"Is my old phone any less Android?
If you drop it, does its screen not crack?
If you tweak it does it not speed up?
If you drain the battery does it not die?
And if you speak of Apple shall we not revenge?"
Our dearly beloved Nexus S's need our help.
It is up to us to better them by mods, tweaks and custom roms!
New phones are the enemy, and we are losing more and more Nexus S users to this temptress..
There is no "best" solution to this problem, so I have a chart to compare roms to better help you to find your "own" solution.
We are allowed our opinions,
but XDA doesn't want us to make statements about what is "best"..
Remember to respect XDA and anyone that posts on here.
So the challenge of this thread is to discuss your phone, rom, mod, tweak and anything else without using: BEST / FASTEST or BETTER / FASTER when comparing roms, mods, tweaks, ect...
If you try a rom, kernel, app, mod, tweak, please give your experience with it.
START WITH IT'S NAME AND DEVELOPER (LINKS ARE ALSO WELCOMED)
1. Performance
2. Battery life
3. Bugs or other issues
4. Favorite feature(s)
5. How you had it set up (cpu speeds, ect..)
6. Feel free to add any other relevant information
7. Would you recommend it
Try to only note the: key features, bennifits, problems, solutions, ect.. and not how your phone is now more awesome than mine, because it just isn't.. lol..
GOOD LUCK
( We will se how long this thread lasts until they shut it down?... lol )
And remember, that these are opinions, be curtious, use the thanks button and ALWAYS thank your developers.

Must Haves
Here is a list of links to "must have" files for your phone or computer.
It includes programs, kernels, mods and apks...
I welcome suggestions on what to add..
-here- (this is all the files I had on my computer at the time I created this link for the NEXUS S, please enjoy)
-here- (this is a init. script that will automatically kill the media server saving battery, but not affecting your ability to use media)
-here- (Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit, for rooting/unlocking/flashing/fixing your phone)
-here- (flashing this will allow you to flash AOSP type kernels on CM roms)
-here- (flashing this will allow you to flash CM type kernels on AOSP roms)
-here- (this is an alternative radio for i9023 boosting some signal strength)
-here- (this .apk is for the latest flash player allowing you to use flash content on the web, may not work for KitKat..)
-here- (this is an .apk for MI file explorer, it not only can check files on your phone, but also cloud providers!!)
-here- (this is a patch for your bionic libs, reported working in 4.3, but is for 4.4 roms for much needed speed increases)
-here- (this is a link to Greenify, it is an apk that hibernates apps for more free ram)
I am not responcible for any issues that you or your phone have due to flashing /installing these, nor for world hunger!
Better Battery Life Tips :
Disable GPS, 3G, Wifi, Sync when not in use
Disable auto sync of Google and / or other accounts
Set brightness level to automatic or minimum
Disable auto rotation
Close / disable useless background apps
Don't over clock your CPU
*Also try Greenify from the app store, for more free ram and battery saving*
**THIS IS NOT MY WORK, SO REMEMBER TO THANK THE DEVELOPERS**

Pet Project(s)
I have a tweak package that is a combination of just stuff I found and edited and put together..
I sampled from:
FlyonMod,
Pure Performance,
Operation KillJoy,
Codename LightningBolt,
rPx Ultimate Edition
Fluid Engine
Possibly something else shiny???
This is a combination of init.d and build.prop mods...
Flash in any recovery ( after system has booted at least once) Not compatible with other mods, though Seeder / Crossbreeder may work.. Nothing to turn on / No codes to type.. Just sit back and enjoy!
This is for 4.x.x and 4.4.x roms, it may work on others, you tell me..
KitKat version has modified bionic files and isn't recommended for other roms
**Improved scrolling smoothness
**Better general responsiveness
**Battery improvement
**Internet improvements
Possibly cures cancer (further testing is still needed on the cancer research)
As always, this is not my work, do not complain to the original developers about problems!!
This is a highly modified version of the original design, is in beta, it has been tested, but may have flaws..
Flash at your own risk!!

KitKat Kernels
So, KitKat doesn't have many kernel options, but here are a few links and how to install them..

AOSP and CM based roms may have issues when installing wrong kernel types, if you have major lags, you probably didn't use the correct kernel type and need to flash the CM or AOSP zip in the above "MUST HAVES" section.. Also doing a wipe on dalvik and cache is a good idea to avoid any bugs..

UPDATES!!
Updated chart!! Kitkat is finally on the menu..

