I'm sorry for posting in a wrong section , I'm totally aware that the post might get deleted.
1. Long press Home Screen ,then go to settings.
2. From there go to Voice > Offline Voice recognition , Under Installed click English (US) then update it to version 28.
3.now go back to Voice > Language , make sure that you select Default - English (US). Voilà … Go to Home Screen and check it out no more force stops or crashes.

I'm new to this and I hope this is the proper place to post this message;
I have a buddy that was trying to change the font in his Samsung LG Optimus m using Font Changer and the noob didn't backup his original font. Now he can't get his phone to boot his original theme, the only thing that comes up some weird message, can't remember what it was... anyway, does anyone know where he can find the original font? I'd like to see if it might be possible to push the font file back into his phone. One other thing, if you're familiar with how to fix this problem please help.

I found 2 apps: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/manage-your-smbcifs-network-shares-with-cifsmanager/ and https://market.android.com/details?id=com.martino2k6.fontchangerlite&feature=related_appsfor changing the font. Maybe it'll have the default font.
Could one these be the 'font changer' he was using?
Yes, the phone is rooted. I'm not sure which font changer he used. Would it be possible for him to push the font file into the phone with a computer? The phone will not allow him to. Phone is post some message on the screen every time he boots. I'm trying to get a screen shot of it. I'll post it as soon as I get it. Can't figure out how to post the screen shot of the phone on here...

Perhaps, if an apk file were created and made available, it would make life a whole lot easier.

Perhaps, as an android user, you would benefit the community much more by learning yourself. It's quite easy, and if you're on these forums you'll need to know. IMO no one should root or anything of the like without knowing ADB.

I just tried it twice, that just reply : "Black". So I believe the entry should read "What is the UI theme color that is currently set?", although no other color is available

no way! as i know, USSD code beginning with *#*# work only entered from keyboard!
Interestingly that menu has the option for an SDCard Upgrade, which is not available anymore in the usual place, since the MM Beta B313.

isn’t it necessary ? You can flash pressing LS up&down together with the power button during reboot
is there any chance to get access to an advanced menue? like the one on the LG G3.

Forget sideloading, beta versions, etc. Just go into S7 settings, find General Management, go to Language and Input, then Languages and add US English. Now go to edit and DELETE EVERY OTHER LANGUAGE except US. Reboot phone. Longpress the home button and you should now have Google Assistant. Now go back to Languages and reinstall your own preferred language, and make sure it's at the top of the list. That's it!

U have to update google play services. Google is rolling assistant out to many devices on nougat, and its done trough the updated play services

Same here (Norway). It's only supported in English (and German and Spanish I think)

Oh, maybe this is true, I had already updated this. Go to apk mirror site and download the latest STABLE version of play services.

I think you're right. If you load English US or UK as a second language and put it second in your list of languages, then maybe GA will work in English.

Doesn't work for me, Android nougat s7 edge play services 11.0.33 Wich is latest on ask mirror, only have us English on phone and restarted a couple of times but still no GA

I got the google assistant on my moto x style on stock rom 7.0 a few days ago and i was very happy about that
Because of some problems while rebooting the phone i was forced to factory reset my phone.
I lost google assistant...and it didn't "kick in" , i do only get google now on tap again...
Since three days i try to activate the assistant but nothing happens... I should say that i'm on updated google services and google app...
Any ideas?:crying:
Check language settings
Go to Settings > Languages and Inputs > Languages & now check if you've English (United States) as your default language for Google Assistant to work on your device.

I'm from Brazil, and i confirm it's working in my language (Portuguese BR, no need to change to English) when i press and hold home button, have no idea why it was lost from your phone, since i had to format it fully and it work right after updating google app
