[Q] Rsd lite will not detect phone!!

I got stuck at moto M and went to flash .sbf but rsdlite will not detect my defy. I tried all kind of versions. I am using windows vista. Now i am stuck. Any suggestions?
Make sure it's version 4.9 or higher. Have you downloaded the drivers? Are you in boot loader mode? Did you run RSD Lite as admin?

Try this: http://www.multiupload.com/1U4GCLROW3
RSD Lite 5.3.1 and Moto USB Driver.
I had the same problem, but finally got fixed when using this.
Hope can help u
If you are on Win 7 (maybe also Vista) you have to run RSD Lite as Administrator, otherwise it won't do anything. Also make sure you have the correct drivers installed (32bit vs. 64bit).
Have you tried to turn off or on usb debugging?
Guys I got it working. Thanks for the ideas. I removed some belkin router software that was hugging the usb ports and bam! Phone shows in RSD lite immediately.

Oh Thank you thank you thank you!
You are my saviour!!!!
I thought I had lost my defy and that I would have to do the battery fix, but then I ran into your post and I removed that pathetic Belkin USB crap and RSDLite could detect my phone!
I had flashed Nordic Froyo to my Indian defy and wanted to flash the official Indian Froyo.
Since I had a nandroid backup, I reached the point where I had to flash eclair fixed sbf and thats where I couldn't get Defy to get recognised in RDSLite. The log always showed "ERROR: PSTInitialize failed: Error Code 1"
After I saw your post, I promptly uninstalled that belkin software and voila! I could see my device in RSDLite and flashed the fixed sbf.
Words can't express my gratitude!
Thanks again!!!

change baseband

Hi Guys
Well a Defy+ passed my desk at work, it has been flashed to 2.3.6
It is on Build Number 4.5.1-134_DFP-231
Baseband EPU93_U_00.60.03
It is only getting 900/2100mhz Bands
It is a Telstra (Australian) Phone which should be 850/2100mhz
I can not root the phone, tried Zerg, Motofail etc and had no luck.
Without root I can not use baseband changer, I can not use 2ndinit etc.
Any ideas how to change the baseband/radio without root?
if you have 2.3.6 and can not root, that's it ... you can't root ... there is no way to root the newer 2.3.6-builds ...
and if you don't have root, there is no way to change the baseband ...
sorry for that, but you need root to do such things ...

[email protected] You Motorola!!!
this has nearly nothing to do with motorola ... every android phone comes unroot and it's not wanted to give the users root access ...
the only thing motorola is really ****ing up is the locked bootloader, so we can not downgrade our phones to fix problems like yours ...

So yes it is Moto's fault, if I could just have access to unlocked fastboot all would be fixable.
I heard there are problems with radiation levels after unlocking the bootloaders. There are bigger forces at work than moto with these damn bootloaders.

I've got the same baseband and I'm root, but I wasn't able to change the baseband (with the app)
I've got a lot of reboots each time it tries to connect to 3g (almost no problem with 2g)
any idea ?
I need a tutorial to manually flash a new baseband
are you using the baseband switcher app???
I can set mine to telstra 850/2100 and works on both telstra 2.26.0 and the new clubtelco sim I got.

I'm dealing with the same issue. I think its freezing in superone click because the phone requires the "SPC code" to apply the root. What i've found is you have to patch the phones firmware first, and then attempt to root it. I've tried using SUT LR to patch it, but before the patch can be applied, you have to enter the "SPC code". This is where i'm at in the process, I can't figure out how to figure out the "SPC code" for my particular phone, the Defy XT 555c.
I've tried having aLogcat running in the background while trying the ##data# method, doesn't seem to work on this phone(works on my other phones). I've tried using several calculators that would take the ESN or the MEIE and converting it, that didn't work.
The "SPC code" is a 6 digit number required to change the firmware. My phone is through straight talk, so i tried getting it from them but they said i would have to try motorola. So emailing motorola is my next step.
Hopefully anyone who views this that knows a little more about it than we will stop and give their two cents.. any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Your farther than me. I havent got that far lol ill try to look up the spc code and if i find it i will post it

Cannot root Motorola Defy XT 555C. Please help?? Have tried pretty much everything
Hi,
Could someone help me out. I just recent got a Motorola Defy XT 555C from Net10 and am trying to root it. I had an LG Optimus LG L45C Android and got this newer one.
I have tried to access the denied permissions, tried numerous approaches over the past two weeks about rooting the Defy but still no luck. Can some give me in layman's terms what I need to do? Sorry to ask but am not the most tech savvy person at times. I am disabled with Parkinson's and use the Android for a lot of features that are voice activated since my hands shake quite a bit so voice technology has been a life saver. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, John

check out my thread for rooting info. im off to figure out how to get custom recovery now... i think its going to require downgrade flashing a fixed sbf. this device cannot be downgraded using only stock sbf's, they have to be fixed.

Super one click does not work. All i want is a tether. Open garden through bluetooth worked for about 2 weeks. Now it will connect and load a web page for a few seconds then it gets hung up snd will not load anything. I dont need a root just a tether. Im on straight talk using tbis phonr no one knows how to root.
couldn't root - sending phone back
I have all but given up trying to root this phone. I am getting ready to send it back the place I bought it from.. . The last person was right in the super one click does not work on the motorola deft xt555c.
anyone know how to root this dang phone??
possibly found solution
I may have found the solution in another thread. I kept searching for Defy XT root, to no avail. Then I instead searched for 'xt555c', which is the specific model I believe we have.
Since I'm not able to post links, replace the '@'s with periods to complete the link.