I am sorry, I upgraded to the nexus 5. I feel like I am cheating on my trusty ol nexus s. I still use it for listening to music and I keep it close by.

Yeah, I don't understand why it's not allowed to post our opinion about what ROM is best for us. Not everyone have the time to download all the ROM here in XDA and try it all one by one. Thanks to guy like you, who is obsessed with installing and trying every ROM out there (I meant this as a compliment LOL), I can have some reference about new ROM out there.
I found your thread (the one that's already closed) really helpful for me. I knew about JZ054M (stock update) from there. I gave it a try and I love it.
I believe this thread will also be closed by mod. But I hope you'll still update your Google Docs spreadsheet. Sometimes I still check it to see if there's any new ROM out there. Thanks.

I just figure I might as well profit from the thread before it's closed...
What you guys think is best between using the old JZO54M with Xposed vs a latest 4.3 out even 4.4 ROM without the need of Xposed? I'm kinda sold to cm so I never really felt the need to downgrade, but I'm still wondering!

I dont think media killer works perfectly. Meduaserver still consumes a lot of battery after I manually installed it. (Its for mako, so it cant be flashed). Or does it work in a different manner? Im on euroskank December 1 CM build. stock kernel.

Eh, I actually just came from the S2 (sold it) and got a Nexus S as backup and dev device(hopefully), while I save for a Nexus 5 (or a new phone). Sorry in advance. I've only realized how limiting even 512MB RAM can be.
I'm quite thankful, ironically, that only a few threads are much active - this means to me that I have lesser ROMs to try out and look out for. SlimBean has been and still will be my daily driver, it having been my daily driver on the S2 as well, until a good KitKat ROM is out (not saying all the ones out are bad, just that there are still bugs for it).
EDIT: yet to try the improved bionic libs.
EDIT2: tried it out on SlimBean build 2. Seems to hold up pretty well. Will let this sink in for my daily usage.
EDIT3: Bionic libs seem to break the WiFi. I am able to adjust it, but the phone reboots. :/ Reverting :[

JZ054M with exposed is smooth__ than any 4.3 I've tried, but 4.4 is now getting Xposed.. Since 4.4 is as smooth as 4.1 but fast__, I would try 4.4 and you can have your CM too..

It doesn't seem to have those issues in 4.4, I haven't tried 4.3 with the mods, only read about it working.. Thanks for the heads up..

If you are using media, it will still rack up the battery usage, as it doesn't kill it forever, it only "should" stop it when you aren't using it.... I am on the Dec. 1 Euroskank as well and don't have any heavy consumption from the media server.. I originally went looking for this because I had a glitched 4.2 rom I was using that killed my battery due to this process, it may not have the same effect on 4.4?..

I understand the rule, as for a standard means of order, but our device is nearing the end and the users are diehards and don't seem to get into arguments over petty things like that.. I have seen in other forums, people getting completely irate over such petty statements as "best".. What really bugs me is that the original forum wasn't a "MY ROM IS BETTER" or "THIS IS THE BEST ROM PERIOD", it only accented ways to better the phone, regardless if it was gingerbread roms or build.prop tweaks.. I maintain the fact that people prefer different things, thus the multitude of options, and there can never be one ROM to rule them all ( except what I flash on my phone as it is bett_r than all or yours.. ) As for being closed, it took over 6 month and 35,000 views to close the first one, another 6 month lease won't be so bad..

Thanks,
I never flash radio before,
Need your advise:
1. Can I just flash in CWM like usual?
2. Is there any special Nandroid back step before I flash this radio?
3. If I want to restore in CWM, is it the same way to restore Nandroid back up?
Thanks

