Turn OFF - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi again,
I have a problem with my Galaxy S4. Several times I changed the ROM, but it does not help.
When I install something such as a game or run several applications at the same time the phone is switched off.
It seems that when the processor is strongly charged if the phone turns off.
After a ptoblem to turn it on and have a couple of times róbować, wait a long time and switched. Sometimes it turns faster when power is connected.
Please help by phone will not turn off.
Actualy phone status :

Kernel version: 3.4.0 [email protected]#2
Build: Omega v13.2

Probably your battery is damaged. You then get this kind of behavior when your phone switches off or reboots when it uses more power. Try a different battery.

It's a new phone and I got it three months. Rather, it's not the battery fault. As it is full charged it holds 3days.

It's your battery or maybe some other hardware failure. Flashing roms won't help you.

Reboot when phone charge!

When the focus is off and plugged into USB or wall charger, it starts up shows SAMSUNG, AT&T, and Windows Phone image, then it says "Goodbye!" and continues rebooting.
When I plug the phone after turn on it, it works fine for a minute and goes to reboot loop.
The battery is initially at 70%. I cannot connect to USB, or do anything...
This is a new battery, not OEM ones.
Can anyone help please?

Do you have anyone with another Focus at hand to exchange batteries? Or a Galaxy S (I9000), it has the same battery. If it behaves the same with another battery then you know for sure it's the phone. You can walk in in a store and do that as well. Eliminate the obvious.

Now sometimes it can boot into main window, but then reboot in a moment.
I will try the battery later.

I think it's the battery. I've read somewhere in here a similar problem and it turned out the battery wasn't charging.
Also, I had a similar issue with a dodgy charger, where the battery was not charging at all. I bought a standalone battery charger, that "solved" the issue.
I have some Wired things happening in my Focus, not sure whats the problem here.
Once my Focus Battery drains out completely and turns off automatically, am not able to switch it on back even after 2 hours of charging, it stays with the Samsung logo for a very long time, then i need to remove my battery and reinsert it again to Switch it on, again after switching it on am getting am warning message that my battery is in Critical. Any one have any idea about please let me know..
Here are my Focus details:

Had a similar experience with 7660 beta. Could not charge the battery properly, no matter what I tried. I think it's the way the OS reports battery status, but I'm not sure.
I fixed it by charging the battery in an external battery charger. No issues after that. I have 2 batteries and one external charger (besides the wall/usb one).

Solved now!
A battery of different brand does work.
Great thanks.

You're welcome! This confirms what I suspected and probably your battery is still good, but you need to charge it in an external charger (or in the other phone).

So i need to Live with that itself itseems My bad

Could a faulty battery be causing these issues?

I dropped my phone a bit ago and had to replace the screen. I also damaged the battery when I removed it so bought a supposedly genuine one.
The replacement battery doesn't charge right. It will say it's fully charged when the phone is switched off but when I turn the phone on it could be anywhere from 50%-100% charged.
Recently my phone has started turning itself off randomly. It doesn't power down. Just goes from on to off.
And then today it's been constantly asking me to re-enter my sim pin. But the phone isn't resetting before this happens.
I've tried a couple of different ROMS and they both do this.
Strangely if I go into recovery the phone NEVER turns off.
Could a dodgy battery cause these problems? Or is it a hardware problem?

I thought of that. I'll give it a shot.
Tried with stock 4.4.4 and I can't even unlock my sim card now. I put in my pin number and it just goes back to asking for it again. A message flashes for a split second that I can't fully make out but I know it says "failed" at the end. Hmmmm, I'm thinking it's a hardware issue. New battery is coming tomorrow so I'll see if it is that.
Got my new battery today and my phone is now working. Who'd have thought a dodgy battery would cause such weird issues?
Congratulations

Phone doesn't turn on

Hi all,
I'm having a bizarre problem with my OPT. The thread title doesn't really adequately explain the issue. Basically, if I shut the phone down, it will not turn back on. It won't boot to fastboot, recovery, or system. There is simply no response. If I plug the phone in, then after hours (or minutes, randomly), the battery icon will pop up with a red charging light (indicating a low battery?). However, it does this even if I shut it down with a full charge.
As an example, I shut it down before i went to bed last night (with ~80% charge), and left it plugged in. I got up this morning to no sign of life, not even a charging light. I unplugged it, plugged it into my PC, and an hour later I hear the little "new device" sound, and suddenly the red charge light is on. I wait some time, then attempt to turn on the phone. Then I hear the "device disconnected" sound, and it's dead as a brick again.
It also does this once the battery gets full. Eventually after attempting to power on the phone over and over again, it will randomly decide to turn back on, and then the phone works fine until shut down/rebooted.
Has anyone experienced this or have any advice? I'm hoping I just have something corrupted in my boot files or something software/firmware-related, but it makes the phone essentially unusable (and I certainly can't install a different ROM or anything while it's behaving like this).
Hi
Flashed Bad file ? Power problem ? Dead battery ? Charger problem and / or cable ?
But I already had that on my OnePlus 1 and I just changed the battery ... If it helps . Good luck anyway !
Be tested no choice. Unless you have the guarantee and a lot of time to waste in OnePlus...

