[help] whatsapp - tablets not supported on defy plus

so last night i flashed the CM10 Sister jelly bean 3.12.
everything works fine except I'm having a problem with my whatsapp!
Alert!
Note: tablets are currently not supported.
I get this error in the start screen
wth? since when Motorola defy+ became a tablet lol?
please guys solve my problem

Uninstall and reinstall. Fixed the problem for me.

Also a simple reboot can help to fix that issue, as it happened to me.

I moved from CM10 to CM10.1 today and I'm facing this issue as well. Running Defy+ and the latest nightly (20130709v2) I tried everything mentioned in this thread but still getting the "Tablets not supported" message. No problems with CM10 at all. Any ideas, guys? This is kind of a dealbreaker to me if it doesn't work, which is a pity, because 10.1 really seems so much nicer otherwise. I also want to take this chance to thank everyone who have contributed to making our Defy the king of all the smartphones, especially Quarx!
Never mind, got it working. Here's what I did:
1) Cleared Whatsapp's cache and data, everything I could from Android's settings.
2) Uninstalled Whatsapp.
3) Booted to Custom Recovery, wiped cache and dalvik.
4) Booted back to Android, installed Whatsapp from Play Store and it was working.
Guess I did things in a wrong order the first time.

Hay man i too got the same issue !!
wat i did was just cleared my phones dalvick cache memory and cache !! well now its fixed simple !!

Well.. i tried waatevr u guys advised to.. cleared cache nd stuf..
But it dint work, untill i rebooted my phn.. Haha, i dont believe it.. it just needed a good old reboot.

[Q] newbie problems with custom roms defy

Howsit guys, dont know if this is the right section, apologies if it isnt....a year ago or so ,i kinda bricked my fone, it got stuck in a boot loop, so i used RSD lite and flashed a stock rom (JRDNEM_U3_3.4.3-36-1_CHINESE_SIGN_SIGNED_UCAJRDNEMARAB1B80AA03A.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNFRYORTINT_P011_A013_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf). Awhile ago i installed cm9 (CM9-NIGHTLY-121116-Defy) and noticed it would freeze up occasionally, pictures in gallery would go grey etc. Now i flashed back to stock froyo and then flashed cm10 (SJB-V3.1.7_BY-LM.(27.03-2013)_) , i did everything ,wipe data, the cache but it takes ages to boot up, it freezes up all the time and i have to take out the battery, if i open apps most of the time the fone gets stuck.
I love this rom but there are too many problems with my fone...whats the next best rom? or how can i fix it?
Any help would b appreciated :good:

Defy sometimes has these weird problems that can't be explained. Your best bet would be to flash an SBF and wipe everything using stock recovery after flashing (which you might have to do anyways to get out of a common bootloop). Then you can just do the same old 2nd init and flash a new ROM.

I had the older version of pacman and now trying to flash the new one. I downloaded pac_jfltetmo-nightly-20131018.zip and gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip. I reboot to recover, restore my phone, flash the ROM then Gapps. I reboot my phone and when i get to the welcome page to setup my phone i click one start and instantly a message pops up saying, "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped. Blame Tyler." I tried a dozen times and the same thing. Can anyone help please.

Edit. I tried flashing the ROM by itself then booting the device. Then reboot into recovery and flash the gapps. It worked for me and I have seen others say it is hit or miss. It is worth a try though.

Did you try a clean install?
-wipe data/factory reset
-flash ROM
-flash gapps
-restart
no "restore"
If you say you had an "Older" version, does this mean you were on PAC23 (with android version 4.2.2)?
If you are on a pre-android 4.3 version of PAC, you need to do a full wipe. If you are already on a 4.3 version of PAC and you have "blame tyler" issues, try factory reset, if the problem persists, try a different nightly

Just a little curious...is the Blame Tyler error a specific error or set of errors, or does Tyler get blamed for everything?
Also, can we get Tyler's xda username, so he can get the blame he deserves :laugh:

try redownloading the rom zip! and check its md5 code before flashing!!
also do a clean flash! all wipes!
if it doesnt work then even try fix permissions option !

'Blame Tyler' error is just a generic message displayed when some component crashes/throws an unhandled exception, etc. It's not related to a bad ROM d/l or MD5 code. Telling people to do a full wipe b/c of an undiagnosed error condition doesn't help much. There are far too many little brokens with this ROM that need to be addressed and given more developer support, if this ROM is get more adoption.
Since RC1, nightlies have been dropping for 2 months now - no log of what's fixed or added, unless you are a dev who can wade thru the build change logs and understand what that means. It's ridiculous that we've gone this long since RC1 with a new stable release and documented fixes. Maybe this info is buried somewhere, but it's not in the Spring GS4 forum and the Pac-Man website forum is dead.
These errors are not specific to any one nightly and have been going on for months.

the tyler message is just a replacement of the force close messages. It is meant as a joke as he is one of our devs and we all take turns being blamed for breaking stuff.
If your coming from the old stable and flashing the newest nightile...comming from 4.2.2. to 4.3.1 then a full wipe is required due to the different databases and newer code that isnt compatable with the old version. This should fix your issues.

I flashed the rom successfully after a full wipe this weekend. Amazeballs. I blame Tyler for making all my friends jealous of my phone.
I want to keep up with nightlies. The only thing not working for me is the wifi tether. If I have the US snapdragon quad-core variant do I want the pac-jfltetmo.zip?

i have flashed your pac man rom to my galaxy sl everything went right but its keyborad was not working then i manually flashed another JB keyboard in recovery mode... then it worked ... and i flashed blackgapps(JB 4.2.2) from ENHDROIX developers and it is working quite well...
the only problem i had was keyboard stuff..
so devs should fix that issue...

GUYS THIS IS VERY STRANGE.. The nav bar at the bottom overlaps half of the dock of next launcher which makes the dock completely unusable and ugly.. the same problem persist in 50% of the other apps notably go sms, quick pic, go launchers and many others.. I have tried the milestone releases and a few latest nightlies but its still not fixed..
Its hard to believe there are many discussions of issues about pac rom going on but I didn't find this preety obvious and significant one anywhere..
I have waited like 3 months since I started with pac, updated about 5 nightlies along the way hoping it will be fixed but no luck everytime..
This one is serious.. It has forced me not to use some of my fav apps and use pie navigation at times..
No problem with all the minor bugs but this one is frustrating..
ANY IDEA GUYS??

Same here, also getting this status 7 error, I am currently on CM 10.2, with recovery version at 6.0.4.4.... can't upgrade from cyanogennmod updates thru the phone, still dunno how to get around it, please someone help -__-!

Try different recovery, I heard Philz cwm works well with kitkat

The latest TWRP gives me zero problems. Lighting fast, never had a failed backup or restore once. That's just me.

im having this issue on my VZW LG G2. Im stuck in CWM getting Status 7 abortions when trying to flash cm 10.2. Rooted with io. I was on OTA 12B and looking for a fix.

I have installed omega 21 because wifi wasnt working, full wipe, it works for a while after every wipe and then starts auto switching off.
I updated the modem too today.

Update to OMEGA v.22 -> HERE

Wifi Conecting
I have the same issue, I have updated to v22 and still the same problem, I did a full wipe complet, twice and now after v22 it is flashed it wont start the wifi, it simply stays conecting... please help me I dont know what to do know to solve this, if anyone has the solution please share it with me,
I have a s4 i9500 with omega rom v22 and my wifi it is note working it starit doing it since it was on v21 and I upgrade it to V22 and it still wont work.