About:
This is CyanogenMod 7.2 for Ideos X5 (u8800).
It is built upon the latest sources of the gingerbread branch of CM7.2.
Using 2.6.32.9 kernel with all the tweaks franciscofranco has made.
This is if you want a stable every day use rom.
All are working expect native usb tethering but you can use any usb tethering app from the market.
Sources available on my github.
Features:
Overclocked kernel to 1800mhz.
Many governors to choose from (lagfree, lazy, minmax, conservative, ondemand, smartassv2, performance).
Noop & deadline I/O Schedulers.
Built from source.
Super fast!
Super stable!
Bug free!
Tweaked for better performance!
Including X5 Settings!
Including ksatta headset patch!
Including screen duplicate filter by stockwell!
Patched hosts file (adfree).
Working native wifi tethering!
Unlocked FPS.
Tips and tricks!:
1) For faster animations go to app Spare Parts and select Window Animations -> Fast , Transition Animations -> Fast
2) If you feel GUI is a bit sluggish use a different launcher. I personally use Go Launcher EX and it's full of features and fast! You can set the transition speed on Go Launcher EX settings.
3) You should be easily get at least a day (24h) with usage. If not either your battery needs replacement or some app is draining it.
4) If you don't like cdrom appearing every time just delete the folder cdrom from /system or rename autorun.iso to anything you like.
5) If you don't have an external sd goto x5 settings and set use internal card and reboot.
6) I suggest you try SetCPU for managing governors and find the one that best suits your needs.
7) If you are coming from official 2.3.5 downgrading to 2.2.2 keep a backup of your IMEI with 5iromtoolbox. Google it and you shall find.
8) I haven't included anything else expect google apps for a reason. That is that each has it's own taste. I could modify the rom with themes and apps that i think are nice but some people might not like them. Just use google play and tweak the rom according to what you like.
Changelog:
CM7.2 built on 2013-02-28
Merged latest commits http://is.gd/QW4Gio
CM7.2 built on 2013-01-03
1) Revert to standard dpi and deodexed.
CM7.2 built on 2012-11-22
1) Merged all latest commits up to id I491072c0 from the gingerbread branch.
2) Changed default dpi to 182 and added modded Play Store. If you want to change back to original dpi you can do it with "Dpi Changer Utility" already included in the ROM. Don't go below 180 or above 240 dpi cause it will break things up. Default dpi is 240. Also Play Store won't auto update. You need a custom Play Store from here http://is.gd/SOBDEB for dpi different than 240.
3) Odexed build. Supposedly speeds up things a bit. You can read about it here http://is.gd/tpGa46
CM7.2 built on 2012-07-21
1) All the latest merged changes on gerrit plus some cherry picks
2) Using by default a stock based kernel. Seems the same to me speed wise and a bit more battery friendly. If you would like to use the franco optimized kernel check out the downloads for and flash it through CWM.

1) Fixed some random reboots.
2) Updated ondemand governor.
3) Built upon latest CM sources.
CM7.2 built on 2012-04-20
1) Merged PaulMilbank changes to kernel. Should give more batter time! Thanks PaulMilbank (tweaked governors, set smartassv2 as default at 1024Mhz, enabled sio).
2) Further improved kernel build. Even faster now!
3) Removed NFS & CIFS.
4) Several cherry-picks from code review.
5) Change I95c987f1: Toggling the flashlight from the lock/pattern/sim unlock screens (Goto CM settings to enable this. Similar to MIUI).
6) Change I4427e3f2: [bionic] Replace strlen() with ARMv7 optimized version
7) Several other picks to improve performance.
8) Replaced Mms.apk with the one that supports 160 chars on Greek, Portuguese etc.
9) Removed 11fps from /etc/init.d/ should give bit more battery. If you need it unlocked you got to put it back and reboot.
10) Removed unnecessary build.prop lines.
CM7.2 built on 2012-04-13
http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#q,status:merged+branch:gingerbread,n,z
u8800 specific:
1) Disabled back key rejecting call.
2) Added Greek T9 dialer.
3) Patched hosts file to remove ads.
4) Edit gps.conf for fast gps accuracy on .eu users.
5) Updated adreno drivers, faster 3d performance.
6) Tweaked wifi settings to stay connected while on sleep (goes on standby).
7) Fixed native wifi tethering not getting an ip address from dhcp.
8) Couple of build.prop tweaks for 3g/net performance.

Installation Guide:
Check your stock version. If you are on froyo 2.2.* go to step 5 else if you are on official gingerbread 2.3.5 continue to step 2.
Given that you are on official 2.3.5 you need to downgrade to stock froyo.
Get the latest stock froyo from here and put the dload directory into your sd card.
Power off. Press both volume keys and power on. Wait for the update process to finish. Once rebooted wipe data/cache.
Get Official CWM from here.
Remove the dload folder and boot into pink screen by holding both volume keys and power on.
Replace recovery.img with the cwm recovery provided on step 5.
Boot into recovery holding up volume key and power on.
Choose select zip from sdcard and select the update-xxx.zip
Reboot! Done!
Thanks:
Many thanks to the developers of the u8800 especially to: dzo, genokolar, stockwell, fransiscofranco, ksatta, ret4rt.

