boot into the recovery using an app. These are the combinations I tried:
1. after phone shutdown, press vol down + power until lg logo comes. Then release them and press them again
Result When the lg logo comes and I release the two buttons and press them again after sometime the phone turns off. During this time the led on top lights up as though booting into phone until the phone turns off.
2. after phone shutdown, press vol down + power until lg logo comes. Then release only the power button and press it again(keep pressing the vol down).
Result Same as above.
3. press vol down + power until lg logo comes. Then release them and press vol up + power
Result The phone boots into safe mode.
To install cloudyg2, I had to use an app to boot into recovery (after installing recovery) as manually restarting the phone (through power key) would result in the phone getting stuck at LG logo at boot. ( please see my comments on the above link on page 2 for more details).
I need the functionality to boot into recovery using the hardware keys in case the os fails to boot after installing some zip.
Please help!!
Update Just noticed in the ROM Manager app, under the installed recovery it shows both CWM and TWRP. But shows current recovery as TWRP. Is this an app issue or the reason for my above problem?
Hello,
I create a new thread because all "hard/soft bricked" topic are not the same as me.
I explain, my sister give me a galaxy S4 (i9505 variant) who has fell into the water, the eMMC seems corrupted.
The phone has "boot order" problem:
- If i try to boot normaly (just pressing power button), the phone boot in recovery mode
- If i try to boot while pressing vol down + home + power, the phone boot in "normal mode" (android seem not damaged)
- If i try to boot while pressing vol up + home + power, i show the "samsung galaxy s4" splash screen and the phone reboot in recovery mode
The only way for me to start in download mode is to boot android (using vol down + home + power) and using ADB with "adb reboot download".
I've tryed to flash pit, rom (who is stock rom i9505XXUHOF2) and trying "bootloader update" option of odin, nothing change, the "boot order" is always wrong !
I'm not sure, so i think it's Qualcomm firmware who manage the "boot order", if yes, how can i redefine it?
If no, do you have some informations/solution that can help me to have the phone working "normaly"?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Kev
Try this: uncheck everything in Odin except f.reset time, flash stock rom, remove USB cable from the phone, remove battery, wait 5 seconds, replace battery, boot into recovery, perform factory wipe, remove battery, try to get into download mode again.
Do the volume buttons work when the phone has booted into android?
Hi audit13,
Thx for your reply
I've tryed what you suggest so boot order is always wrong.
Volume buttons work fine (i need them to boot android).
The problem isn't to get the download mode, so key combinaison to boot method, before phone feel water, keys combinaison was:
power button => boot android
vol down + home + power => download mode
vol up + home + power => recovery mode
And after feel the water:
Power button => recovery mode
Vol down + home + power => android boot
Vol down + vol up => download mode
If it can help, while phone is shutdown and charging, the phone vibrate every 3 seconds and didn't charge, if i just press vol+ and vol- keys during 2~3 seconds, the battery logo appear and the phone start to charge. A second thing i've see, when i'm on android, if i use the "reboot" function, the phone reboot in recovery mode.
It seem that the bootloader didn't boot on the good partition.
I've see an option in odin v3.10.7 called "auto start" and can take value from 1 to 8 (or nothing), do you think this can be a setting that allow user to define the partition number used to start?