I haven't flashed anything recently. I got the phone in September... unlocked, rooted, flashed TWRP, but haven't done anything since.
It's acting like the battery is completely dead, and it needs some time to charge before it will allow me to turn it on. But the battery is almost full.

You often dumps your O+ thoroughly ?
Because if so, it's not a laptop battery after I could be wrong but from my misadventure with OnePlus 1, it tires more battery than anything else. (On phone) :silly:
That way I'm not saying Fakir but I think if you have the guarantee, you should try to open a ticket to return your Oneplus. :good:
When my OnePlus fully discharged for a while he puts around 10 minutes to re-ignite (Oneplus 1) it is also how I ****ed my first battery on the OnePlus 1. :crying:
Not try to completely unload the O+2 from...
I'm just trying to help.
( PS : I still want to clarify that OnePlus 1 when it makes a point that the battery is empty it puts at least 10 minutes to light if I have the logo of the empty battery in red, even super you tell you my phone is dead ! And It is not ! If you know how is the process of loading a battery. And if such is your discharge too fast or you have a problem or charging your battery discharges of a sudden, I tell you it's more than problable so that your battery is lame. ) ( Sorry 4 my bad english.... )
The battery wasn't dead, I just shut the phone down. I very rarely discharge it all the way. Battery life is fine when the phone works. It's almost like the charging circuit THINKS the battery is dead and won't let it turn on. I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software issue.
Actually I just turned the phone back on. I just kept pressing and holding power until it finally responded and turned on. But now I'm afraid to reboot it again, or i'll be without a phone for 6+ hours.

Software yeah maybe but i think its more probable a hardware issue, i dont know.

Sorry I can't help you any more, hoping that the community and champion these seeds tries to meet you too !
Did you try to do a full wipe and install stock OxygenOS 2.1.2 ? ( Without SU or XPOSED ?)
Good luck anyway ! For me it is 0:23 am in France and I'm k.o :silly:
Good night !
May the force be with you ! ! !

Battery Life Issues - Random shutting down, losses of % on reboot, odd charging jumps

Hi,
A few weeks ago my phone started to shut off randomly once it dropped to about 50% battery, If I turned it back on the battery would show that it was down at 15% or so... I suspected it was a dodgy battery so I purchased one online however this turned out to be a chinese fake which only lasted a week or so and even then it still had the random shutting down issue.
I've tried multiple operating systems including stock, it happens on all of them.
I purchased yet another battery, this one claims to be able to hold 3200mah (obviously it can't hold that) but I just wanted to try a different type of battery, it worked perfectly as far as I can tell for a day and then started to have the random shutting down issue, random drops in battery% on reboot, a weird charging up issue where it would charge up from say 60% to 100% in a split second yet if I leave it for a few mins or reboot it'll drop back down to 60%~ or so.
I assume it's the logic board that's faulty but I can't tell for sure.... does anyone know if it could be the screen or the speaker or the usb charging board?
Any advice would be welcome! Thanks
I had that issue while testing different modems, until I flashed 107-33, for some reason I had to reflash and factory reset multiple times until it stops doing that.
try formatting and starting from scratch , also check if switching modems helps. regards.

S7 Edge isn't turning on

Hello.
So, I recently updated my phone 2 days ago for the first time after 2017, and the battery ran out while it was updating, and then it was boot looping and kept getting stuck at 28%.
I decided to reinstall the os on it (I installed the official rom that the phone came with). At first, everything seemed normal until I plugged it and after a while, the led indicator was showing that it was still charging but after I unplugged it from the charger, the light was still on and the screen was completely black and unresponsive.
After a while, the light shut off and after that, it never came on. I tried everything to get it on again: tried hard rebooting, trying to get into recovery, charging with different types of cables and with wireless charging also, basically every combination that came to mind. When I used the wireless charger, it showed that it was charging, but no signs of life on the phone. Samsung support wasn't that much of a help either, they only asked if I used a cable that worked on it and if the phone was water damaged or had any cracks.
Any help will be appreciated!!!

by putting the phone into download mode
Connect usb (not charger) hold vol- + home + power, release power after 5 sec n continue holding vol- + home . If download mode appears flash phone with same csc firmware. If no downlooad mode probably battery or emmc fault.