Hello! First of all sorry for making a new thread but i couldn't post to the appropriate dev threads.
What this is? I just took the latest cm7-kang build from desire z (1/3/12) and ported it to u8800.
What this isn't? Don't expect any bugfixes. It's based on genokolar kernel and work and unfortunately he hasn't update lately his github so there is no way for me to do any really work on it anyway.
What doesn't work? On both 32/35 kernel versions native usb/wifi tethering doesn't work. Wifi tethering should work with 3rd party apps though.
Beats me why native wifi tethering doesn't work. I've edit framework-res.apk to include the right softap and also the hostap_default.conf but still doesn't work. If anyone has a clue please let me know. USB tethering is totally kernel related and i don't have the source of the latest build. Other than that there may be bugs for sure.
Which one should i install? I would go for the 32 kernel version. It's stable, bug free.
Would there be any updates? I doubt so. If i had a proper build environment it would make sense but that's not the case.
Will it work on u8800pro? The 35 kernel version i think should work but i ain't 100% sure.
Can i install this over genokolar version. Yeap it should work.
Get it from here mediafire.com/?yc1grq127ije4 ( i can't post links too..)

Seems great... CM kang build is exactly what? A quick google search didn't result in much... From what I understand it is a nightly build, correct?

Wow, CM7.2 with .32 kernel? Well, amazing! I was waiting for this! Everything is working as normal, one thing only, system seems to have fps locked? Transitions and scrolling are not very smooth, but apps are working fast and load fast... is there a way to disable fps lock if it is, in fact, locked?
Installed franco, still too much lag in animations and scrolling :S If you could solve this, It would be great! CM7.2 is rock solid!
Im testing .35 and congratulations your rom doesnt have low sound in calls.
its good to have a cm in .35 firmware that dont have low calls.
Thanks
EDIT:
Your acelometer doesnt work (cant autorotation for example)
Would you mind sharing how you ported it? I'm interested in learning how to get ports working on our phone.
Seems great. I did not test everything, but it seems solid and stable. I tested .32 kernel and put franco on. Worked nicely. Well done on the port.

Indeed, well done. But don't you notice a general low fps in animations and scrolling? Makes the ROM a bit unusable...

You can see here what KANG means wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Terminology . Basically here it's a port from the latest desire z nightly.
About the fps i don't have any problem at all here please try reinstall after a full wipe maybe something went wrong with your first installation.

I've uploaded a new version of the .35 kernel give it a try. Haven't tested myself it either works or not. Not goint to support the .35 kernel anyway. Has too much bugs to bother.

I will try later on to post a simple guide on it when i'll got bit more time.
Anyway i plan to release a modified kernel for the .32 to make native usb and wifi tethering to work. Also i attach 11fps here for anyone who wants to unlock the fps just put it in /etc/init.d/ and apply the same permissions as the other files in it.
My point for making this thread was to have an updated CM7 for the .32 kernel version

I did all the wipes ... :-s will try again today. If that works, this would be the best ROM available. I agree, .35 at this point is a no match to .32, I'm happy you are one the very few devs (I think the only one) who are still supporting. 32
Sent from my U8800
F**ck after two more installs, with complete wipes of everything, using CWR 5.0.2.6 (oficial) it still lags a lot in animations on the .32 version... Will make a youtube video... :S
I did find it a little jerky, I think it may be a graphics driver issue. For a first porting effort, it is pretty good already. I have also done all wipes and formats.
Here's a video I made to show the problem I'm having.
Note, Kang build is the bigger one on the left side. Especially on the beginning, when entering and scrolling in settings, the lagging in comparison with u8800-cm7-111128-32final is clearly visible... And yes, all wipes done before install.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ooeq6xZju8
ok i've compiled my own kernel, i'm attaching it here install throuhg cwm.
This is for the .32 version only!
Let me know if it fixes your prob. Also working to fix native usb/wifi tethering.
Still no go here but please give a try too
Wow, you're fast... will try it now, and report when ready! Thanks a lot... a cm7.2 with 3.2 is a dream of mine!
EDIT: I'm getting "Invalid Attachment specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator" when trying to download the file... But I guess its xda fault, it seems to be having problems at the moment...
Can you upload the kernel to mediafire?
Please, upload the new kernel to mediafire I'm using the ROM even with the lagging, I would love, really love, to get this fixed...
I'm uploading latest kang to my mediafire folder check in about 20 mins the upload should have finish.
Let me know if lag is fixed now
Even better... thank you!
---------- Post added at 05:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:47 PM ----------
Man, I dont know how you did it, but you did! It's fixed in the last version you posted a few minutes ago! Thanks! I won't even bother with other ROMS for the next months Do you have a paypal?
Sweet Jesus this ROM is fast! I'm getting almost 3600 in antuntu! I never cared for benchmark results, and don't really know if that's a very high for the U8800, but this is by far the best ROM at the moment...

