as of the title showed, i've experienced poor performance in playing flash movie on website. this circumstances usually comes with some flv providers such as youtube, or youku.com.
it feels like the flv movies are very lag, some of which are barely noticeable but most of them are in this condition, which likes playing "powerpoint"(though, not that serious, but laggy).
and, some of which have a resolution below 480p are in very poor quality. it looks like the whole image was created by many tiny mosaic, not smooth at all. but movies above 480p are normal, but still can see some noticeable "dots matrix" or crossing line on the movie.
i've tried both flash 10.1 and 10.3, and 10.3 is slightly better. i've also tried official rom and custom roms like lite'ning and cognition, they are the same. and different browsers, such as dolphin(which even worse compare to google's).
has anyone in this forum got the same situation?
or any clues?
i heard that flash 10.3 has worse performance than 10.1 in some devices, but with dual-core 1.2g cpu, i don't think gs2 has no capable of handling the flash stuff.
ps:now im using cognition rom with tegrak build24 kernel, tried using setcpu to 120400 and profile of performance, same as before.
I did the update from stock ( rooted) 4.2.1 to 4.2.2. Now most of the videos are choppy. The best so far is the MX player pro in HW mode. Rest are horrible ( 1080p not 720p those are all fine). The 4.2.1 version was smooth on all the files. My Note II plays fine everything. ( 4.2.1 some HW some software accel). My q's
Any recommended player? BS, MX ,ES etc ( some settings?)
Is this an issue that needs to be addressed by the BS, MX ,ES etc teams?
How about the HW accel in 4.2.2? did GOOG leave it alone?
I thought that the 4.2.2 update was minor and did not go into the guts of the system.
Many thanks
Abe
This is a huge problem. I think it's a driver level issue. The only video player that isn't choppy is Google movies. Of course that works, because you have to pay for it. Any other media player will exhibit some form of frame dropping. Mxplayer with hw+ works pretty well but still drops frames. I've tried to report this issue to Google but they won't even respond.

Problem solved. Went back to 4.2.1.
I'll wait for MX to fix it.
Thanks for your input.

Hello all. I have had my S4 or a week now and am loving it. So superior to the Galaxy S3. But I have noticed a small issue. When playing videos on some apps like youtube, the video will studder alot. No this is not a buffering issue and i have concluded that. And it seems that when playing videos from the youtube site on internet, the sound will kinda lag sometimes as well. This doesn't happen on all video apps so i don't think it's a hardware issue. My S4 is not rooted and is fully stock. Can anyone help me??
Guys i Have installed CM13 but games have Lagging problems
I Play "Marvel Contest of Champions"
It has no resolution Changing feature
Please help me out for better gaming performance
Thanks in advance
I've purchased my XZ Premium 2 months ago, i had no problems with it so far great performance, incredible HDR screen, with Android 7.1 nougat on board, and updated it to Android 8.0 oreo the performance got even better. but i noticed a problem after receiving a small update in January 2018, in playbacking some videos on Sony's video app, the issue is whenever i play an mkv video formats the video gets laggy as hell, first i thought the phone doesn't support this format or something like that, but when i tried to to play another regular mkv videos the same issue occur, I got frustrated then i tried to play the movies that I watched month ago it had the same issue, before it was playing fine now it's laggy, i was like "what the hell is going on", I've lots of videos with different formats and resolutions, my XZ Premium can play 4K and 4K HDR content h264 and h265 codecs just fine, but when playing some 1080p video that is mkv / wbem format h264 or h265 the video gets laggy, even playing 720p videos, the problem don't occur with mp4 files only on mkv videos, it's so annoying.*
Imagine the phone can run 4k with no problems but lags when playing 720p videos, lol what the f*** is going with this phone really?.
My old Xperia Z with Android 4.4.4 kitkat can run the video without lags but my new XZ Premium lags, lol this new update totally ruined my new phone for good, I'm a big fan of Sony Xperia phones my first Android phone was an Xperia and the last phone I've purchased is an Xperia.
Plus: my friend had the same problem on his Xperia Z5 Premium, when he updated his phone from Android 6.0 (marshmallow) to Android 7.0 (nougat), I downgraded it to 6.0 and the problem* gone, i really wanna know why is this happening with the new Xperia updates.
Here's a video sample of the issue I'm talking about.

Thanks, I'm already using it, playing videos on H/W+ feature,
But this way the X-Reality pro won't work, if i play it on the normal H/W the video gets laggy again, as I was say this problem occurred after the update, I'm just waiting for a fix or update to fix this issue, or I'm downgrading to Android 7.1.
i didn't get any lag at all, i previously owned a XZ and still do, latest Android flavour and not a single problem... hmmm

I have no problem with it too, this issue is just with playing some mkv videos, like I said, it can run 4k HDR videos without lags.

MX Player is problematic for me if I use HW+, I have to use either HW or SW. But the problems aren't lagging, but more like frames not getting decoded properly.

Yeah, exactly if it was laggy really then i would hear the audio stops for seconda and resumes, but this time the audio is playing just finel, the only thing that's lagging is the video, like you said it probably the frames aren't decoding property or something similar to that

Thanks I really appreciate your help, but before I flash out my OS, i wanna know if you have the same kind of problem or are certain this is the way to fix it, you know I've some important data (app data) and i don't want to lose it, and it's OK of I just flash it without wipe out the user data.
BTW mind if you tell me what region it is? The firmware i mean.