[ROM][GT-N7100][JB][4.2.1] CyanogenMod 10.1 unofficial builds // discussion thread

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.2 (JB), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Code:

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

CM10 + phone app derps (when making call) + graphic glitches + more
WOW that's awesome
thank u :good:
Except for phone app derps (when making call), I can live with all the bugs. Be careful, restoration of back up CM10 or reinstalling CM10 may be a little out of the ordinary. Used TWRP, probably should have used CWM recovery. Restoration and reinstallation was different. New SD Card folders were created by CM10.1 and all the data existed but not in the same folder as before. Backups previously in one folder were split into 2 back up folders in different SD Card folders. After reinstalling CM10 again, it was more like before but still different. Eventually I'll have it all sorted out. Just want to let you know restoring your back up or reinstalling CM10, especially if you use TWRP, may be a little tricky.

Like in one of first few posts. If you install this ROM and then restore a Sammy or other ROM the contents of the sdcard end up in a folder within the sdcard, in my case a folder called "0".

Which recovery are you using? I was using TWRP and was able to find an older back up to restore. I can now locate all the back up files with TWRP irrespective of the SD Card location. TWRP lets me go through all my files and folders to find the one I need when restoring.
You may have to download the rom you want to use and install from the get go unless can access a back up with your recovery program. You could also install a version of CWM that is updated to use 4.2 (if one exists) and then find your back up files.

Thanks for answer , I flashed TWRP , copied backup folder to ext sd card and restore from there ..but I probably return to CM10.1 in a day or so It looks pretty awsome considering so early stage of this ROM. And there is a lot work doing by CM team when I look into gerrit. After today fix (phone derp) I can't only wait for BT uadio fix ..
I'm glad CM 10.1 is in the making for our device!
A huge THANKS to the devs!!!

Edit: I won't be updating this any more.
As some of you want to know what exactly does and doesn't work at current (nebkat's) build of CM 10.1 for Note II, I'll maintain a list of things I spot misbehaves. This is only for you, dear fellow CM users', information. I'm a long time fan of CM and I bleed for having the latest stuff, and on top of that I like to tick tack every little setting I find. Still, these are just my observations and could very well be false information. More special features like NFC or Tethering might go untested.
Build 9th of December
UI lag
Minor graphic glitches when scrolling
Bluetooth won't turn on, hence BT Tethering won't work
Notifications e.g. GTalk, Gmail, triggers vibration even though it's disabled in respective apps settings
Some apps semi freezing at times (noticed with Chrome and Root Explorer)
Keyboard freezing at times, could be related to apps freezing
See also teamhacksung's own list of known N7100 issues.
If you want to ask for a specific feature, I might be able to try. And of course a big hug to nebkat & the whole teamhacksung for taking care of us.

Reporting Bugs:
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running custom kernel, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.
Please use the project's tracker for reporting bugs. Please file them properly following the template or they will be discarded.
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. The following is a useful format to follow.
IF YOU ARE POSTING A QUESTION OR OFFERING FEEDBACK ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH A CERTAIN ROM, YOU NEED TO LIST THE FOLLOWING:
**THE ROM YOUR RUNNING OR TESTING
**YOUR PROBLEM AND/OR YOUR FEEDBACK
**ANY SPECIFIC ROOKIE DEV YOU ARE ADDRESSING
IF YOU POST A VAGUE QUESTION OR GIVE A VAGUE REPORT, NO ONE WILL RESPOND. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT A FIX FOR ONE ROM OR ISSUE MAY NOT HELP FOR ANOTHER, AND COULD EVENTUALLY CAUSE DAMAGE. WE ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR GIVING IMPROPER ADVICE WITH SO MANY PEOPLE LOOKING FOR ANSWERS EVERY DAY. PROTECT YOURSELF; GIVE AS MANY DETAILS AS YOU CAN.
Requirements:
A S5830 device

Please make sure you followed the above steps before reporting any issues, especially 'wipe data/factory reset'
If you're having trouble booting while using alfs kernel, please follow these steps
1.Turn off your phone
2.Remove the SDcard
3.Turn on your phone without the SDcard
4.After successfully booted into the ROM, insert your SDcard!
If you having bugs on Fonts ( or if you dont like it ) you can flash this HOTFIX
If you have battery drain issue, try this following:
Generally, I usually get 2-3 days out of a charge (give or take depending on usage).
Clear battery stats in recovery
Don't set brightness too high
Turn off Wifi, 2G, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth when not in use!
Don't install too many unused apps ( install needed apps )
Freeze unused services like (DSP Manager, Maps, Facebook, Music)

Hello,
Wish you and your family a very Happy New Year!
You may know that I have already published ElegantPerformer on Xda. You can check it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709879.
Now I am going to introduce it's 2nd version. In looks, both are identical but you can feel the difference while handling. I have used a lot of ROMs from here and I really loved each of them, but mostly I found my phone buggy after using them for more than a week. I actually stopped working on ROM due to my exams but I have to make one for myself. Which must be stable, fast without OC, smooth like butter and beautiful. So I am introducing another version of my work ElegantPerformer V2 by Adwait.

Dude, when you release a different version of the SAME rom it HAS TO BE ON THE SAME THREAD.
Otherwise the Ace Development Forums would be filled with a trillion different threads.

Hey dude, It's look wise same But if the main source is itself changed then I think starting new thread is best choice. I know the rules but my 1st version was based on vo-1's odexed and this one is based on CM7.2's original nightly published on 1/1/2013. So I have to make a new thread! And I think I should! what say?
Edit: And also the Fire Kernel used in this ROM is OC. In v1 it was not an OC.
Did ur rom supports Tamil language? This version is deodexed?

Nope.
It should still be an update to the other thread.
As long as your rom has the same name you cant create a new thread. Be it a change in kernel or base rom itself

Yes! but it will be a partial support. It will not render font 100% but it can be read.

no! I don't think so!
Any reason you didn't include AdrenalineEngine ?
However, I'm going to test your rom for the next few days.
Thanks

Is that mandatory? I never used it. And to keep this ROM lightweight I have to skip additions which can be added later. I am glad you would like to try this ROM. I will wait to get feedback from your side!

Adwait
Of course you don't HAVE to use AdrenalineEngine, I just never had the feeling that it would do any damage to integrate it
1) On first boot I could not enter my PIN, all I could do was take out the battery and restart.
2) With every restart I get an error-message, something about bluetooth (I don't know if this important, I don't think it has any effect on the rest of the phone)
3) Whenever I want to go into the synchronisation-settings (I hope thats what its called in english) the phone reboots. (I think this might be a CM 7.2 Nightly error, and not your fault )
For now I have the feeling that it runs very smooth, and I like the way it looks.
Will test it for a few more days and maybe stick to it

Hello,
Did you cleared cache, dlavik cache 1st? After your reply I am going to test my ROM again but the errors you mentioned are completly new! They shouldn't be there. And I flashed my ROM almost 6 times during testing. So please make sure you have CWM5 or more, all data wiped, cache wiped, dalvik cache wiped!
Edit:
I just successfully flashed ROM. No error message about Bluetooth or anything found! Safely navigated through each part of settings without any reboot. USB tethering also works fine!
So I strongly recommend you to follow these steps:
Boot in recovery CWM 5
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Advanced>>Wipe dalvik cache
Choose 'Install zip from sd card'
Choose the file 'ElegantPerformer_V2_By_Adwait.zip '
Of course, CWM5 and did exactly as you said in your first post. Never had these problems before, but since your ROM is based on such a new version of CM7, I think it might be because of that. But I don't know, I'm not a developer or anything

[Rom]: MIUI 4.4.18 for Flo [KK 4.4] [18/04/2014] from miuiandroid

Hello flo users.
First of all, I was not the creator of this rom. I did not port it from another device, I merely brought it from miuiandroid.com, so all credits go for Xiaomi & miuiandroid.com
This is the fourth public release for flo. So please keep in mind, bugs, incomplete functions and other issues might arise.
The usual warranty disclaimer:
Your warranty is now void.
I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed, your mobile running away from you, getting divorced because you got enthusiastic with the girl in the corner showing her off your kick ass android, having hemorrhoids because a flash went wrong, your android pet gets frustrated because you keep flashing stuff and punches you, the whole thing gets hot to the point where it melts everything it touches, a force close happening right when you're using an app to control the earth magnetic poles and creating havoc, etc etc. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it!
YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if, you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
Ok maybe I won't, but you get it. Actually I'll laugh my ass off and then I'll be sorry. But still I won't help you. Maybe I will. Or maybe I won't. Or maybe I'll hire a professional killer to[STOPTHISNONSENSE]

XDA, do I need to say for what?
This is a AOSP based rom. So AOSP kernels will work.
I intend to update this thread as new updates come out (every friday / weekend).
Mods and other stuff, coming soon...
I hope I'm not breaking any rules by bringing this rom here. It's merely with the intention of keeping the info concentrated in this thread. Related your experiences with this rom here. We'll try to help each other in what we can.
----- About Kernels -----
Since MIUI is based on AOSP, any AOSP kernel will work. Feel free to pick one and flash it. You'll notice some improvements in terms of performance.

Just a warning for anyone that wants to use this ROM with Polish language, upon choosing it you will end up with endless com.android.systemui FC and there is no fix for that.
Broken GPS
Anyone having issues with GPS after flashing this rom?
There seems to be some people mentioning that either takes a while to lock or doesn't work at all. I don't think much testing was done anyway.
However if someone is still using the rom could give as an answer. If it's a matter of taking a while to lock, I would ask them to try an app to help with GPS locking (like GPS Status or alike).
It would be very much appreciated

Thanks for the report!
You're using stock kernel right? Could you try another kernel (AOSP) and see if the issue persists?
Anyway, I had some issues with other roms where I had to be outside to lock it, not sure if having wifi on helps the GPS lock, helping with accuracy I get it, but not sure about locking.

As I said, it's just a matter of testing, you might else notice some performance improvements depending the kernel you pick, although IMHO they are all quite good.

no luck on Bricked kernel, and ElementalX
So the results are the same even with a custom kernel right?
Then it's a rom issue.
I'm gonna post on miuiandroid forums about it, but keep in might this is a first release, it's a long way until it's perfect and they probably have other priorities

FINALLY I found a thread for this! Searching for it and Google-ing it failed me (how odd).
Anyway, I'm rather stumped. I was either browsing the Internet or on Google+ (same diff) when all of a sudden the device rebooted on me and went into the recovery.
Can't get the log unfortunately because every single time I boot into the OS, it restarts back into recovery not a minute after. I can't even get past the setup screen after doing a Factory Reset.
The TWRP log mentions something about an "Open Recovery Script" or something and shows an MIUI zip file, so... I'm guessing it's trying to forcefully update MIUI? And yet, there's absolutely zero indication on the UI end of this, it just wipes the screen and says "Rebooting" with a Jelly Bean Android.

In the OTA reboot cycle?
1: DL the new OTA from here: http://en.miui.com/download-213.html
2. Flash it in the "advanced utilities" section of Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389107), let it boot
3. Realize you lost root and TWRP (and check out the cool Miui calendar app before it's too late!)
4. Hook it back up to your computer and root+reflash TWRP with Wug's NRT
5. While you're in TWRP to flash the supersu file, go ahead and flash your gApps package
6. Be bummed that every gApps package replaces Miui's slick calendar app

I got a better one:
1) DL the new OTA
2) Flash it using Wug's tool, or restore a backup of a different ROM you have in TWRP
2a) If you restored backup, transfer over MIUI OTA & flash with TWRP
4) Flash any SuperSU zip (or confirm when TWRP asks you if you want to root after flashing the ROM), install MultiROM and update to the latest TWRP with MultiROM capabilities
5) Flash Core GApps which only includes the Play Store and Google Play services, so you get to keep the MIUI apps.
6) Enjoy
*DISCLAIMER*: I make no guarantee that the above steps will work for you, and if you miss something or screw something up, I am not to blame.

Will update OP soon.
In my opion I would avoid OTA update for now. As we know these are the first releases for flo with a totally new interface which probably brings changes under the hood. Either dirty install or clean install (I always go for a clean install, after all a weekly release ain't that bad, think of all those daily nightlies )
Update: OP updated. If someone is using today's version, you can post your experience, differences (if you notice any) with the previous version (either cosmetically / UI or any other changes you notice).
Also, are themes supported already or not yet?
I'm backing up my tablet, I'll flash it tomorrow
